April 2026
In Spring of 2025, I lived at Stoneybrook Lodge for 3 months. I was struggling with several health issues and I'd been dizzy every day for 6 years. I'd hoped that living at Stoneybrook might heal my dizziness, but I was sorry to find it did not. However, overall my mood and health did improve, due to the warm environment, kind residents, good food, and warm swimming pool. Paul Humphfill was so very helpful to me. He got me into a great Studio Apt., and I enjoyed spending time with other residents. A real highlight for me was the Bingo Games, three times per week. I even won several times! Now that I've been back in my large, two-story home for nearly a year, both my husband and I are finding our home too much to manage, what with 2700 sq.ft., a large garden, and a separate Studio Apt.! We are now BOTH ready to move out to Stoneybrook together. Paul found us a one Bedroom Unit, with two full Baths. We look forward to living out there, knowing that I will not have to prepare any meals. Somewhere along my path of aging, I've lost my former love of cooking, so I am excited to have my meals be nutritious and caringly prepared. I'm quite sure that Stoneybrook Lodge will provide us with more peace and joy than we have enjoyed so far! ~Carolyn Simmons Corvallis

The grounds are lovely, rooms are comfortable, and amenities are great. We get 3 great meals a day and my diet is certainly more well balanced than when I cooked myself. There are a number of activities every day but the best thing is the people. You notice immediately that both the residents and the staff are always friendly and happy so you enjoy every day.

Although we have only been at Stoneybrook for 4 months, I can say without a doubt it was the right decision for my husband John and myself. The staff, from the management on down, primary goal is to serve their residents any way they possibly can. We have enjoys the offered activities as well as the outings. The dining experience is like eating out at a restaurant with multiple choices and an opportunity to meet your fellow residents. I can't say enough good things about the so, so helpful! Thank you Stonybrook for making our transition to Senior Living absolutely pain free.

As a couple, we were recently hosted by Stoneybrook for a three day visit as if we were members of the community. We were given our own studio apartment and a key to facilities, including the pool across the street. Each day we ate three times in the bright and spacious dining area and joined a table with two residents of Stoneybrook. Every person we met was personally fascinating with a story to tell and individual interests that filled their lives and days with meaningful activities. As examples, one was a quilter, another a global photographer whose framed pictures adorned nearby walls, a third created Rube Goldberg mechanical contraptions that entertained visitors in the lobby. It was a pleasure to meet all these wonderful people: young and friendly dining room servers from local universities, senior staff who quickly became friends, and fellow residents. They all demonstrated how Stoneybrook is a vibrant community. Stoneybrook’s physical as well as social environment is welcoming. The building is bright and airy, with high ceilings and plenty of sunlight. In the evening, it is quiet and private…like the night. The surrounding neighborhood seems classically Asian, with well kept homes and yards filled with draping trees, colorful planters and surrounding shrubs. The safe and walkable area is laced with pedestrian pathways and highlighted by a two block long wetland of elongated ponds — one with a fountain, the other a cascade — that is home to wildlife. While on our walk-abouts, we saw grazing deer as well as geese and ducks. The landscaped ponds lead to an Oregon natural wildlife sanctuary of marshes, woodland and prairie with gravel pathways and boardwalks. The finances of living at Stoneybrook are another asset. We live on the East Coast and over time have studied and visited a half dozen senior residences. None compare to Stoneybrook regarding their social and physical environments. And none have Stoneybrook’s forthright and simple financial structures: monthly rentals scaled to options ranging from studio apartments to two bedroom, two bath cottages. Unlike most senior residences, at Stoneybrook there is no elaborate and expensive buy-in … just an advance of one month’s rent. We visited Stoneybrook as skeptics, based on previous visits to seemingly similar facilities. We came away realizing that someday Stoneybrook would be home to one or both of us. Randall and Roma

My Aunt lives close by and she has taken a turn for the worst w/cancer over the weekend. Hospice couldn't come right away and we needed disposable wet sponges for her mouth. In desperation I went and asked. Pleasantly greeted by the med tech, Cassie, she supplied me with some until our Amazon order comes in. The property was pleasant and inviting, lots of smiles from care staff. Thank you so much for caring! Marilyn

My mother moved into StoneyBrook recently and we both love it! The staff are warm and attentive, and mom's housekeeper is so friendly to both of us. We've always been treated with respect in the dining room....by the servers, the incredible Chef, and his friendly Sous Chef. There is a wide variety of food to choose from, and a person can eat as much or as little as they please. The maintenance man is friendly, knowledgeable, and completes projects quickly. One of the staff members, Paul Hemphill, is patient, kind, welcoming and warm....he took my mom under his wing from the beginning, and that made all the difference. The staff feels like family, and the activities keep mom busy and happy. As her adult child, I'm literally sleeping much better at night knowing she's safe, cared for, and surrounded by friends.

Stonybrook Lodge hosted their annual Easter event that was open to the community. I brought my children and I was so impressed. The staff was so friendly. Residents were out participating and hosting games and activities. They served snacks and had treats and prizes for the kids. The facility looked very clean and well kept. Lots of natural light, an exercise space, common areas for mingling and dining, as well as desks, computers and shelves of books. The residents seemed pleased to be there and were all so kind to share their space with the community.
