Tatiana Powell, our move in coordinator, has been extremely helpful, kind and responsive to every question. I can’t say enough about how much this has meant to us during a stressful time and coming from out of state. The entire team we have worked with so far from our tours with Valencia Smith and Niya Stafford Hooks has been so very welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable and supportive. We are looking forward to Mom living at Lake Boone!

The staff at Waltonwood Lake Boone has been caring, thoughtful, respectful, and helpful in taking care of my mother-in-law living for many years in a lovely independent apartment. They guided our family in her recent transition to the assisted living level of care. Valencia and Nia were instrumental in expediting the initial move. Tatiana took over once we agreed on an apartment and guided her move, with suggestions, advice, and experience. She was always patient and listened to my questions and concerns; always getting back to me in a very quick timeframe. The transition was smooth, with the new apartment set up, decorated, and ready for moving in a 1 day timeframe. Thank you all for taking care of us, and especially my mother-in-law. Looking back, we are so happy with our decision in choosing this retirement home for her.

As a frequent visitor, I can attest to the clean, safe and happy environment enjoyed by all who live there. The staff is always professional and courteous “ and that goes a long way with me. And depending on what a resident desires “ quiet time in the library or participation in one of the many and varied programs/activities - there’s something to offer everyone “ and it’s refreshing to see the level of participation! One last note: If/when the time comes, Waltonwood’s AL and MC are available options on the same campus - a huge benefit to the IL residents/families. I hope this personal testimony speaks positively to any senior citizen considering WLB IL as their next home!

In honor of my Grandfather who’s health is declining, my fianc© (now husband) & I decided to drive down from VA to Raleigh to have an intimate wedding ceremony for my Grandparents who are residents at Waltonwood. Awkwardly, I called Waltonwood to ask for permission to hold this very small & intimate ceremony at the resort to make it easier for my Grandparents/Gfather to attend. Not only did Waltonwood grant me permission, but Christina and her team went out of their way to make the ceremony beautiful & custom. The grounds had a fountain flowing with water & string lights across the pergola, they had a stand with microphone for our pastor, had their in-house pastry chef bake us a 3 tier wedding cake, they gave us three table tops with linens in royal blue (my colors) to hold all things wedding & a bottle of Prosecco to end the event. Between set up, pictures, videos, celebrating & then clean up, I was seriously blown away by their hospitality & genuine excitement to do this for my family. I am beyond grateful that, not only do I have them to thank for a lifelong memory I will cherish, but I know without a doubt that they cherish my Grandparents & don’t look at them as just a resident, but also family. THANK YOU Christina and the Waltonwood Team!

My grandmother was the very first resident to move into this facility and unfortunately passed away this month. She started out on the independent living side and loved it. There were so many activities to do and always people to interact with. Once she got to the assisted living side I was definitely unsure. In my opinion it was much better on the independent living side than the assisted living. I feel as though the quality of her care went down hill.. I'm not sure if this was due to expectations I had, current or former workers or something else. I'd recommend independent living if it's possible but I can't 100% recommend the assisted living. It's also definitely an overpriced place in my opinion.

My parents moved to Waltonwood Lake Boone in April of 2021, and we couldn't be more pleased! The staff, the facilities, the food, the enrichment opportunities, the social activities....all has been wonderful. The beautiful facility is so conveniently located near the hospital, doctors' offices, shopping, restaurants, the beltline, and the Art Museum. 7/22/21 Over the past 2 years I've had the best of several worlds at Waltonwood Lake Boone, including a lovely apartment where I can relax in privacy and work on my card-making hobby whenever inspiration strikes. I'm lucky to have many friends here whom I enjoy dining, talking and laughing with. I can participate in the activities of my choice such as fitness, meditation classes and social events. However, maintaining friendships in my old neighborhood and through local organizations has also been important. While most of my family lives elsewhere, we stay connected with each other by FaceTime and Zoom. I have several dietary restrictions so I appreciate the Culinary staff's help in offering a variety of menu items I can choose from and in advising me about the foods that are safe for me to eat. Bryan Minton and Tyler Rockmore are especially attentive and accept feedback on my experiences. It's meant a lot to have them looking out for me and my stomach! It's been wonderful to participate in the Waltonwood Community more fully by serving on the Culinary and Ambassador committees during the past year. Being an ambassador enables me to meet and assist many new residents in adjusting to community life. Culinary Committee members meet with Bryan to learn what's happening, ask questions and provide input. When I needed physical and occupational therapy, I was fortunate to see excellent therapists see from Bayada Home Health on-site. They made therapy both enjoyable and beneficial, and often came up with innovative solutions to practical problems I faced in dealing with pain. Every resident has a different experience at Waltonwood. Among the reasons I came were the attractive decor, open layout in common areas and the huge amount of light in our building. However, the friendliness of the people I met moving here was the overriding factor since I felt welcome before even moving here.

WaltonWood at Lake Boone is not only high end luxury but it definitely has one of the most caring and friendliest staff, that I have ever experienced. My mother is a resident here and I had an opportunity to visit her as WaltonWood has reopened to visitors while still following some COVID protocols. I was not only impressed with the guest suite that I was assigned to, but I was taken back by having gourmet meals included with my daily room rate. The food was so high quality that I only went out to eat once and that was to celebrate my visit with other family members. ( Due to COVID,I could only eat in my guest suite with my mother) I was with my mother for most of my 5 day visit and saw her interactions with other residents and many of the dedicated staff members. The staff here interacted with a caring and patient demeanor towards my mother. My mother has been a resident at other comparable retirement properties. From the minute she visited with our family members, we knew WaltonWood was the best place for her to enjoy the rest of her golden years.

They have done an outstanding job with my Dad. We chose Waltonwood for many reasons prior to the Covid Pandemic (the facility/amenities/staff/reputation etc... When Covid hit they locked down and were amazingly successful in preventing a major outbreak. Since then they have bent over backwards to help him out maintaining connections however possible (safe visits/electronic visits etc). They altered programming and dining to take care of the residents and went above and beyond to ensure he wasn't just feeling isolated. I'm so thankful he is there, and I'm looking forward to once again seeing him enjoy all the activities and programming once again as the world slowly gets back to normal.

Waltonwood Lake Boone's Life Enrichment is awesome in providing opportunities to participate in a variety of decorative art activities and events. My mother has had firsthand experience as a resident. Shelly Levin, LE Manager, provides a fun welcoming environment, unique projects for individual creativity and an opportunity for friendships to grow. Some activities also connect residents to the community. I enjoyed seeing the hats mother knitted which were donated to cancer patients. A pet rescue will soon benefit from the warm blankets some residents have made. Mother has also shared wonderful descriptions of resident events. The Pirate Cruise and Masquerade Ball brought residents together for fun fellowship.One never knows what Shelly Levin will come up with next! I am so grateful that mother chose Waltonwood. Life Enrichment is a key component to enhance creativity,socialization and longevity!

Waltonwoods-Lake Boone has a hidden gem! Many facilities boast Life Enrichment but here we got'cha beat! During this past year we took a virtual world cruise, complete with passports, regional cuisine, entertainment and drinks. Our cruise director was marvelous! Once "ashore", we stayed busy with wii bowling, board games, playstation, sing-a-longs, cards, scrabble, billiards, darts and shuffleboard. Craft activities include one-on-one and group activities and residents have made cards and gifts for loved ones. All this, and more have been a welcome diversion from the past year's troubles. Remember, it's better to stay active and here you can stay "really" active, should you please! There is always something to do, and if your taste is for something else, our Life Enrichment director will try her best to accommodate

I've lived at Waltonwood Lake Boone since it opened over two years ago and I love it. Before the pandemic, I was busy every day with cultural and creative activities and felt healthier than I had in years. The food in our cafe and in the dining room was fabulous. I made wonderful friends and was surprised at how quickly I felt at home in a real community. During the long slow ups and downs of the pandemic, I feel even more lucky to be here. Our management team has been smart and effective in creating a safe and secure environment. We have had few cases of covid, quickly identified, isolated and treated so that we have nearly everyone now well and vaccinated. To keep us safe, meals have been brought to our apartments. We lost quite a few staff and took pains to find excellent replacements, but not without disruption of services which at times have struggled and stumbled, but pressed on. We enter 2021 with all hands on deck, most every staff member doing their best despite considerable personal stresses. Staff is knowledgeable, cheerful, supportive and always willing to listen to my worries or complaints and take them seriously. I would encourage anyone considering senior living in Raleigh to check out Waltonwood!

There are few words to describe how grateful I am that my mother was living here in her last months. Despite the COVID protocols, the staff worked hard to keep us in communication with the assisted living staff and with Mom, despite her increasing weakness and dementia. The kindness, gentleness and generosity of the caregivers was something that I saw every day. Our only window to her was through an Alexa device that we provided. Waltonwood staff assisted us by setting it up in her room. The staff really worked diligently and graciously to help us stay connected, despite the many technical glitches and the numerous times Mom would forget and turn it off.

While new and bright and aesthetically pleasing, this is not a skilled nursing facility, and the patient to staff ratio is horrendous, creating borderline negligence. Don’t plan on any assistance in assisted living. And memory care has no nurse. In fact, there is no nurse or LPN in the facility, and way too few med techs to administer meds and do tests on any schedule. This facility may be great for independent living, but if you need assisted or memory care, look elsewhere. $9000 per month for no assistance and improperly administered meds is criminal. So many residents have fallen and have been injured due to poor bathroom design also (improper drainage decline and standing water. The activities staff is two people, and both are not on every day. How can they possibly conduct activities with 45 people who need various levels of physical and cognitive assistance? In Singh’s expansion plan, they sacrificed quality over quantity and money. NOT a place you should put your loved ones. Too many deaths, falls, injuries, due to lack of staff.

I toured this place and found that, while it is aesthetically nice, it is not worth the steep cost. A one bedroom is roughly 6,000 per month for two people...and that only includes breakfast and dinner....the move in cost is one month's rent..not cost effective at all..many other properties offer residents more amenities abd and features for their hard earned money. Look elsewhere.
