My uncle has been at St. Benedict's for several years. He's now on the skilled nursing side after several years on independent side. My family and I are impressed by all the amazing care!!givers, kitchen workers, maintenance, and management and fellow residents that have helped my uncle and us to get him settled in and feel at home on the independent side these past years. Now, the skilled nursing side nurses, doctor K., staff and again management and maintenance are doing the same to help him settle in on this side. Thanks to you all. God Bless you.The Collins Family.

My husband was sent to St.Benedict Rehab in Niles Il after his hospital stay. The facility is well kept. The rooms are nice and cheery. They offer various activities for the residents as well. The nursing staff and aids are simply the best. They are very attentive to the over all well being of their patients! A personal shout out to Cora. She has been instrumental in maintaining my husband's recovery wound care. The administrators are awesome too. They work with you and keep open lines of communication regarding info on how my husband is doing. There are a lot of rehab facilities in the area but I'm so glad that we chose St. Benedict's!

My father spent several years there beore he passed. He was well taken care of, and treated with respect. Ten years later I needed to put my mother in a home and much to my surprise Stacy Ladra is still working there. She was MOST helpful with getting my father in and acclimated and I was thrilled to know she was still there. She's been every bit as helpful with getting my mother in and acclimated as she was with my father. I admire her work ethic as well as her helpful attitude. There's nothing I cannot talk to her about and know that action will be taken to fix whatever the minor snafu is. She really is a huge asset and advocate for the residents. Lastly, the biggest plus to St. Ben's is that my mother is able to attend or watch mass every day. And they have rosary devotion several times a week. That's a huge benefit and I'm sure is the main reason many Catholics come to St. Ben's.

Some staffs are very helpful and courteous. My friend that I visited said that if everyone working there can empathize with their patients, they will quickly recover from their medical issues.

I visit my relative often at St. Benedict, on Touhy Avenue. I see that all that interact with her know her by name and care about her wellbeing. From the deacon, CNAs, activity personnel, physical therapists, and meal servers they do their best to her needs. Family wants their loved one safe, clean, and as engaged as possible. We are finding that, here. Thank you to all that help my relative. We appreciate your work and efforts. B. J.

Like the rest of nursing homes, there are ups and downs. When many residents need help at the same time, unfortunately quite a few need to wait for assistance. The staff is caring and helpful, never intentionally ignoring anyone. They get to know the residents and learn their behavior and needs.

This senior citizen home was an experience that I will never forget and wouldn't trust my mothers health with. I pulled her cause I was unsatisfied with how they handle her care. Specially, the primary doctor which was Dr. Jagielo. This doctor and his office crew are very rude and obnoxious, very unprofessional.

Transitions are difficult. St. Benedict's nurses and their supportive staff made my husband's transition from the hospital safe and seamless. The way they treated his needs and many medicines, with smooth and kind professionalism, left us both feeling confident that we made the right choice. Thank you. Linda, Ed's wife.

April 2023
If I could give St. Ben's 10 stars, I would. This is my dads second stay for rehab and wound care after a long hospital stay. Everyone greeted him and welcomed him back with open and loving arms. It's not often you find a facility that actually CARES about its patients. From the nurses, nursing assistants, the social workers, the Director, rehab therapists - EVERY single person has been a step above the best. Not only do they work to accommodate the patients needs but they go ABOVE the needs to ensure that the patient is safe, clean, and comfortable (down to his clothes)! If he didn't bring a long sleeve shirt with him, they provided it. The nursing assistant is doing Gods work and is an absolute angel. He bragged about how she wakes him up "gently" daily, helps to bathe him & even combed his beard and what little hair he has left, makes sure he is fed and dressed before every radiation appointment 5 days a week. His wound care nurse is an absolute sweetheart and she is on top of cleaning and attempting to keep it infection free. Prior to learning that this wound was cancer, a nurse named Margaret was his wound care nurse at home - she saved his life when she noticed that wound was infected. It turned out that Margaret also works for St Ben's part time. When I tell you, God and our angel (my mom) sent us angels on earth to help my Dad, they all work at St. Bens. I live in Ohio and I have been back and forth to be there for him, but I can go home to take my child back and rest comfortably knowing he is in Angels hands at St. Bens. Thank you for everything that you do. It is not an easy job and not always rewarding but know that you are doing Gods work and you are ALL appreciated from the bottom of our hearts. The Stambolic/Zeiler family

Ascension Living Saint Benedict Village nursing home has a warm welcoming atmosphere. I am so pleased my mother was able to get a room there. It's very clean and the residents rooms are designed more like bedrooms and less like medical/hospital rooms. There are numerous activities everyday in which to participate. There are activity rooms. dining rooms, an ice cream parlor, a beauty salon and chapels. Staff members are very pleasant and accommodating.

February 2023
It takes a few days to adjust to the routine of St. Benedict Village's but once the care recipient, the family, and the staff get to know each other everything is 5 stars. This 5-star rating is hard-earned by all staff - administrators, maintenance, and health care. My mother-in-law thank you all for making her feel safe and cared for everyday. My family, on the other hand, will try to emulate the joy that you all spark in her. Thank you and God bless.

I visited my stepmom today, 8/2223. She was in the dining room with two of her friends and we all stayed and visited I think they had a good time - I know I did!
January 2023
The staff is very friendly and professional. The only two concerns I had was PT and food service/ dietary. I had to make sure my grandad was getting PT ( main reason why he was here) had to ask to make sure he received PT and asked to make sure he got out of the bed everyday. Food service/ dietary they gave him foods he didn't like and or was too hard for him to chew. Therefore, I had to sub in food from home with their food so he would eat it. Also, dietary aide named Maria moved my grandad items I was feeding him in the dining room that was properly labeled and put in her dirty cart. When I tried to explain that to her, she was very rude and told me that it should been there. She saw me feeding him. Other than that, my grandad was taken care of.

Sending a love one anywhere for rehab can be very frightening. St Ben's has handled me, as well as my mother with kid gloves. It's an all hands on deck kind of a place. Anywhere else unheard of, you often see the Director and Administrators transporting patients for visits and addressing personally whatever is needed. Answers are immediately given, requests are actively listened to and addressed. Physical therapy seem to be on top of their game as well. With a 90yr old, that's saying a lot. For as apprehensive as I was to have my mother there, the entire experience has been top notch.
December 2021
Staff are good to my husband even if he often time so crabby and agitated they were kind and patient to make him calm. The leadership team are very accommodating to my request . I recommend this Rehab place
December 2021
The environment was very clean and quiet. Their protection against spreading COVID was very good! The staff was very accommodating and helped us to celebrate our loved ones birthday. Of course, they probably could have had another staff member available, but staff shortage is a problem everywhere. The staff they do have were pleasant and professional!
