Reviews The Vineyards Memory Care
April 2026
Vineyards was acquired by new owners in July of 2025. They got rid of activities director, all their office staff, and have skeletal staffing at best. any resident can walk out the front door and no one would even notice as nothing is locked. We witnessed periods of 10+ minutes with zero staff in the building when they have to do something or get something in the next building. I was rarely able to talk on the phone with my mother, as virtually no one answers the phone. As family that lives out of state that is very frustrating. I had given the facility some spending money last year, shortly after the new ownership change. They used to take residents out on regular shopping trips so I thought not much of that. Fast forward to this year. I'm asking for receipts for her spending or the cash back. Angie, the administrator totally ghosted me. I had to get Adult Protective Services involved to finally get a response. They magically found the money and told me that they had lost it in the med cart. I know this to be a lie because they gave me 2 $50 bills back, and I know that I gave them $20 bills. There had also been coins in the pouch where they had the money that was left over change from her previous spending that I did not take and that was not there. I would have respected them had they been honest with me and told me that someone had taken the money but no longer worked with the company and they were going to make it right and replace it. But instead they lied. Do not bring a family member here if you care about them in the slightest. It used to be an okay facility, now it is horrible and families are removing residents. As they should. shame on [name removed] and his business partners. These are human beings and should be safe and taken care of. they should be more than a profit motive.

This facility is run HORRIBLY. The staff is incompetent and lazy, with the exception of a maybe 2 or 3 of them. The manager is an idiot, just makes excuses for things not being done properly. There are NO activities whatsoever in the building my father is in. All the residents have serious dementia and just sit around watching TV like zombies and some have serious mental illnesses that are not addressed. One of the residents in my Dad's building is getting moved out because he kept stealing items from my Dad's room for the last 2 months. The staff cannot watch him closely enough, or they're just lazy. They put a new lock on my Dad's door but whenever it's not locked this guy will take any chance he can get to go in to steal something. We've had to hide EVERYTHING that's out in the open. In his room, his toilet is FULL of feces. I've seen it when I and some staff have just recently been able to go into his room to retrieve the items he has taken from my Dad's room. Not just disgusting but probably VERY unhealthy. The staff won't do anything because they are afraid of the guy getting violent. DON'T move your parent or loved one into this place. The only up side to it is that it's fairly cheap, probably because it's run on a small budget by the owner who does not want to hire people who care about doing their jobs competently, especially anything unpleasant like scooping out backed up excrement out of toilet. Gross! Several residents have been getting moved out lately from both buildings. Most of them belong in full care nursing homes instead of assisted living, or they move to a better run facility. Again, there are NO ACTIVITES WHATSOEVER in my Dad's building and the ONLY outdoor activity EVER is a ride around town at Christmas to see all the decorations and a cup of hot chocolate! WOW!
