Nice and friendly residents complimented with an awesome, kind, friendly and caring staff. Never knew a place like this existed. Can not say enough kind words for this utopian world at Era Living at Wallingford. Outside people could learn a lot from this wonderful community. Their food is 10 ⭐s. Dan Palmer, executive chef and his hard working passionate staff: produce a very large variety of top quality food choices for their residents.

I have lived at University House Wallingford for 4 years. The residents are really interesting and interested in the world around them. The staff is very thoughtful and attentive to our concerns and ideas about programs. The surrounding community is very convenient (post office, library, grocery, etc.). But I really like the fact that this is a family-run business. So it is with great sadness that I will be leaving to move nearer my family. A major consideration for me in relocating was to find another family-run facility. That makes such a difference.

I moved into University House Wallingford before I had to, a couple months shy of my 71st birthday. That is, while I could still drive and still manage my home. I looked ahead and could see that a time would come when both the house and the car would become too burdensome and I would have to move out of my house. I decided to be proactive, to move to a retirement community while I could still be an active participant in the internal community of the residence and in the external community of the city. University House Wallingford is well-situated along two bus lines, the 62 and the 44; frequent service on both lines and the connections to light rail, other bus lines, and the Washington State Ferries opens up the city and beyond for exploration. For folks who either cant or dont want to explore the city on their own, University House Wallingford offers a wide array of programs in the community, excursions to local parks, museums, galleries, restaurants, concerts, opera, movies, etc. My message is simple: Life does not end when you move out of your home. For me, University House Wallingford has been a new beginning, a new chapter, offering a panoply of possibilities that I am able to enjoy and that help me expand my sensibilities and my universe. No, I dont miss having my own car or my own home; the absence of those responsibilities has freed up more energy for me to explore the city and beyond and to continue to grow intellectually, socially and emotionally. Try it! Youll most likely like it!

If you want to have a peace of mind knowing that your loved one is well cared for, dont waste your precious time looking for a retirement home other than University House Wallingford. Their staff are always kind, respectful, compassionate, reliable and trustworthy the staff goes beyond the call of duty to care for their clients and assist family members. Cindy Van Hook, Community Health Director, Karla Clark, Community Relations Director, Gillian Mukula, Personal Services Manager, and Albert Munanga Interim Executive Director, are all efficient, professional, easy and kind. University House Wallingford staff will became like family to you. What a wonderful retirement home! Warm, caring, considerate staff. I highly recommend University House Wallingford.
