The activities and activity director are amazing. There is something going on all the time. The staff are very warm and friendly. The rooms are spacious. Jose, the repairman is very attentive and capable. The only thing I don't like is the food and most of the other residents agree. It is absolutely horrible. It's tasteless mush or dry meat most of the time. They serve a lot of deep fried food and most is processed. The menu rarely changes and they seve a lot of leftovers with a new name. This would be a great place to live if it wasn't for the awful food and they refuse to fix the problem.

I have only had wonderful experiences dealing with this facility. I'm currently waiting for my mom to get a little older and then I'll drop her off

We absolutely love the View! It is a great place to interact with other like minded folks. You can always find a friend at meal time, or get together for games. There are activities planned constantly. Never a dull day. The staff and managers are fantastic. They really care about the people not the business end of things. They understand the nuances of living in Utah, near families, and other concerns. They always have a smile for you and are willing to chat if you want. It's worth selling your home and using the proceeds to pay the monthly rate. No more property tax, lawn mowing, or other home owner expenses. Best of all NO MORE COOKING! Be prepared to gain weight if you aren't careful. All in all, The South Jordan View is a great place to live.

My father has been a resident here for 3 years. Both he and my step mother have really enjoyed this place. We visit them several times per month. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is always good (some of the best from I retirement center I have had). It is always clean and the other retired folks here are very friendly. Great location also. Highly recommended.

My dad has been living here for almost 4 years. He moved in a year after my mom passed because he was lonely living alone. He immediately found new friends and has loved his time here. Everyone is so caring. A couple of years ago when my dad didn’t seem like himself at lunch they called us and first responders. He needed to be hospitalized after a reaction to a surgery he had. They have many activities to participate in - crafts, exercise, games, visiting entertainers, movies, and more. They always has festive decorations that help you feel the spirit of the season. The best part is really the staff! They are so friendly and really care about the residents. It makes me happy to know that he is living in such a great place with so many good people around him.

I am so grateful to live in this community where the rest of the residents rather quickly make you be part of them. The Front desk are always there to answer any questions from any of us. The kitchen and the server are always very kind to us. The Managers are making sure everything is running well. The housekeeping are very friendly and do a great job in our apartments. I am grateful to live in the South Jordan View Retirement Community.

We moved my parents in there about three weeks ago. From the first visit everyone has been so nice and very accommodating. Ray, and JimiAnn have been great and very responsive. If something goes wrong they are super responsive and get it fixed immediately. My parents have been very pleased with the food as well. It is so convenient to have just about everything they need in one place, including church on Sunday. The theater is amazing and very comfortable. All of the amenities are great! They have received incredibly warm welcomes from many of the residents and neighbors. We are very pleased with things so far!

It is a wonderful place to live. Everything you need in one place. The food is good. Anthony is the best chef. Kitchen staff are all wonderful and very helpful. The lifestyle coordinator is absolutely wonderful! Come take a look. You'll love it here, too. The post by David Tofte is for things that were happening well over a year ago. There is a new chef and things are being handled very differently than they were. Sounds like that was a personnel issue.

This is in response to a review from a resident, Julie Trowbridge. We've lived in South Jordan View for 18 month. It's been a wonderful transition from living in a 4 bedroom house to senior living. The staff is wonderul and always ready to help. When we've had an issue in the apartment, it's been addressed quickly. The food, well it can be great one day and average on the next. In reality, there 's no facility like ours, that every meal is going meet everyone taste. Don't like what is on the menu, just ask the kitchen to make something else for you. Yes, we do have a good amount of LDS members and yes we do have the privilege of meeting on Sundays in the theater; however, at no time has our managers, ever said no other church can meet here. And let's be honest here, having our Sunday meetings, in our theater, is not unusal to these communities. Everyone, my husband and I visited, had a place for LDS residents to meet. That does not mean that these places or ours would not facilitate another religion to hold services in their facility. We love living here. We have fun activities snd we've met some wonderful friends. As with all places like this, you have to be willing to come out of your room and be willing to participate. And let's face it, if you don't like where you are at, you can move. These comments are strictly those of myself and not of any manager .

I spent some time reading over the most recent reviews and came across one horrible review by a resident. It breaks my heart that Julie would say such negative things about a place she doesn’t truly know. You can’t judge a place you don’t know. I have been to every meal. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. I stick around to visit. In the amount of years I have been at this establishment, I have only seen Julie a handful of times. In her post she states that staff members have been replaced, which is true. However, in my time here, I have gotten close with the staff and those replacements were due to things such as individuals moving forward in school, sicknesses, needing to move due to spouses jobs, the passing of family members. Staff was not replaced due to things that would negatively impact the community. The issues she states about the building itself are not true. It’s monthly inspections which crew comes in and tests out all of the plumbing and mechanical in the building so they do shut it off during that time. The food has always been outstanding. Some residence just have a very sensitive pallet. They complain because they Choose to isolate themselves And so Complaining feeds boredom. I have been here since before it first opened. It is an exceptional place. The staff is incredible. The food is delicious. They continue to exceed our expectations every day. They go above and beyond to make residents and staff comfortable and happy. This place is incredible and deserves no less that 10 stars!

I’ve lived at South Jordan View Retirement Community for a little over a year. During this time, 3 of the 8 permanent staff have been replaced: executive chef, senior living consultant, and dining room supervisor. There is constant turnover in the kitchen staff and the housekeeping staff. There have been issues with the main kitchen appliances, electrical wiring, fire alarm detectors, water softener, burst pipes, and the awning over the front entrance collapsed to mention a few. This building is 3-4 years old. The main issue I have is concerns regarding the quality and safety of the food served here. Because of these concerns, I prepare the majority of my meals in my apartment. The executive chef’s poor performance is reflected in the low quality of foods purchased, poor food preparation, food safety violations, and the lack of appropriate supervision/training of kitchen staff. The job posting for an executive chef at this community offers a $75,000 to $78,000 salary (the average national salary is $90,000); previous leadership experience in culinary preparation and cooking is preferred (not required); required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, basic computer skills, manager food safety certification, and 18 years of age or older. Numerous food complaints from residents include: meats are undercooked or overcooked; vegetables are overcooked; food in the serving line is cold (should be hot); food is too salty; food lacks flavor; low grades of meat; low quality of fruits; staff doesn’t check if foods are missing or need to be replenished on the salad bar; missing serving utensils; tables/chairs are dirty. I observed several chefs putting raw hamburger patties on the grill and then wearing the same gloves to handle clean dishes and serve prepared food. Not changing gloves after handling raw meat is a serious food safety violation which can lead to foodborne illnesses caused by E. coli and Salmonella. Another post on Google about this community cites multiple serious food safety violations in the kitchen. This community is very LDS oriented. Dedicated office space has been allocated to conduct church business only (this office space is not available to residents), the LDS sacrament meeting is held in the theater on Sunday, and transportation is provided to go to the temple. On a positive note, the apartment is comfortable. The Lifestyle Director and the Lead Concierge do an excellent job.

My mom had lived there now for almost a year and loves it. The people there really are concerned for each other and become family. The activities are amazing. Every holiday they switch it up. They just had the Olympics and everyday was a new Olympic game they could play. The activity director goes above and beyond but everyone there does. The housekeeper, cooking staff, bus drivers, live in staff all become family. She loves the food too. I’ve eaten there a few times and thought it was great. They really try and make a lot of different things so they don’t get tired of it. Everything is right there too. They have a salon and a pharmacy pickup with a little store. They have a bus to take them to different places. Everything is right there. I would highly recommend this place!

Luxury apartments with concierge and an amazing dining room (staff and quality of food). Wonderful neighbors welcome every new arrival. Lots of activities, including dog pagents, happy hour, bingo, exercise groups, shopping trips, a book room, and billiards... I know I'm missing a lot of activities offered, but I can say my mother is staying very active with all her new friends! We are very happy having her live here!

This is a wonderful facility for retirees. My parents live here, and we're so grateful they are well cared for. The managers, Ray and Beate Dautel, along with everyone who works here, do everything possible to make residents and their families feel like one big family and ensure all their needs are met. The guest rooms are so comfortable, and everything is great. Thank you. Excellent place for retirees. My parents live here, and it gives us great comfort to know they are well cared for. The managers and everyone who works here do everything possible to make residents and their families feel like family and ensure their needs are met.

South Jordan View is part of the national chain Resort Lifestyle Communities They advertise as luxury retirement resort living. My parents were one of the very first residents to move in around January 2022 so everything is fresh and new. It is an all inclusive resort style community for adults 55 and over. It is not an assisted living or long term care facility. They have lots of perks like being able to travel and visit other centers free of charge. I have been very impressed with the daily activities they arrange to encourage social engagement. They have a huge 150 seat theater and let the resident book for family parties free of charge. So far, everyone has been wonderful

Incredible people and a company that really cares about the residents. Can’t wait for it to open!
