About Plum Landing Retirement Community
When Plum Landing first opened in 1962 as a non-profit, their goal was simple. Provide a secure, quiet, and peaceful atmosphere for independent adults 55 and over. Our board of directors are local leaders with roots in nearby businesses, with several having family members that call Plum Landing home. Because we are a non-profit, Plum Landing is able to provide the best senior living services while staying affordable. A properly managed trust and donation support allows Plum Landing to give residents and family peace of mind, not just during strong economic times, but during slow financial years that may cause other communities to struggle.

Studio and one bedroom apartments are available. Every unit has a full bathroom, as well a fully-equipped kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave, sink, gas range and oven and adequate cabinet space. All resident living spaces also have outdoor space with a view of the Fox River.

Highly recommend! The Staff: 13 of their staff members have been there for 20+ years. The longevity is absolutely unheard of. The Food: It's not called Plump Landing for no reason. Truly a fine dining experience. The Views: Any way you slice it, the river & park views from your patio or balcony are beautiful at any time of year. The Vibe: The community is older but has been well maintained and upkept. Family oriented. Residents are referred to by their names, not apartment numbers.

Plum Landing is a wonderful community. Each apartment has a balcony with a beautiful view. The dining room and food are excellent. There are a variety of options for lunch and dinner. It is obvious this not run by some big corporation. The staff is caring and experienced. Many have worked at Plum Landing for decades! My mother has enjoyed 17 years in her apartment. Over the years, we have been able to add services as needed to keep her as independent as possible while keeping the cost of her care exceptionally low compared to an assisted living facility. Through an agency partner, she has help each morning for 30 minutes. We are grateful every day for Plum Landing and the incredible safe, caring, environment that they provide for active seniors in our community.

I give Plum Landing the highest of recommendations for yourself or your loved one. Don and his staff were always kind, clear and informative. The food was excellent and we were able, as guests, to eat in the dining room with our relative. My special diet was even accommodated. We chose Plum Landing when we needed a safe, secure, kind, clean, affordable housing for a relative, and we found just that at Plum Landing. My relative has always been treated well; I have always observed staff to be friendly and kind. If you are looking for options that accommodate both independent senior living as well as possibilities for outside assisted care to come into the facility, Plum Landing is just the place. An additional bonus is that Plum Landing is on a hill overlooking the Fox River and the grounds are lovely.

Our mother recently moved into Plum Landing and we cant say enough about how helpful, warm and friendly Don and his staff have been. Moms apartment is very nice and has a lovely view. The other residents have been welcoming and friendly. She has found the food to be exceptionally good and is impressed with the quality and the variety of what is offered. We are grateful that she is in a lovely, safe spot that offers many fun activities and a chance for new friendships with other active seniors.

Our mother moved into Plum Landing recently and we cant say enough about this fine facility. The staff has been so friendly, warm and helpful. Move-in flowed well right from the start. She almost immediately met a couple of neighbors from right across the hall who couldnt have been more welcoming. Moms apartment is very nice and has a really beautiful view overlooking the Fox River. There are many lovely gathering spots inside and outside the building, and activities to keep people engaged with each other. She has been really pleased with how wonderful the food is, as well as the variety of meals offered. We, her family, are so grateful that Mom is in such a lovely, safe environment with folks who enjoy doing many of the same activities as she does. Thank you Don and company for all you do for the residents of Plum Landing.

I am totally pleased with the food, staff and the condition of the building. I absolutely recommend Plum Landing! It is a pleasure to wake up every morning as I enjoy my beautiful spacious apartment.

The staff is caring, helpful, loving and mean everything to me! The food is really good. When I spoke to the Aurora ambulance staff they stated that Plum Landing was one of the nicest places and the staff is helpful and the facility is really clean! I agree with them 100%.The people that live here are very friendly and many fun activities.

My wife and I have been residents of Plum Landing for seven years. We have established wonderful relationships with fellow residents, enjoyed outstanding meals and from our private balcony cherished fabulous views and serenity offered from the Fox River. The staff treats us as if we were a member of their family. The place is very affordable, no huge down payment up-front, and our rent has been locked-in since 2013. Plum Landing is a place where you get to know everybody by their first name and is truly an enjoyable place to live!
