I want to comment on the food service juniper offers. They've invited me to stay to several barbecues which are wonderful the meat and the beans in the potato salad are all good. I do not think I've had a bad meal there yet and I don't expect to. I give the kitchen a 10 on the rating scale

UPDATE: My mom has gained 7 pounds since moving into Juniper Village end of February. That's 7 pounds in 2 1/2 months! My mom is thriving. The staff are amazing too. Since I visit almost every day, I've observed the caregivers and how they interact with the residents. The quality of the care provided is outstanding. They clearly have experience and training in dealing with advanced dementia cases. So patient and caring. Thanks to Maria, Annette, Daniel, Juan...and everyone...You have to be a very special person to do this kind of work. My mom recently moved to Juniper Village at Aurora. I wanted to give a special shout-out to the kitchen manager, Eddie, and staff for preparing delicious menus and good quality food. My mom enjoys it very much. It's not the cheap pre-made, processed, overly salty, artificially sweet crap she was getting at the other facility. At Juniper Village, the meals are healthy and high quality. Homemade soup is served every day! Eating is the only activity that my mom enjoys. She is especially happy when her daughters join her and appreciate the food. "Seeing the kids fed" gives her joy. My mom looks forward to the meals and eats everything. She is one of the last to leave the dining room. I wouldn't be surprised if my mom has gained a few pounds since moving to Juniper Village. Thank you Eddie and staff, for the delicious meals. They are appreciated by the residents and guests alike.

She took the time to answer every question and really share what makes Juniper special. Her warmth and openness made me feel instantly at ease. One of the things I love about Juniper is their Best Friends program, where every resident is paired with a staff member who spends quality time with them each week. It shows how much they value genuine connection, not just care tasks. The community itself is clean, engaging, and feels like home. The staff are kind, and the atmosphere is full of life. If you’re looking for a place where your loved one will be treated with compassion and dignity”and want someone as supportive as Tracy to guide you”I can’t recommend Juniper Village enough.

Our son has been at Juniper Village about 8 weeks now. We are just so grateful for the warm welcome, professional and competent staff, the delicious and nutritious meals ( prepared so he can easily eat them (soft chopped) as well as the always available snacks. It is so stressful to have a family member (especially your child) requiring 24 care and the entire Juniper team has made us feel welcome and confident that he is in good hands. He loves it there and so do we! We recommend Juniper Village most highly and have given this feedback to our Physician team as well.

My wife has lived at Juniper Village in Aurora (JVA) for 16 months due to advanced dementia. She’s done very well there, I visit several times a week and I’ve been very happy with the environment and care she’s received. JVA is a very homey and comfortable place and caregivers and management are great at engaging with residents and family. The large open areas inside and outside, daily activities, and good healthy food allow residents to be as active as they’re able. JVA only does memory care, and with medical and nursing support easily available as needed they are able to smoothly manage even difficult cases. I definitely recommend JVA, especially for more challenging dementia cases - we were referred there by several other places so they are obviously well regarded in the care community.

My Mother's care at Juniper has been good insofar as Staff are able to communicate with her. Because of her severe hearing deficit and thus inability to communicate well, she seems to feel lost at times. Despite being invited to activities, I'm told she often declines, I'm sure, because she can't hear so can't participate. If possible, I ask for more attention to her hygiene -- hands & fingernails clean, dentures brushed, hair combed. But I sense her resistance sometimes, too, so all in all, I'm VERY HAPPY with Juniper Village as her home, and thank you to all of you!!!

We were so relieved to have been directed to Juniper Village at Aurora after having many problems and concerns at the two memory care facilities we had my father at previously. The setup of the building feels like a home, not a hospital, and offers lots of rooms and places residents can move around to so they don't feel confined or like they are in a hospital. The staff were amazing - they sincerely care and take the time to create trusted bonds with residents, treating them like their own family. Other memory care communities had frequent staff turn-over and were not nearly as qualified for the behavior challenges memory care residents experience. Many of the staff at Aurora Juniper have been there for several decades - totally unheard of in this space. There are too many instances to recall when the staff went way above and beyond to accommodate us. The staff is friendly, kind, well trained, empathetic and communicate very well. Special thanks to to activity director Sam, Akela head nursing, Sable, Ethiopia, Juan, Toya, Alba, Tremaine, Melia and so many others. Namaste hospice layered care at the end and ensured there was no suffering. My Dad was truly happy during his last 8 months at Juniper Village Aurora. Very reasonable pricing as well. Highly recommended!

I rarely post a review on social media but I feel compelled to talk about my experience with Juniper Village Memory Care. It is an Amazing place!! I was very desparate to find a decent place for my mom on short notice and Jackie Quinn took the time to tour the Center for me on Zoom. The staff and management at Juniper are Exceptional!!! They really took care of my mother, who initally had diffuculty adjusting to a new place. The staff treated my mother as if she was their mother. Donna, Daniel Bilques (the best) and all of the other support staff were exceptional caregivers in being patient, compassionate and understanding with my mother. My family also really appreciated the home-like environment of Juniper, always very clean and tidy. Finding Juniper was truly a blessing for our family!! Thank You!!!

This is a community I would place my parents without hesitation. Jackie and her staff are competent caring and loving all at the same time. I have cared for many hospice residents in memory care, and this is by far the best I have seen!

When it came time to move a loved one from her home into memory care, we contacted an independent licensed social worker ( LCSW, CMC) to help select a facility. She recommended four and we selected three to visit and interview. Juniper ranked high on her short list because they specialized in Memory Care. Now I understand why. Unlike so many places in the the healthcare community, they have very little turnover in the staff. Many of the staff members have been there for YEARS. They specialize in dementia care. They know how to deal with delusions and argumentative behavior. They have a four intimate homes (Mountain House, Lake House etc) organized around an enormous patio and other activity areas. Meals are cooked in a common kitchen, but each home serves meals in their intimate dining room. Each home has their own living room and private patio. Our loved one was a "particularly tough customer" when she was transferred from a local Psych Hospital via ambulance. Yet, the tenderness and kindness of the staff was amazing. Even at her most unloveable, they treated her with respect, dignity and caring. Unfortunately, during those first few weeks, our loved one was "a handful. She refused to bathe, she barricaded herself in her room, she refused to let her little dog outside to go potty. She thought her own family were imposters. Juniper’s staff told us, Don’t worry. It is part of the disease. They found subtle ways to work their magic, I was there often. I saw them quietly deal with incredibly challenging of behavior ,yet I never saw any of the staff "lose their cool. Daniel was on duty the first night she arrived. With great patience, he showed us around the facility. He noticed at her nails were long and then trimmed them with such tenderness. The food is delicious and family members are welcome to join in at meal time. Our loved one is a vegetarian (who does not like vegetables) and Annette cooks her a special breakfast of Huevos Rancheros in the morning. All the staff are available any time to provide coaching on how to deal with a difficult situation. Alba, in particular, has provided all the family with great advice. Juniper is special. I am so happy we contacted a Licensed Social Worker for assistance. Without her, I doubt we would have found Juniper on our own. Moving a loved one into memory care from their home is difficult. The entire family is so happy to know she is safe in Juniper’s care.

I am a Hospice Care Consultant for Brighton Hospice and had the opportunity to partner with Juniper Village at Aurora during a challenging last minute placement needed for a resident needing to find a right fit and Juniper Village at Aurora was the one. Jennifer Roy quickly jumped on it and made sure all the pieces needing to be done to assess and begin the move in process for the resident were done in record time . Her communication with Brighton Hospice was phenomenal and was followed by a truly welcoming environment, staff and administrator. Everyone quickly worked together to help the resident adjust to his new home and collaborated with the hospice team to ensure his comfort. We are thankful for the positive experience we were able to have with everyone.

I have had the opportunity to observe the staff at Juniper Village at Aurora from a professional perspective. I have attended several networking meetings at their location and the residents are never prohibited from wandering in and out of the room we are in - this is their home. The staff provides gentle redirection if needed, offers residents a drink or snack if desired, and treats each resident with the dignity and respect they deserve. The community is well maintained, the food is excellent, and I would certainly recommend families explore this location as a home for their loved ones.

My 90 year old mother has been at Juniper for a little over a year. During that time we have come to consider the other residents and staff as family. We are extremely fortunate that our mother, although battling dementia, is capable of appreciating many of the opportunities that make Juniper unique, like main floor living, good food, friendly and overall capable staff, and generous walking and outdoor sitting areas. From her chair in her room, (which during covid 19 she is spending the majority of her time in, ) she can listen to music while looking out through a large window into an open grassy area. Covid 19 has revealed many of the shortcomings of our society, especially in the health care industry, but under Tom Hunters leadership Juniper has proven that it is true to its mission and uncompromising in its effort to keep residents and staff safe.
