My brother's primary caregiver (our sister-in-law) died unexpectedly while he was in hospice care. My sister and I had to find a place immediately to move him so that we could have him close to us. Wendy Owens (Executive Director) and Andrea Cox (Marketing & Sales) led us through this transition with compassion, reasoning, and efficiency. My sister and I could have never accomplished this on our own. My brother has made a amazing comeback! Thanks to the excellent care at Brookdale. he is no longer receiving hospice care and is on a walker and out of a wheelchair. We are so grateful for our experience with Brookdale.

This is a wonderful community. The residents were doing activities and seemed to be having fun. The staff were interacting with the residents and the management staff that I met were very helpful and answered all my questions. The executive director, business manager and sales person made me feel welcome and made me hesitate in choosing this community.

My Mother-in-law has lived at Brookdale Mt Vernon for almost two months. She needs a lot of hands on care. All of the staff have been so good to her. They have shown her love and kindness and have helped make her welcome in her new home.

What a beautiful community. I have a friend that lives here. I'm always welcomed when I'm come into the community the lady at the front desk name is Angie she is very sweet. The director of the community Wendy always says hello and ask how I'm doing. The activity director Marlene is amazing with the residents when I have visited my friend and the residents are engaged and enjoying themselves during activities. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The facility smells good and looks clean as well. I've not tasted the food but its smells amazing when the cook is making meals. I can't wait to go back and visit again.

This is a wonderful community. My mother loves it there. She is so happy and has made many new friends. It is a very welcoming building. They treat my mother like family. Wendy, Andrea and Angie were so helpful and made us feel at ease with our decision. The activities are very inviting. My mother joined in the first day. I highly recommend this place.

My Mom lived here for 3 years. During that time she became very attached to some of the staff. They not only took care of her physical needs, but her emotional needs as well. It always made me feel so good as her daughter to arrive for a visit and see her engaged in an activity. The atmosphere was very much like a home. All residents were neatly dressed, hair combed and encouraged to join group activities. I visited almost daily and always saw positive interactions between staff and residents. I highly recommend for anyone looking for assistance with someone with dementia.

The crew here really take care of the patients. The front end managers run a smooth operation. The aides and nursing staff really show compassion and caring nature for those they care for. A+ facility for sure.

My Mom lived here for a little over 3 years (2013-2016). This home not only cared for my Mom, but for our family. I live in Cleveland and visited almost daily. Some days for hours at a time, often doing crafts, gardening, or just visiting with residents. The staff seemed truly dedicated to all of the residents, not just my Mom. I learned so much about how to interact and care for my Mom from watching the staff. I took my Mom on outings or to my home a couple times a week. When it started getting evening time she would tell me it was time for her to go Home. The staff greeted her with affection upon our return and she was content to be home. There can be no higher complement.

Wonderful place. My mom has been there for over a year now and she loves it. Staff is so good to her. When we take her out to eat or to church when she gets tired she will say Im ready to go home. What a great peace of mind to know that she is so happy.

My Dad has been a resident there for 7 years. He stays in the bed alot, he gets out of room for meals and to just walk around at night. He is incontinent and wears depends. He lies on his back all the time and he has never had a bed sore. He is kept clean and dry. The staff is very attentive to their residents. The facility has a family atmosphere. And there are always get togethers for the residents and their families. Communication is phenomenal. The nurses call me or my Moma when there are medicine and treatment changes for my Dad. The food provided for the residents is delicious! Although my Dad doesnt participate, there are activities provided for the residents all thru the day 7 days a week. Lisa and Haley are the 2 nurses that I have interacted with the most. Both are so compassionate and definitely they both have a special calling to care for dementia and Alzheimers patients. Teresa and Jody have always responded very quickly when I have brought concerns to them. Rhonda is at the front desk during the day and is always smiling and very professional and kind. So grateful for this facility!!

Our youth group had the opportunity to be at this facility the last three days. The staff were great! They showed love and compassion to each of the residents. They treated them as family and not that it was just their job to do so. I would like to personally thank them for allowing our group to come and spend some precious time with the residents. It meant a lot to each of our girls!
