A truly wonderful facility with amazing care, kitchen, activities, and maintenance/cleaning staff. The caregivers and nurses go above and beyond for the residents, and the kitchen staff is always serving out delicious, healthy meals. Maintenance and housekeeping crew keep this place looking well kept and cozy, and the activities coordinators go all out when it comes to keeping the residents busy and happy. While she did not, ultimately, move into Brookdale, that fact does not detract from the exceptional effort on the part of the staff to accommodate my mom. The caregivers work hard to make the care facility a very pleasant place to reside considering the special circumstances of the residents and the resident’s limited abilities. In my opinion, the staff and management of the care facility care very much for each of the residents.

Your loved ones will end up neglected. Bedridden patients being left unfed, others in bed til 10 am without help getting up and missing breakfast, showers once every two weeks. And managers that don’t help or care. Beware

I was so pleased with mom's care and the communication Brookdale had with me while she resided there.

I am blown away with all the five star ratings. Our experience was certainly less then exceptional. We paid between $8,000 - $10,000 per month. The food looked nothing like it does on their website. I saw lots of oven fried to death chicken strips and iceberg lettuce salads. Certainly not the food that was described in the sales pitch. We had to tell the staff about the open wounds that covered my mom’s legs. That should have been caught by them during one of her weekly showers. The toilet didn’t flush properly and was never fixed. We had to complain to get mom’s laundry and room cleaned. Management would either say “we can do better” or just blame the residents. Not once did I hear the facility director come up with an action plan to correct the issues. There are a couple of staff that did rise to the occasion. Stacey, Jennifer, and Riz. Sadly, their good work was undermined by management that had a hard time returning phone calls. Managements complacency seems to have filtered down to most of the rest of the staff.

Written by my wife: From the first day my husband and I walked into Brookdale Nine Mile Memory Care we knew we had found my father in law’s forever home. My husband and family were committed to helping his father stay in his home for as long as they could. After two years, for many reasons it was becoming clear that finding a quality memory care facility was the next step. We started with an assisted living facility and quickly realized he needed more care. When we walked into Brookdale Nine Mile to see what they had to offer we were immediately impressed. After our tour they sat down and wanted to learn all about my father in law, his history, his daily habits, everything. And they were not asking to judge, they truly wanted to learn if he would be a good fit. Up front they shared that they do cost more than other memory care facilities, but then proceeded to tell us why. Our minds were blown, and from that first day they continue to amaze us. The transition was smooth, the first couple weeks was beyond encouraging, we knew he was safe, cared for and loved. My father in law has now lived at Brookdale Nine Mile Memory Care for nine months, he wears his teeth just about every day, something he would never do at home, he socializes, shares his sweet smile and one liners with staff and residents alike, and always loves to share about his amazing home when we come to visit. For two years were were trying to keep him home because we thought that was best for him, but we see very clearly now, giving him the professional care he deserves and allowing us to be just family and not care providers as well has been the best move for our family. One of many positive interactions my father in law enjoys is talking to the other residents’ family that come to visit. Watching them interact with him and then continuing to tell us how much they love talking to him, tells us so much. We see the same smile on every resident’s families faces, pure joy that their family members are so happy and cared for. From day one I have referred to Brookdale Nine Mile as the Cadillac of Dementia because oh my do they think of everything, their focus, intention and drive is to make sure their residents are living their best lives. Run, don’t walk to Brookdale Nine Mile, if you have someone in your family suffering from Dementia or Alzheimers, it will change all of your lives!
