I worked there for one day and the stove for one was filthy. That's all I could really look at and I say it was pretty unprofessional because lot of people called in at the last minute when I was there on my first day and I was just there thrown out there to make breakfast didn't know where anything was in the kitchen, the communication is horrible there. I did the best I could do too much going on for the little amount of money they pay. And HR person was nice & professional. That's all I can really say about the staff.

Wow, this place is the best. Moving my dad has taken a lot of brain power but everyone here was so incredibly helpful. I wish I could call out everyone by name (and sorry for any misspellings) but Laura, Lynette, Tanya, Summer, and everyone in House A have just been fantastic. This was the best decision for my father, the energy there is so much better than the place he was currently in. Plus they always seem to be cooking and it always smells SO good. In the last 4 years, our dad went from an independent living facility, to 2 different assisted living places, to memory care, and then to Mustang Creek Estate's (in a Memory Care house). Bottom line, we wish we had discovered Mustang Creek Estates 4 years ago! One of biggest assets to MCE is their 'all inclusive' monthly rate. The previous care facilities where our dad lived had 'cafeteria-plan' care. So, depending on the needs he had, the cost for care would go up for each additional need. We were relieved when we found Mustang Creek because, not only did they have the LOWEST memory care cost around, but no matter what care our dad needed, the cost would stay the same. The other amazing thing is the overall 'look' of the place. The other facilities were just depressing. Mustang Creek's cottage-style houses are bright, cheerful, and look more like a HOME! Right when you walk in, you see an open concept living, dining, kitchen area that is clearly the heart of the residence - which really makes it feel like a home, not a "facility". We really liked that about it. Lastly, we can not say enough about the staff & especially the executive director, Ginger! We had some challenges getting dad's care ironed out (as things were changing quickly for him), but they went above & beyond working with us to ensure our dad was getting the right medical & physical care that he needed. Unfortunately, our dad passed away very soon and didn't stay at MCE very long. But we have peace in the fact that Mustang Creek was the right place for him to be and would recommend this place to anyone who has a family member needing this type of care. 4 because there is always room for improvement. New Director Terry in Burleson is on the ball, got the drier fixed, got rid of dishonest sitter, banished bedbugs in one day. The house is homelike and folks have their meals and watch tv like family. The sitters and house supervisor are patient, sweet, and caring. I wish patients had a way to enjoy the outdoors on nice days. It is a beautiful property.

My 95 year mother-in-law resided in a memory care home at Mustang Creek Estates. Her care and love from their staff was awesome! My mother-in-law shared at each of our visits she had found a new home with friends she saw daily in their many scheduled activities and parties. The culture created by the staff and administrators center around each individual resident's needs for a happy life. We moved my mother to Mustang Creek Estates (MCE) regular care from Florida at the end of April-2018, sight unseen. She is 95, full, very sharp memory, just frail. I learned some time ago (from experience and from friends in same boat) that I need to visit her often, more than 1x a week so the staff know they cannot pass her by in the execution of their duties. I MUST encourage all families to recognize that it is their responsibility to ensure that the people, places they contract with are doing their jobs. If the family only comes once in a while, you will never know what happens from day to day. Most contracts state something like they MAY do weekly cleaning, they MAY get to weekly laundry, etc for seniors in the regular care buildings BUT the caveat is that there has to be enough staff to cover all the duties, for all shifts, especially when there are events that derail the normal shift responsibilities.Pros: Yes, you can see this facility is beautiful-its new, for now. Yes, the each meal is planned for and prepared. Yes-the staff are respectful, sweet, caring, and eventually learn their job and are amazing caregivers.Cons: heres where it gets painfully honest and is 6-mos of my experience1. Food choice and prep is not conducive to seniors with dentures (they are all ill-fitting after theyve had them a while), and most definitely if theyve had a stroke or other medical condition that affects chewing, swallowing. It is often bland, depending on whos cooking, and there are no options other than what is on the menu so you MUST supply ensure, snacks, drinks etc. regularly. Staff needs to have experience in cooking, but none of them know that cooking frozen meat leaves it tough and dry, hard to chew2. Any special request for the food to be moist (with gravy or sauce, and cut up very well is not well received along with no time allotted to serve everyone (with one staffer for the whole house). See photo of puréed chicken (all her meals looked like this for a while-dry and not edible), presented to mother when stoke left her ability to swallow very weak. Thankfully she can manage her chewing, swollowing better now3. I should have made this #1, as sweet as the staff are, there simply are not enough on the evening shift (only one, despite 6 months, two Directors, and two house managers promises that there would be a second staffer for evenings). Evening staff are tasked w, prepping, cooking, serving dinner for 13 residents, pulling and distributing medications (several minutes each) before AND after dinner, for (?) 8-13 residents, cleaning up kitchen, mopping floors, taking some residents out to smoke, addressing any personal toiletry issues, AND start, switch, deliver laundry. Some of these tasks have been switched back and forth to an earlier shift or the night shift, but with all of that, trash still isnt emptied, bathrooms are barely wiped down (it says light cleaning in paperwork...) and of course there would be no time to actually assist the weaker residents into bed. Apparently cleaning is supped to be done on an earlier shift...I guess they are actually tending to the residents4. They run out of supplies too often -toilet paper, jelly (yes-critical), batteries for residents call buttons AND the pagers!!5. Nighttime meds & 2-hr checks - often missed. After mothers reported that she was not getting her nebulizer treatments but the staff (and computer) said she was, I installed a Wyze camera and found that mother was right. Many, many treatments missed or are very late, which results in a snowball effect for her health, her caregivers, and more dr visits. thanksgiving morning, the caregiver missed all three nighttime treatments!! So here we go spiraling again after three wonderful healthy weeks6. No bug proofing, caulking, cleaning around A, C - spiders.**all issues were brought up w, mgmt (now gone). every facility has these problems, I dont care how many stars they get. The good wkrs dont get paid enough to stay and owners are all about the bottom line.

Some times life will throw us a curve that we didnt see coming, this is about how a facility helped with that. Three years ago my wife fell and suffer an BTI, this changed our lives forever. I took care of her 24, 7 up until a Dr Lee made me see the light, I needed help, just one person cant deal with this long term. My research lead me to Mustang Creek. From the moment I entered the door the staff made me feel right at home. The questions were asked and the decision was made the same day, and arrangements were made to secure a room in the assisted living plus home.. The home is warm and home like setting. The staff is caring and well informed. My wife is and epileptic and needs to be monitored closely all the time. Melissa, the site director has first hand experience with this condition and has trained her staff on how to deal with the condition. It a problem arises they call me on how to work with it. I cant say enough about this director and her staff, they truly provide me with peace of mind that Lynda is getting the best care possible . Thank you Melissa and staff.
