My father moved to Oakmont a few months ago. The staff is awesome as they provide everything he needs. He just loves it there and we also love the entire experience. They treat him with the white glove treatment with everything. Dad loves the activities and really enjoys living there overall. The food is also excellent with great variety.

I recently moved into Oakmont Parkway, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision to downsize. From the moment I toured this community, I knew it was the right place. Deanna, the Executive Director, truly set Oakmont Parkway apart from the other local communities I toured. She is so kind, and truly treats the residents like they are her own grandparents. Her positive and welcoming leadership definitely trickles down to the rest of staff and is felt throughout the community. Additionally, Dorothy has been a standout for me personally (the entire staff is amazing though); always checking in with me and ensuring that my transition to community life is going smoothly. She is always around to lend a helping hand, guide me in the right direction when I get turned around, and share pleasant conversations. I am so grateful for the level of care and support provided ” plus the food is AMAZING! I was most worried about not fitting in, or the community feeling too clinical, but I am so happy to share that it truly feels like home at Oakmont Parkway.

It has taken me longer than I should admit to write this review, but those of us who are caregivers, often get a break in our day. You see my current journey isn't an easy one, my mother has reached a point of full time care. Our last 4 years has been spent looking for apartments and independent living for her, to solutions offering a little assistance, to nursing and pallative care. Life moves at the speed of light. I've personally evaluated, researched, visited in person, many facilities in Macomb and Oakland County on my journey with mom. From end to end, city to city. Although no place, if you asked my heart, could ever care for mom the way that I could, or provide a warm home like my home... I dare say this place would give me the biggest competition. In elder care, assisted living, and even senior independent living situations.. there are places who "get it", and places who don't to the point of negligence. This place operates like a five star resort, with care and the attention to detail. Not only is the building and communal areas warm and inviting like visiting grandma's living room, but the residents are a glow and thriving. No matter their needs from independent to emhanced, they are all happy, active to their individual abilities and a glow. If my mother's health situation allowed, hands down, I'd find a way to make this facility work for her. Unfortunately in our situation, we are no longer at that point. Ive visited this place multiple times to tour, and for events. The staff although only meeting me on a few occasions, know me by name. Am I that memorable? Hmm.. maybe.. or are they so immersed into the lives of their residents that they treat them like family. This isn't the place with the high turn over in staff, filled with a rotating door, and people who are not passionate about their work. Its the opposite. From those serving food, those interacting with guests and running activities, to the administration, and managers, everyone genuinely wants to be there, cares about each and every resident, and watches over their needs and safety like an immediate family member. The building is modern, updated, clean, and so are the quarters for residents. The cummunal areas always have things going on. Classes, crafts, events, small groups, socialization. The food is fun, exciting, with menu itens of home cooked favorites. I've personally sampled it. The place feels like its own little indoor city, with library, music, happenings, that you don't have many needs for anything outside of it. They have nice sitting areas, and lobby areas, nice spots outside to get fresh air, while feeling safe and monitored where you would want an extra set of eyes. I feel safe there, mom feels safe there. I feel I wouldnt need to hover or worry. They really take pride in what they do. I understand getting older is hard, and needinh to explore living situations outside of the home while still offering a sense of independence cal be a challenging balancing act. I also know it can cost a little more than you might have thought... but I will tell you, if you are looking for a place in this area, looking for a place where you can feel comforted knowing it is safe and the staff is attentive and caring, looking for a place that has nice accommodations, that has services and activities.. look no further. This place is best in class from my experiences in Macomb and Oakland County. I hold all places to the bar Oakmont has set. Im also thankful for their comnunuty outreach. They constantly hold events open to the public so you can see first hand what they have to offer, and to engage seniors to show them what senior living and the journey is about. I was not paid to write this, or compensated, or encouraged. I wrote this to let those in my community know if they are looking for options, this is one of the places that gets it right. I've toured and researched, probably 30 different places. This is a stand out, hands down. I suggest seeing for yourself and taking a tour or attending an event.

My husband has enjoyed living at Oakmont Parkway for 3 months. The welcoming staff and residents made it quickly feel like home! The quality and variety of menu items exceeds the finest of restaurants. Serving healthy food and maintaining a clean, neat, and attractive environment is high priority. We moved my Mother into Oakmont Parkway this past month. With this being an emotional experience for my family, we couldn't be more pleased with the decision we made. We first met the Executive Director Deanna, and she was one of the many reasons why we chose Oakmont. Deanna was understanding, thorough, caring and very detailed with answering our questions. The rest of the staff is amazing as well! They are friendly, always smiling, very accommodating and professional. It immediately eased our stress and emotions. The rooms are very nice and clean. My mother doesn't have to worry about anything moving forward. They clean, take care of her laundry, make her bed, shower her and whatever else is needed. The food is amazing!! My mother is a foodie, and she enjoys every meal! Oakmont is also decorated beautifully. She lived to be 100 years old and Oakmont Parkway provided both a warm home and a loving family for her. The staff under the excellent guidance of Deanna, is exceptional! The facilities are spotless with great attention to detail. There are many activities and celebrations to choose from and the atmosphere is lively and upbeat. It was one year ago that suddenly I had to find a place for my dad. I knew nothing about what to expect while looking but in my heart I knew what I did not want for my dad. I looked a many (7 ) places. I did not make appointments to tour, I just walked in. I had not even made it inside and had already received warm hello's from a couple of the residents who were enjoying some fresh air in the beautiful covered patio. Once I went inside it just felt like "home" and I was immediately greeted by Kim, a staff member who truly had the most sincere welcome! The interior was nice, cozy and colorful unlike the other places I toured that were cold and sterile feeling. I believed I knew then I had found home for my dad. The move went smooth and the staff made sure it did. Fast forward to his one year at his home. Deanna, Katy, Barb, Sue, Dorothy, Ava Josh and all the staff are wonderful and have not wavered from the honest caring they have shown my dad and I see them show all of the residents.Even the residents are like one big family. Deanna really uses her imagination to put together some great get togethers to include the outside community also. My dad looks forward to the monthly entertainment, bingo, men's club and other numerous things for the residents to do. The food is great and kitchen staff just as wonderful. The community really has something for everybody and if you need to have some specialized Care, they do have Ace and Weston Group. We have used Ace and its been such a blessing, and Jake the Supervisor, is awesome and does what he can to guarantee that the care given is top notch! I know this is long but it is so comforting to know that my dad is happy, comfortable and in a loving community! You cant go wrong choosing Oakmont Parkway!

My mom has been living here since April 2024. Staff & Care is wonderful. We have never had any issues and the place is ran professionally. Residents are very much cared for. I eat the food with my mom sometime lunch or dinner. My mom loves the chicken noodle soup. Its made from scratch.Pot Roast is another favorite. It is good no complaints at all. I would highly recommend Oakmont Parkway for your loved one. Deanna and the team definitely know how to care for your loved one and do everything they can to help them adjust and feel welcomed.

Having my mom move here was the best decision we made. The food is good, the staff is extremely nice. They clean her apartment frequently, make the bed daily and do an impressive job with laundry! They have a beauty salon and a podiatrist that comes regularly . She is excited each day to visit with her new friends in the dining room and frequently sits out on the beautiful covered porch and chats. We feel so much more at ease knowing she is safe and not sitting alone at home. She recently was hospitalized for two weeks and upon her return, the staff was extremely accommodating in helping her with additional help.

When first entering Oakmont Parkway I was struck by the warm welcome provided by Cyndi Tanner, the Executive Director, and Deborah Palasik, the Business Office Director. Cyndi reviewed thoroughly the various floor plans and provided a tour of the facility, which is beautifully decorated. Toni Griffin, the site supervisor for Balanced Home Care, reviewed the care packages and assisted with the selection of the best option for my mother. The staff is focused on making the stay of the residents and guests as comfortable as possible. The dining staff are accommodating and helpful. There are also many wonderful activities provided to occupy the time of the residents. I would not hesitate to recommend Oakmont Parkway to any of my friends or family.

I have only been living here for 9 days and I just love it here. I have never lived alone or in an apartment but I love my apartment it is so beautiful and cozy. The staff here is fabulous each and every one of them. The food is exceptional. The other residents are very sweet and welcoming. Josh who does all the maintenance here is very knowledgeable and all you have to do is mention to him that you need something done he is there immediately to fix it. I know I am going to be very happy here. A very special thank you goes to my best friend/Sister Donna for talking me into moving here. She has changed my life and I love ’• her dearly. This place is great I am so glad I picked Oakmont Parkway to live. The food is really good I never can get hungry living here. The staff that cleans my room and does my laundry is exceptional and the rest of the staff is always very kind and available when I need something. A Community of Beauty. We couldn't have made a better choice in selecting Oakmont for my father. When we moved my dad there late last year, he was failing in health and had lost his zest for life after losing his lovely wife to cancer. Right from the beginning the staff was warm and welcoming in calling him by name and treating him, and us, with kindness. It immediately felt like Home! My dad has commented several times how nice everyone is. A few months later he's adjusted to his new surroundings and enjoying his life there. I've added some photos to show his progress as our family is happy to see him thriving in his new environment. I can't say enough good things about the staff. We are so grateful to everyone whom cares for our father and the entire community. I want to thank the women that clean his apartment, do his laundry, the wait staff and cooks, the hairdresser whom cuts his hair, the girls at Home Care Balance whom always say Hi, and to the Management team that greets us everyday, oversees the safety of our loved ones, and ensures everything runs smoothly. It's the Taj Mahal of Senior communities with it's beautiful decor and luxurious surroundings. I know if my father had selected his own place 20 years ago, he would be quite pleased that we chose Oakmont. It is because of the staff whom is caring for our families that it is truly a community of Beauty!

Our Mom has lived at Oakmont Parkway for the past 5 years. Although she was reluctant to leave her home and reside in a Senior Community, it has been a great experience. She has made many friends. The staff is outstanding. The food is wonderful and our Mom’s health and nutrition improved dramatically over living alone at home. It is great that she shares meal time with other residents. The staff is so caring. She frequently mentions Mark who usually works in the dining room. But all of the staff, from Cindy the Director to the housekeepers are caring and loving. They keep her linens and clothing clean and tidy. Her room is always very clean. Josh the maintenance guy is always helpful to make certain that everything works from changing light bulbs to fixing the cable tv when the input gets messed up. My Mom enjoys the many social activities, like Bingo and the many routine special events and days. She also loves to attend the rosary and mass which is available on site. The chair excercise class provides a diversion and a way to stay healthy. The availability of additional caregivers and rehab staff, podiatrist have been extremely helpful when needed. The staff has done a superb job navigating the challenges of the pandemic while keeping our loved ones safe. They have also done a great job of helping the families stay connected within safe limits. The on site beautician and nail technicians have been something that keeps her beautiful and she always looks forward to. THANK YOU OAKMONT STAFF. You are loved!!!

Last year my stepdad told me that he is no longer going to live in his house alone (up in the thumb) and I had about two days to figure out what to do. I reached out and spoke to Sheila who was absolutely wonderful and I was scheduled that afternoon for a visit. Then I met Cyndi, the executive director at Oakmont Parkway. I immediately felt comfortable with this huge decision as I noticed all the residents approaching her during the tour asking for various items. She was calm and responsive to all their needs. That was a good sign to me. Almost a year in a half later, I still could not be happier. They have been handling the COVID-19 virus spread appropriately. Restrictions have been significant which has been appreciated. They have been forthright with information throughout this situation letting the residents and family know about potential contaminations, etc. In general, the food is excellent, the place is clean and they have a lot of activities (prior to the virus). I feel extremely fortunate to have found this place and would recommend it to everyone.

All in all it's a very nice community. I would like to give a shout out to the Activity Team who go at great lengths to "entertain" us from birthdays, shopping, entertainment & list goes on. To the ladies who take care of my room & laundry, it always smells so fresh when done. (especially my apartment.The receptionists are outstanding, they help in anyway they can. You can pretty much count on a smile from them. Here's the tricky part, the food. You hear complaints but it they don't direct it to the server or dietary supervisor it can't be resolved. There are to many empty carbs, cheese items ect. Maybe a survey might help but don't want to open up can of worms. The rice one time was over cooked and had pieces of vegetables. One I thought looked like coffee grounds. The vegetables will be over cooked loosing it nutrients. I'm wish I could give 5 's.

Our mom moved in a little over a week ago, but the process started in May. The Assistant Director, Julie, has bent over backwards working with us and rehabilitation to get Mom moved in. All the postponements in the world never ruffled Julie and she kept us positive. Mom was nervous, even afraid, of moving in but the staff - from administrators, front desk, dining, housekeeping, activities, and auxiliary services (I hope I haven’t forgotten anyone) have been so nice to Mom. This place is awesome and the evidence is visible in the residents, who all welcome and socialize with each other in the same kind demeanor you see in the staff. We are thankful Oakmont Parkway exists!

Our Mom moved into Oakmont Parkway 2 years ago. It was such a relief for our family when she decided to make this choice. Then to top it off, she moved into a place where she is extremely happy. She is a social butterfly and this place allows her to be just that. They are constantly doing something. She has met many wonderful friends, loves the food, the staff and the bonus is all the activities. The place is like a 5 star hotel with the D©cor and cleanliness and we can truly say, we love more than anything that we feel she is SAFE there. Can I say "trust me", you won't make the wrong decision on moving your loved one here.

Since my Mom passed away our family is so thankful that Genochose to stay at Oakmont since he is so plugged in with all the people and activities here. He knows who to get in good with and thus frequently compliments the chef:-) We often gets calls as he is leaving his cell phone behind and will be out of pocket as his schedule is so full that day & he doesn’t want to be bothered answering his phone:-) Finding Oakmont for our parents was a true blessing from the Lord.
