Reviews The Fountains of Hope
April 2024
Fountains of Hope is a lovely facility and my mother was very well cared for during her time there. Staff are very caring and attentive. I gave only a three star rating due to the following- We signed up mom to live in the beautiful assisted living side. Within a month of moving her in, the Director of Nursing at the time (no longer there) was constantly calling me with incidents/behaviors from mom. She continuously suggested a move to memory care. I was already anxious about such a lifestyle change for her and the added anxiety and worry I felt whenever the phone rang I feel was unwarranted. I needed kind gloves and I wasn't getting that. A little more education for me from experienced geriatric caregivers should've happened and it didn't. I started feeling harassed to make the move. We did end up moving her to memory care. Memory care is VERY different from the assisted living side we originally signed up for, but mom was still being very well cared for. This is the main reason I decided to write the review. I gave myself six months after moving mom out of Fountains, and I am still feeling unsettled about the situation and how it was handled. So, enough time has passed… Mom ended up in the hospital a year and a half after she moved into Fountains. The surgery she had caused her body to significantly weaken and she went to a skilled nursing facility to recover. Fountains sent the salesperson and a brand new nurse to evaluate mom at the facility prior to moving back home. Based on their assessment, they said she couldn't come back. I find out at that point they had decided a few months earlier not to renew their Extended Congregate License. When I signed mom up to live there they had the ECC license and mom was in the assisted living side. We even gave Fountains mom's burial documents for when the time would come. I thought what we signed up for was going to be her forever home and they would take care of her no matter what, not kick her out. I wish they would've let families know about the change to their license when it happened. The elderly age and weaken and need more care as they get older. I am still baffled that assisted living facilities just kick residents out as their care needs increase. Again, mom was very well cared for during her time there. However, we definitely did not get what we signed up for…

My mother-in-law has lived at The fountains of Hope for three and a half years and has received excellent care. I am completely baffled by those of you who are giving one star reviews because I wonder if we're talking about the same place. As a Born Again Evangelical Christians I see the face of Christ in everyone who works there. Maybe there's been a bad apple in the bunch, thankfully my mother-in-law has never experienced that. If you're looking for a well-maintained loving and caring community for your family or friend I would highly recommend The Fountains of Hope! Update to my review, 2023 my mother in law lost her oldest son. When I called The Fountains of Hope to let them know, they immediately went to check on her. They were very caring and paid even more attention to her, if that was possible! Then a few months later, my MIL fell in her shower and needed 24 hour care. Again The Fountains of Hope went above and beyond to help us get the extra care she needed. When she passed away a few days later, they held a mini memorial service for her, so the residents could share memories of her and say their goodbyes. I can't imagine my MIL spending the last 6 years of her life in a more loving, supportive and caring facility!!!

My father is suffering from dementia and could no longer remain in his home. We toured several facilities in the area and The Fountains of Hope was the best one. The staff, including Steve Caruso and Denise Kircher, were very helpful and understanding of our situation. Steve reached out several times to guide us through the process and answer any questions we had. His move was seamless and he lives in a nice one bedroom apartment. The place is nicely decorated and very clean. They also have a beautiful outdoor area for residences to enjoy. My father is in a safer place and the staff has been welcoming and accommodating. He enjoys the activities, talking to new friends, and eating in the dining room. Tom Dow, the Health and Wellness Director, helped us coordinate his doctor appointments and medication. We feel fortunate to have found The Fountains of Hope.

Love this place, but staff turnover very high and feel never enough staff to meet resident needs. The staff runs constantly. Its lovely and everyone wonderful, just need more staff and to keep those they have.

I have been very happy with the care my husband has received at The Fountains of Hope for the last year. Because of their ECC license, they were willing to take him when most other ALFs refused him due to his having been Baker Acted. He is in the Memory Care side of the facility and the staff there are incredibly warm and caring. I do think they could use more staff, but I also think that is true of every facility of this type. I eat lunch with him almost every day and we both think the food is excellent and the choices are usually good. We tend to choose from the daily menu, but they also have a wide range of standard items such as hamburgers, chicken tenders, grilled cheese sandwiches, etc. which are always available.

Ive lived at the Fountains of Hope for four months and believe its a great place to live. I have recommended this community to my friends and family and will continue to do so. My Mom has been at Fountains of Hope since January of 2017. The staff and administration have been wonderful to work with. We are just coming out on the other side of Hurricane Irma. Fountains opened their secure facility to families of both staff and residents as a safe place to weather the storm. I was able to be with my Mom during the storm as were so many other family members with their resident. What I saw was an extraordinary community of care and concern that went far above and beyond expectations. They truly care about their residents and worked so hard keeping up with the needs of the residents as well as the extra burden of so many added visitors. Food, water and pet accommodations were provided to anyone that needed it. Well done, Fountains. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for Assisted Living or Memory care for a loved one.
