The building is beautiful, however, the concierge is rude, unprofessional and aggressive. I visited the Chamberlin on October 27, 2024 and a woman on the staff was so hateful, I felt physically threatened. I cannot imagine living there if the staff is that mean-spirited. Be careful, if you choose this community.

The food was extremely bland for the price. Prime Rib didn't have any flavor. The Omelette was very good! The Salmon not an ounce of seasoning. The vegetables no seasoning. For the price they charge the food could definitely be tasty. The beverage options was extremely limited as well. I brought a large party there to try it and unfortunately we were not pleased.The view was nice

What a beautiful waterfront community! I had the pleasure of enjoying Easter Brunch this weekend and the food and the service were outstanding. The staff I encountered from the front door reception, to the hostesses, to the waitstaff were so all so friendly and professional. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great brunch experience.

Buffet had a wonderful variety of breakfast and lunch foods, Belgium waffles made to order were good. Oysters Rockefeller was good. Very professional and friendly staff. My only issue was food was cold and I definitely missed the live piano player that was so nice while having brunch.

Well, it was our anniversary so we wanted brunch. A friend recommended, so we went. Meeting the host Nadine was very warm and welcoming. Now the staff after her, cold and uninviting. Our waitress never told us what was available since they have various stations. Desert, seafood, omelet, waffle and carving stations along with the buffet. My friend also mentioned 2 mimosas came with the brunch. Our waitress never mentioned it, so I asked. Of course she said yes. The next warmest person,next to Nadine, was the omelet lady. That's what I jokingly called her. She smiled as though she enjoyed what she could produce. The omelet was good as well as the waffles. Our waitress did mention the waffles were delicious. Overall, it was ok with thumb sideways 50/50. I may not return. But, you may enjoy it but I wouldn't recommend it. Wasted a $100.

I toured The Chamberlain (55+ community) with Nicole's friendliness and it went well above my expectations. Having lived on Ft Monroe while on active duty & gone inside the Chamberlain when it was still a hotel, I'm VERY happy it was restored & is being preserved respectfully for a community of seniors that appreciate it as they age in the best retirement community I've yet visited during my search for a retirement place to call home. It's pricey but it's well WORTH it!

The Chamberlain is my dream home. It's the place I would love to wake up every morning to take a stroll along the boardwalk overlooking the Cheaspeake Bay. I have had the pleasure of eating at one of the restaurants for Sunday brunch and at can bare witness to the best foods that will satisfy anyone's appetite. The view over the Cheaspeake Bay is priceless. With Fort Monroe as her home, tenants have access to its beach, boat docks, fishing, bicycling trails, museums, and much more.

Breath taking,beautiful,peaceful, good food good entertainments for residents and family I wouldn't have know about the The Chamberin until I had a private duty resident living there no longer there but since then I still drive out there and walk on the board walk I would love to work with there doing private duty the staff are friendly and kind you can't go wrong with The Chamberlin I would love to retire someday and live there

My mother and grandmother live there. The views are spectacular, the staff is pleasant and helpful, and there are fun events and amenities. Theres a grand dining room, a bistro, and a bar. The grand lobby is nice for socializing, as well.

Ive been at the Chamberlin for 2 years now. I like all the activities both physical and mental here. I enjoy the space to ride my road bicycle , walking in and across the old fort moats, picnics on the ramparts playing scrabble under the shade of a great 400 year old live oak and splashing on the protected beach. The volleyball games in the pool on Saturday mornings are among my favourites. The full time life enrichment director schedules parties, dances, karaokes and outstanding guests even string players from Julliard school. Book clubs, Handbell choir and choir provide me with afternoon and evening stimulation. At night I sleep looking over the channel of the Chesapeake Bay as ships of all descriptions pass by. What is not to like about the Chamberlin?

Who would have thought this place even exist. Its beautiful, its enchanting, it is the place that if my parents was alive I know that the Chamberlin would be the best place for them. I love the staff, everyone is willing to help or give directions. Kudos to the ones who did the decorations! Beautifully decorated but buffet presentation was lacking. Food was fair but just lacked a little pizzas . It use to be comparable to the Williamsburg Inn but is far from that now. At $30.00 per person, felt it needed a little more sparkle.
