I lived here for almost 4 yrs and for the most part my husband and I were happy here. The food service is the biggest problem that has been going on the entire time. Now they don’t even have a real chef in charge of the kitchen. Since Provencial bought them, the menus are provided by the corporation and they are worse than when our own chef prepared the menus. Housekeeping is another problem. They hire housekeepers but they also have the duty of serving in the restaurant. Most don’t like this, but it is corporate policy. So they are always short of housekeepers. I went as long as 3 weeks without one to clean my house. Their cleaning consists of cleaning the toilets and sinks, vacuuming the carpets and mopping the hardwood floors. Nothing else done unless you ask and every time I did ask for something else, the employee was willing, but never had the time because they had to serve in the dining room after they finished cleaning and they just had a small amount of time for each place. When I came, Jill was the ED and things seemed to rum smoothly. But something happened and the whole administrative staff was fired. They have gone through 2 ED’s and are looking now. The Business office manager, Stacy, does a very good job of keeping things running as smoothly as possible. The price increases every year are pretty steep, around $250/ yr. And they cut out some things like toilet paper and trash bags that used to be provided and the residents now have to buy. The activities are sparse and not well attended. The director doesn’t have the imagination that the previous well-liked director did, so unfortunately the new one is compared to the old good one. Overall, Solstice is a nice place to live as long as these problems don’t bother you. The price is expensive, which is why I had to leave, but I would guess that they are in line with other similar facilities. The people are nice and I do miss my friends. It is easy to make friends in a place like Solstice compared to apartments, but I just couldn’t pay over twice what I am paying for a very nice 2 bedroom 2bath apt in downtown Lee’s Summit. I do have to pay utilities and for food, but I will still save $2000. a month by living here.

Came up from Joplin, Mo to visit a friend that resides at Solstice, we stayed for lunch and all the staff was friendly and the facility was clean and very welcoming and warm.

Small community apartment complex for independent senior living. One of our family members was a resident for 3+ years. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The quality meals per day and many social activities daily. Highly recommend you tour if you're looking for a home for your independent senior.

The staff is very friendly, professional, and takes excellent care of my Mom. They mention any concerns they have and vice versa. Very easy to work with. The food is great (personally eaten several meals there). Her room is a nice 1 bedroom and suits her needs. She has a balcony and can sit out there enjoy the fresh air. I believe they offer good service for the fees that are charged.

It's been a while since we were able to find the correct place for our family member this place looks like a hotel with very clean and spacious rooms and balconies and it's affordable our family member We are all finally pleased.

I just want to say how amazing solstice is. Everyone has their own opinion but mine, all I have to say is amazing! Jill and her team truly care about these residents. Everyone has their own personal lives but you can tell they loves these residents like their own family. I don't think people really understand what Jill and her team really do behind the scene and how much work and effort they put in. Yes things can't always be perfect that's life and the fact no one wants to work anymore but them they never stop working or trying to make these residents happy and that says alot. Ian the new cook has definitely turn things around for the kitchen and the food is amazing! Risa the concierge is always smiling and bubbly! Always ready to greet! Susan is the sweetest! Always helping and will not hesitate to answer any questions you may have. Shawn in actives keeps these residents on their toes! Always has something fun for them to do. Their maintenance Andrew is quick and fast. Always gets the job done! Desiree the Business manager no matter what she is doing or in the middle of she will always stop and will help in anyway, when it comes to the residents, families, teammates or staff. Jill is an amazing leader, truly cares for the residents, and has put together a great team! And the place looks fabulous!!!

As a first responder to this facility I have to say that the new management and staff have brought this place back from the prior intermediary management that was in place just prior. Jill has brought back the resident first priority and really cares about the care and attention the residents receive. Desiree at the front desk is always pleasant and also embodies the resident first attitude and helps whenever needed or asked. It makes me happy to see the changes they’ve made over the past few months since taking charge. Keep up the good work!

This is a beautiful facility. The staff were very informative and helpful. The floor plans are very accommodating. The dining room was very spacious and welcoming. Just concerned that my mother and disabled sister need a little more hands on care.

This place is absolutely amazing! My grandma loves living here. The staff and managers treat every resident as their own family. I think everyone should have their parents/grandparents here if they can't stay at home alone. Amazing place.
