I was genuinely impressed with the community especially the beautiful atrium and the koi fish pond. The space feels so open and welcoming, which makes a huge difference the moment you walk in. What stood out most, though, was how caring and attentive the team is with the residents. You can tell they truly take the time to get to know each person and help them get involved in activities that actually match their interests. It feels like a place where people are valued, supported, and encouraged to enjoy life.

The atmosphere is fantastic, and the facilities are clean. Our daughters love visiting, feeding the fish, and playing games. They regularly have fun events and entertainment. It’s one of the most spacious, high ceiling and great feeling care centers we’ve been to. Highly recommended.

Fortunately a friend recommended IV of Brighton when we needed care for my mom. Marie, Lisa, Stacy really helped me through the maze of finding suitable care with very short notice. The facility is very welcoming and clean (shout out to the amazing cleaning/laundry crew!) The entire staff at Independence Village appeared to be have a vested interest in caring for the residents. Also, if you love to eat, this is the place to be! I'm thankful for all the folks that made my mom feel at home, and keep my family in the loop.

I had the pleasure of visiting this wonderful community! All the staff that I had the opportunity to meet were so welcoming with bright smiles and fun personalities. It was clear that they all love what they do! Got the chance to sample some wonderful appetizers from their kitchen which were awesome! All the residents I spoke with all seemed so happy and 'at home'. There is also a wide variety of fun activities for residents to enjoy, I saw first hand the line up of folks eager to sign up for the month's upcoming excursions! Five stars!

Was looking into this place with my mom. Really stands out above the others. We had lunch there (they provided) and it was great! Certainly not what we expected after being at other places. The kitchen or culinary department is on top of it for sure. Recommend to all.

You will not find another community that has longevity like the leadership at Independence Village Brighton Valley. In my opinion, that is the most important aspect in finding the right community. The team works so well together and truly cares about each and every resident.

You can feel the hominess the minute you step in the front door. The fireplace goingfolks gathering and chatting. Lots of activities throughout the day to keep everyone busy. Chef Dan has put together delicious menus with several choices every night. Sunday nights are sing-a-long, with special guests coming in. This is a real crowd pleaser. Also, Thursday afternoon is happy hour with special musical entertainment.and also appetizers and cocktails. The entire staff is very caring and compassionate. This is a great community to come to in those Golden years to sit back and be taken care of.

On May 14, 2023, I had the opportunity to bring my mother in law, to the Mother Day Brunch in which we were invited to. We tooked a tour of the community. And my mother in law, immediately said that this is the community that she wants be part of. The brunch was out of this world very appealing and very delicious. Special thanks to all the kitchen staff and to the cook who prepared the meal. The atrium is like a city of its own. Had fun feeding the fish. My mother in law was petting them. Having so much fun. She even noticed the coffee shop. In which she loves coffee. She got so excited when she heard that this community is pet friendly. The staff there made us feel like we were family, like we were home. Special thanks to Kim from the life enrichment department for all the information she provided and thanks to Joel for a fantastic tour of the community The flowerbeds and landscaping are very beautiful at this community. Now we know why, A place for Mom, highly recommended, them to us.

1/30/23 update: Since our meeting with the director for Laurus Home Care and Marie, the executive director at Independence Village, things have improved. They have upped the level of care for my mom with hourly checks and she has been receiving showers. Marie has been in contact with me on a regular basis to make sure the level of care has improved. Don't plan on getting a reply if your loved one has issues with the care givers. My mom has been there since October and is 100% disabled with no use of her legs, left hand and minimal use of her right hand. She has yet to receive a shower, only a bedside cleanup, they have not washed her hair, she has been told on multiple occasions that they do not have time to brush her teeth. If there is a shift change within half hour, many of the caregivers who are close to quitting time will not change her after she has soiled herself and leave her for the next shift. We were assured when she moved in she was at the top tier cost wise of care, but by December they raised her care costs several hundred dollars. We cannot get an explanation on why. Do your loved one a favor and skip this place. In looking back at all the "excellent" reviews I see that many of them are from employees, or my guess is friends or family that were requested to do a good Google review

(Based on visits to elderly parents.) This is a tough rating: staff shortages & some facility maintenance hurt score. Staff is friendly, & mostly 'on cue' but a handful of oversights have blemished overall impression, esp given relatively high pricing. FWIW, would consider IV as more oriented toward 'independent living' as opposed to 'assisted living,' & people with mobility & who enjoy some Social activities would probably enjoy staying there. Parking for guests is limited, but residence parking includes car ports. Interior space is inviting, & large enough to allow some exercise (ie: walking) during inclement weather without having to simply stroll monotone hallways. All-in-all, would find it a pleasant place to live if need arose - and budget allowed.

Amazing staff and people run this place but I’m having an issue with something else. Why are there birds and other animals that are locked up in small cages in the common areas, just for the geriatrics amusement?? That’s inhumane and abusive, these birds need to be given to a proper owner where they won’t be locked away in a cage 247 I can’t fathom how abusive this is and this needs to change. I’m not trying to be rude at all I have great respect for everybody there, you guys are such nice people and do great things and I hope you understand this is unbelievable and inhumane, I was very shocked to see this. The small cage in the front foyer area with two birds locked in it really disturbed me. I’m not sure who’s idea it was to do this but it’s disgraceful to the animals. Please free these poor animals who deserve to have freedom just like the Lord gave us. I can’t imagine how depressed and sad they are and it’s heartbreaking that they have nothing to do besides think about how trapped they are in a cage and can’t fly free like they should be. please give them what they deserve we as humans need to respect nature, not contain them like prisoners for others amusement. Please make some changes to better their lives cause right now I can garuntee they feel like prisoners with no freedom, they don’t act or react like healthy normal birds should and I’m sure being locked away has taken a huge toll on their poor lives, this is not normal. Thank you and please take this under serious consideration.

The community is beautiful and the staff is wonderful. There are tons of social activities going on everyday that makes it such a vibrant atmosphere. Their executive chef makes some incredible meals and it's so fun to watch residents sitting around the dinner table laughing and joking every evening.

Independence Village is an amazing community for Mom or Dad. The atmosphere is upbeat, friendly, and the live entertainment is absolutely incredible. The staff make it their mission to ensure the residents are having the absolute best experience every day. Many of the leaders have 10 + years of experience working with the company, and it's clear the residents thoroughly enjoy their time in the dining room and having fun with live entertainment.

From the moment I stepped into Independence Village of Brighton Valley I immediately felt like family. The staff is incredibly caring, sweet, helpful and did I mention awesome? I spoke with Marie the last time I was there and she is just a treasure and so caring to all the residents that live here. She knows everyone by name and genuinely cares for them. I don’t know if a better Independent Senior Living Community exists than Independence Village of Brighton Valley. The community itself was extremely clean and well maintained. From its gorgeous open environment looking out of a balcony to the beautiful rooms and designs they have. This is a place that is number one on my list. I have been a resident for the last 2 years and am so glad to that Independence Village is so close to my family. I also enjoy how pleasant the employees are, all of the amenities, all of the social events, but mostly the food - every lunch I get 1/2 of a sandwich and ice cream for dessert!

My parents have been residents at Independence Village in Brighton for two years. Several factors necessitated the move from their home of over forty years. They were reluctant at first. In reality mom was not getting the care that she needed and together they could not care for the home properly. Throughout the years, our family shared many good times at that house. The memories remain with us. Now, at a new address, we are making many new memories! My parents still enjoy hosting gatherings at their new home. Opportunities are endless when it comes to having friends and family visit. My parents have invited old friends over for private dinners prepared by their chef and have had birthday parties in the Atrium. When their grandchildren visit from out of town, they thoroughly enjoy the billiards room, fish pond, big screen tv, computer room and caf©. For my brothers and I, knowing that our parents are well taken care of is so important. Now when we all get together, we are truly enjoying each other’s company; unconcerned with mowing the lawn, the leaking dish washer and opening and closing the pool. We are confident that the entire staff has every resident’s health and well-being in mind with everything they do. My entire family is so happy with the decision they made to move to Independence Village.

This is a terrific place to live. From the homey living room and dining room and quiet and reflective atrium to the beautiful private apartments it's just the right fit for older residents. But what sets it apart from other places of its type is the staff. I have visited numerous time during the day and evening. Almost never fail to find a staff member sitting with a resident or group of residents in the living room by the fire. These staff members are kitchen employees, resident assistants, housekeeping staff, reception and management. I believe this makes a difference in the lives of the people who choose to make Independence Village their home.

When our mom required independent living on a quick needed basis in 2013, this fit the bill. But after a year, prices became way past the norm of the tri county area. My fault mom should have moved sooner. 2016 - Move down the street to Brookdale, same apartment, amenities, more within the realm of expenses. In actuality? At Brookdale, a lot more activity, interaction, residents around etc. The staff at IV were wonderful, Cindy, Kim, Lacey.
