I visited Brookdale Memory Care today. My Sister in California has Dementia, I would love to have her move closer to me. I met with Laurie DeMaine, she was so gracious and informative, she took her time showing me around the beautiful facility. It was warm and inviting, all the residents looked peaceful and content. Laurie provided me with information and options regarding my sister's current needs and future care. It was an informative and enlightening visit...A very special Place!

We moved our stepfather into Brookdale and all because of Laurie DeMaine. She came to his home along with a member of their assessment team. Incidentally it was on his birthday, so they danced with him as they assessed the factors enabling him to become a resident there. They were so warm, caring and loving. We knew that because of how Laurie treated him initially, he would be well looked after by their team. I went and visited 4 other homes and no one received me the way Laurie had. So we chose Brookdale really on our first impression of Laurie and the team. And I'm beyond thrilled that we did. Thank you Laurie from the bottom of our heart. Thank you to all the caretakers such as Maria & Zeaida. Porsche and Crystal you were so kind to us. Priscilla, Linda and Chanel at the front desk- and so many others whose names I can't recall- you all made the last months of our dads life epic. He was so happy, joyful, active and filled with so much love. Words can't express our gratitude.

I feel that Brookdale is the best place in our area for my husband, who has dementia. The staff is friendly and welcoming and wonderful. My only problem is the communication between billing and our long term health care insurance company. I have paid many thousands of dollars out of pocket because I have had to try to bridge the gap between the two entities.

My father came for memory care and end of life care. I have been here since right after he entered hospice. The staff treated him with kindness, dignity, and respect. They were gentle and understanding with all of us. Patient with questions and explanations. At the end they asked what his favorite food was, and we said chocolate ice cream. They brought a small bowl and put a drop under his tongue. His breathing quieted. We gather around. Soon after he took a small final breath. Even in our grief we are so thankful for the experience, the insight and care of all the Brookdale staff.

My husband became violent with me. This was the only safe place for me to put him. He does very well at Brookdale. They monitor his moods and give him the needed medicine only when needed. I have peace of mind knowing he is well cared for. Eden Hospice keeps me informed on his progress and has taken a huge weight off my shoulders.

I would like to say Thank You to all at Brookdale who take of my wonderful Mom. I toured many facilities which they were very nice and clean and professional. I chose Brookdale I think it is clean and has a very warm home like feeling for my mom. I like when my mom is the living room watching tv or an activity they offer snacks that is the feeling of a home not just a care facility. I really love the way each and every person treats my Mom at Brookdale I do not consider them staff they are our extended family and I sure feel blessed to have them.

My dad, Neil Kippen, was at Brookdale the last 14 months of his life and recently passed away. The staff there are absolutely wonderful and so caring. My dad was a physician and though long retired they always referred to him as Dr. Kippen or Dr. Neil. They showed him the utmost respect. They work very hard to involve all the residents in the activities of the community. The staff are all very patient and kind.They also made the family feel very welcome with each and every visit. Special thanks to both of the Marias, Jennifer, Chris, Alex, Memo, Candace, Eva, Dia, Priscilla, Sherri, Blanca, and all the other staff on the Garden Unit.

Recently we had to place my 84 year old father at Brookdale. I can tell you touring assisted living facilities in the Reno area made us eant to cry.My father was dispaying some severe memory issues and had just been released from the ICU.Brookdale was a Godsend. The place is extremely clean and the staff is very professional and truly care about their patients.For those that do not know Nevada does not have a nurse patient ratio and the local assisted living facilities seemed to exploit that (60 patients to 2 nurses and 5-6 CNAs) should be criminalI dont know what the ratio at Brookdale is but a staff member was always close. Once when the assistance cord was pulled they literally came running.Unfortunately my father passed. They even sent flowers to the family.We also lost a family memento and they searched for over a week and actually found it.f you have a need to place a family in a memory care facility I would recommend you tour this facility. The smile on the staff and patients faces tell most of the story.A sincere Thank you to the Brookdale Staff for making a very difficult situation as pleasant as possible.
