Reviews The Village at White River Junction
June 2024
We had a great experience admitting my mother in memory care. It was a difficult process but they made it easy and took care of everything. Carol and Tammy were especially helpful and really helped the village stand out.
June 2024
Outstanding in many ways. Wonderful architecture, attentive and cheerful staff, fun location and activities, very good food, and more. As can be expected when moving a family member from another state, we hit a few bumps here and there, but thanks to the excellent staff and facilities, the transition was a big success.
May 2024
I have lived in the White River Junction area my entire life. Several of my friends and family have worked and live at The Village at White River Junction. What a great addition to our community.
May 2024
My family took a tour of The Village at White River Jct yesterday and it's a beautiful place, lots of windows with great views, the public spaces are very nice and the residents can come and go as they please. The rooms have many nice amenities. The staff was very welcoming, especially Carol, the community relations counselor. She was very helpful in letting us know the steps we need to take to hopefully get my mother moved in. Great experience!
May 2024
This is one of the cleanest, well taken care of facilities I have ever been to. The administration and the move in coordinator Carol is amazing. If I could give more than 5 stars for her professionalism, excellent education and personality I would.
April 2024
I toured this beautiful community with Carol Kolenski looking for a place for my Mom. Carol was very warm and friendly and answered all our questions. Carol even called my Mom, who lives in Florida, to talk with her about moving to The Village. I was very impressed with all the amenities offered and the cozy apartments that make you feel like being home.
February 2024
I can't comment on what it's like yet to live in this facility, but I've worked for years with Carol Kolenski, the Community Relations Counselor, who has been nothing short of outstanding when it comes to answering our questions, giving us multiple tours, and waiting patiently as our family mulled things over -- in our case, for several years. We never felt like we were being "sold" anything or pushed to make a decision-- she was helping guide our family, moving at the comfort of our own pace, to making the best decision for us. I'm happy to say that my mom now plans to move in to the Village in the coming months and we are delighted to get to continue to work with Carol and the kind staff there.
February 2024
Being a new resident at The Village I'm adapting to my new surroundings. The food is wonderful, it is delicious. The service is great. The staff is very nice.
February 2024
We moved my mother to The Village last Summer. The facility and rooms are beautiful, spacious, and clean. The staff, from nurses to front desk personnel to everyone in between, (most notably Carol Kolenski) have always been friendly and helpful. Most importantly, we have felt very supported as we transitioned my mother first, to assisted living, and more recently, to memory care.
February 2024
Such a welcoming staff at The Village! We had anticipated that our loved one with dementia might have a challenging move to a new place, but the friendly and attentive care team there--starting with Carol Kolenski, the Community Relations Coordinator-- made the move a very positive experience for him and for our family. Carol focused in on his love of opera, and within a few minutes of his arrival in the building, he was comfortable enough to start singing one of his favorite arias! After spending some time in his new apartment, he was in the living room area with other residents and staff, enjoying a snack and a visit with the therapy dogs. Thanks to Carol and the rest of The Village team for their positive energy and support through this important transition.
January 2024
We just moved my dad into The Village this past week and the process was so easy. Carol was instrumental in making this move in happen. She's so nice, so communicative, and made this really difficult and stressful time, much easier. Everyone we have met so far at The Village is so friendly, so welcoming, and have been so kind to my dad and making him feel welcome there, and most importantly, comfortable. We are so grateful to Carol and the entire team at The Village for taking such great care of my dad, and supporting us!
December 2023
Last week my son and I had a chance to visit the Villages. We decided to check out the facilities before I needed to make a decision to move. I had heard good things about the Villages, and the tour that Carol gave us showed that the good things I had heard were true. It seems that every detail is considered. Large light filled rooms, spaces for art work, hair salon, everything seems to be there. We came away with the knowledge that this is a great place to go, when living independently is not an option.
December 2023
My husbands aunt and uncle moved Into the Villages last March and we couldn't more pleased with the love and care they have received. From Jolynn the new director to Louis at the front desk, Tammy and Carol have been a wealth of knowledge and support, The food has been delicious and the dining room staff has been very a flexible. A special shout out to Sheri on 4th floor. She has become part of our family. She always is there to help with her gorgeous smile and wonderful sense of humor.
December 2023
We recently moved my father-in-law into The Village. Tammy and Carol worked closely with us every step of the way making an overwhelming situation feel manageable. My father-in-law is settling in very well and we are simply beyond thrilled with this move.
November 2023
My daughter India and I visited The Village yesterday. We were greeted with a welcoming sign with our names there. A pleasure and a surprise. Carol Kolenski then took us on an extensive tour of the various floors. We were amazed not only by the beauty of the building but also by the range of services offered. We had lunch in the main floor dining room. Some residents stopped by for a chat. So many interesting people! Carol made sure that we were introduced and told us a little about them. It is clear that she is very much liked and cares deeply about her work. I hope that it can be my home some day.
November 2023
We recently took a group of students to visit The Village. They were very welcoming and gave us a detailed tour. It is a beautiful building with unique spaces and activities to offer to their community members! Students were inspired by their attention to patient care and enjoyed the cupcake treats. Thanks to Carol for organizing the tour and thanks to the staff for taking their time to connect with our students. We hope to visit again!
October 2023
Our 95 year-old aunt Annette moved to the VWRJ in early 2021 from a socially and culturally active lifetime in New York City. We chose the Village especially because it's situated in a lively town center comprised of cafes, restaurants, retail shops, salons, small art galleries, an art school and a professional theater company within two or three blocks' walking distance. From before her move, to her move-in, to the present, the administrative, programming, dining room, healthcare and maintenance staffs of the Village have been exceptionally attentive to Annette and consistently communicative with us in all aspects of her experience at the residence -- in particular: Executive Director Nikki F; Community Relations Counselor Carol K; Health Services Director Suzette B; Front Desk Concierge (and now Memory Care attendant) Branten M; Business Manager Samantha T; and Plant Operations Director Geoff T.
September 2023
My father moved to The Village at White River Junction after living at home independently in Southern New Hampshire to be closer to me and my family. He was in his late 70s and wanted to be closer to us since my family was so busy with work and school. He had been independent for a long time, but he still needed some assistance now and then. It was wonderful to have him nearby so that we could visit him at his home, have him drive over to our house, and, of course, his favorite: to go out for dinner! His apartment was state-of-the-art, with all the amenities to continue his independence. In addition, the tremendous individualized care provided by a dynamic and professional staff made him feel most at home. Dad made some great friends who became a group of residents who always looked out for other residents. If you, or you and your family, are looking for an independent living or assisted living place, The Village is a great place to be.
September 2023
I am very happy with my experience at the Village. I'm quite sure my father was not the easiest new resident! He arrived angry and agitated, coming in from a lengthy stay in the hospital. His cognitive skills were already seriously affected by a stroke, but there were additional setbacks due to his hospital stay. The staff stayed in close contact with us, all the while gently encouraging him to relax, begin to use the walker again, participate in meals etc. At this point, they know about his favorite foods, TV shows, music and more. They never gave up on him! It is so nice to see him smile again. Over the course of his time there, I have worked with several nurses - Suzette Barbour, Kathleen Marsh and Diana (sorry, I don't know her last name!) among others - as well as Executive Director Nikki Fortier and especially Carol Kolenski, who does community relations and has gone above and beyond for us. I won't spend any time talking about the facility - all you have to do is visit their web site to see what a phenomenal place it is, and what wonderful services they offer. I hope I can find a setting like this when it's my turn...
August 2023
My family had a crisis and had to unexpectedly find a placement for a family member. The Village staff was very responsive and helpful. As a result, we were able to move forward quickly on the entire process. Carol (Community Relations Counselor) was wonderful, incredibly supportive of me and the situation. Suzette (Director of Health Services) worked with me through some difficult circumstances. They both have been available to answer questions and are great resources. I still reach out for help and advice. The memory care staff is great. The front desk staff are friendly and helpful. My family member that moved in is always saying how wonderful the people are there and that the food is very good. The Village facilities are nice and new, and they offer lots of enrichment activities. I feel lucky we were able to get into the Village and highly recommend it.
August 2023
I've recently been introduced to the The Village at White River Jct after one of my clients, whom I had been working with for a year, needed to go into memory care. The place is well maintained, the staff friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere unlike most assisted living facilities I have seen. This place is worth taking the time to go see if you have a loved one that is in need of such a place. Neil Home Health Care Assistant
July 2023
My family recently faced an emotional but necessary decision to move my mom from her home to a Memory Care facility. I had researched multiple in VT. I discovered The Village in WRJ on line and immediately was impressed by their responsiveness, level of care, and professionalism. They were compassionate and understanding of our difficult journey. They were always quick to answer my questions at all hours of the day, night and weekends. Once we made decision to move forward, Carol & Tammy were amazing in their communication on the process, cost, paperwork and preparing us and our mom for the transition. The facility itself was beautiful, modern, safe and very clean. The private rooms are spacious and homey. We met the Staff Directors and they scheduled a live zoom call for my siblings to explain roles and resources available. Everyone was wonderful. Move in day was smooth. Only negative was one elevator was not working. 🙂 Although it was heart breaking for mom to leave her house and home town of 85 years, the staff were well prepared to deal with the emotions. I want to thank Diana, the floor nurse on move in day, who was so caring and has been amazing in providing me updates and sending me pictures on my mom whenever I call to check in. We are pleased and comforted that mom seems to love her new home at the Village and will be well cared for.
July 2023
My husband just moved into The Village. I am very pleased with the entire move in process. Everyone at The Village is helpful and kind. The facility is great! At a difficult time in ones life it is nice to feel right at home.
June 2023
Our experience with The Village at WRJ has been overwhelmingly positive—hence, the 5-star rating and my first-ever online review. My 84-year-old father recently moved from a life care facility in Connecticut to be closer to family...a huge transition for him that also involved lots of details for us to manage. Tammy and Carol were consistently responsive and available to answer our questions at any time of day and on the weekends. Not a single email or text went unanswered, and they both went above and beyond to assist us and welcome our dad. Staff have been unfailing helpful and flexible from the moment my father arrived. Louis in Concierge services and Cindy from the dining staff have been particularly kind and attentive, along with all of the nursing and assisted-living support staff. The daily selection of activities for residents is varied and appealing, as is the dining menu. (I've heard excellent reviews of the food so far!) Facilities are as beautiful and state-of-the art as they appear online, and we've been enjoying the unique setting and architecture of the entire building. We are excited for my dad to take part in all that The Village has to offer and grateful that he has the support he will need to thrive there. We know from experience that not all assisted-living settings are this flexible and responsive, so we are particularly glad to have had such a positive experience to this point.
June 2023
My wife Carol and I moved to the upper valley in mid-April from Daufuskie Island, SC to be closer to our family and to provide a first class caring community for Carol. While the move could have been very difficult for a variety of reasons we had an exceptional experience working with Carol Kolenski, Community Relations Counselor. So far we have no regrets with anything here at The Village and appreciate all of the services we receive from such a cheerful staff.
June 2023
I am SO glad I moved my mom to the Village at White River Junction! The facilities are stunning, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and most important, the staff are super professional, responsive, kind and caring. I am so relieved that my mom is in such good hands. We have experienced a few different senior living/assisted living/memory care facilities over the past several years, and no other facility she was in came close to the care she is now receiving at the Village. I am happy to drive an hour just to know that she is in such good hands. We cannot recommend them strongly enough. I am only sorry we didn't make the move sooner. It is truly impossible to put a price on the piece of mind that comes with knowing your aging parent is getting the best possible care, and I am grateful that that is our experience at the Village.
May 2023
After many months at The Village dealing with a serious illness, I will soon be returning home. I owe a great debt of thanks to the people whose attention and kindness made me feel welcomed and cared for in assisted living here, especially Carol and Tammy in the office, Leslie, the head nurse, and med. tech. Shari. I will not forget you.
May 2023
As a healthcare navigator, I often step into fraught family situations. Such was the case when I reached out to Carol. She was instrumental in helping me successfully come to a solution for all members of the family for whom I was working. Carol was unfailingly professional, compassionate and knowledgeable. My client needed to find a place to live in less than two weeks. Carol made it happen. When my client was wheeled into her new apartment, with a view of the woods, I could see her whole body relax. When Carol told her that she could have her own cat in the apartment, she said, "You have a customer." Having worked with The Village before, I look forward to my client settling in and discovering that she will feel like more than a customer at The Village.
April 2023
I can't express how very happy we have been with our choice of the Village at WRJ for our parents. From the very first moment, we have been so impressed. It was very difficult to convince my mother that this was where she needed to be. She just wasn't "ready". Tammy let me know that everyone would work with us to make this transition as easy as possible. Tammy, Carol, and Suzette made the move in day an easy one. They worked as a seamless team. Louis is incredibly supportive and encouraging. He never fails to greet us by name and let us know how things are going. During the round table meeting with the staff, Nicky immediately reassured us that what we were feeling and fearing was completely normal and to be expected. They have been with us every step of the way. I am blown away by how everyone knows my parents by name and they are all truly eager to help and support them. Carol has been in constant contact via text and phone calls to let me know how things are going and checking in on me. I would love to name each and every person I have met, because everyone has truly been so very caring. It is very apparent that everyone at the Village loves what they are doing and they love the people they care for. As I told Carol, I feel as if we have gained a new family. Thank you!
April 2023
Excellent impression while seeking assistive living option for my elderly parent. Elegantly appointed, attractive, adult amenities befitting the rich lives of the residents, warm and welcoming staff so helpful during what is a very stressful life transition. Will be bringing my parent here and am confident they will flourish in a setting that invites curiosity and engagement with other residents and the wider community. Price tag is steep, but the setting is also quite unique and special.
April 2023
Given the difficulty of any transition, like this, the staff was incredibly understanding and accommodating!
April 2023
My Father has been a resident of The Village for 2 1/2 years. Over that time he has gone through a number of health issues and a lot of personal changes in his life. During this time, the staff at the Village have been nothing but FANTASTIC!! From Nikki, to Suzette and Carol and Leslie they have been supportive, accommodating and loving. My dad feels well cared for and valued. Our entire family is so so appreciative for all the good care that our dad receives from the entire staff at the Village. We know he is safe and in good hands.
March 2023
When our family experienced an urgent need to make the decision about assisted living, the caring administration at The Village at White River Junction went above and beyond to help us move to the safe, supportive and comprehensive living environment we needed. The staff has been consistently kind, helpful, thoughtful, exceptionally competent and patient. The facilities are extraordinary. We feel very fortunate to have found The Village, and very grateful to all the staff and administration.
March 2023
My mother resided in the memory care unit at The Village at White River Junction for the last three years of her life. She enjoyed a large private room, good food, and most importantly, attentive and loving care from the staff. Her mobility issues in her final year were especially challenging, as The Village is not equipped for residents who are completely non-ambulatory, but the staff were willing to work with the family to overcome them with the help of a special wheelchair. We were very happy that our mother was able to spend her last days there. To re-iterate, the memory care staff, especially, were lovely to interact with, and unquestionably made our mother's life significantly richer and more easeful, through their attention.
March 2023
My mom has just moved in to The Village. We have been deeply impressed with the team here, especially their flexibility, respectfulness, and responsiveness in what is inevitably a very complex and emotional transition for the whole family. No other community we visited or interacted with was so consistently engaged with us during the exploration, evaluation, and decision process. In the selection process we were especially impressed with The Village's thoughtful and flexible approach to memory care — allowing for a continuum of care rather than an all-or-nothing locked unit. The facility itself is beautifully designed and maintained in great condition. At this stage I would highly recommend this community to any family who need this level of assisted living.
March 2023
Both of my parents have now lived at the Village. We have experience with the Memory Care floor and and as residents of Assisted Living. The staff is always helpful and very caring. It is a wonderful community and a beautiful building with lovely common spaces throughout. There are also lots of activities for the residents. It feels happy every time we walk through the door.
February 2023
The Village is an amazing place!! The staff there are caring and really love their residents there. They treat them with dignity and thoughtfulness. The Village is very interactive and they always have fun events going on that everyone can be a part of. I can't say enough of how very well my Father is being taken care of at The Village. I see it with my own eyes. My sister and I visit every day and my father is thriving there. I would absolutely recommend The Village to anyone looking for an assisted living facility or like we needed, memory care. We are so happy to have found The Village. Special thanks to Tammy, Carol, and Suzette for helping us get our Dad into this wonderful place and get him care he needs and deserves!
December 2022
Last year our parents considered moving to The Village at White River Junction. Tammy Latvis and the team were super kind and supportive to our family as our parents evaluated the transition from independent living to The Village based on their needs and health. After a lengthy process, our parents decided to stay in their home. Through it all, Tammy and The Village staff were positive, informative and responsive. Our family deeply appreciated Tammy and The Village for their gracious approach to our parents as potential residents.
December 2022
We are pleased to be residents in a two bedroom apartment on the fourth floor. The fourth floor is very quiet and boast the beautiful Crockwell Art Gallery. Both the residents and staff have been generous and friendly, and go out of their way to lend assistance whenever necessary. The dining room is well appointed, and the staff is very professional. The food is plentiful and tasty. We feel very lucky and we're very happy to be a part of The Village Community. We highly recommend this facility to any future applicants.
December 2022
The Village is wonderful! The people are warm and welcoming, the staff are smart and skillful, and the facilities are top-notch. My mom-in-law is living at The Village, and thriving. My wife and I are so happy and grateful that Carol and everyone are so involved and so caring.
November 2022
Mom's short term stay at The Village was exceptional. From the first contact until she left to live with her youngest son, the staff was very attentive to her needs, courteous, and generous with their care. The facility was very well designed with several community activity rooms including the spacious Windsor Dining Room. Days mother couldn't go to the dining area, staff would bring food to her rooms. The private rooms are well laid out with safety and comfort in mind. Staff would contact me anytime mother's needs required it. Staff members Shelby, Karri Ann, Shari and Michelle always had mom's wellbeing first and foremost. Carol Kolenski (my Village contact) was exceptional in her knowledge, communication and concern for my mother. I fully recommend The Village for your loved one.
November 2022
I found the Village through a straightforward Google search. I had already toured a half dozen assisted living facilities in the Upper Valley. I initially approached the Village, looking for a place for myself and my Parkinson Disease, with a sense of trepidation. Those concerns immediately dissipated. The quality of the architecture and interior design; the community spaces and activities; the sense of welcome; the full, high quality, energetic, pleasant staff; the community spirit; the professionalism - it was all there. Carol Kolenski is among those who deserve special mention. She helps keep the trains running on time and constantly reinforces the culture - and does so with an irrepressible good nature. I give the Village my highest, enthusiastic recommendation. Anonymous
October 2022
My family and I were looking for a great short term rehabilitation facility for our Mom after her hip replacement revision surgery and we were referred to The Village at White River Junction. Unfortunately, The Village does not do short term rehabilitation but Carol Kolenski from The Village still did everything in her power to help us find the best possible short term rehab facility for our Mom. If Carol and The Village are this caring and helpful for a person that might not become a resident, I can only imagine how wonderful Carol and The Village are with those that are residents. We are so grateful to Carol for her amazing heart and willingness to help us in our search [and continued follow-up].
October 2022
The Village has provided a haven for me since I could no longer live independently. The staff have been exemplary in supporting my move and residency in this well-designed facility. I have a lovely apartment, a staff of support people attentive to my needs, and chef- designed menus served in an attractive dining noon . The prevailing mood here is that of a positive and cheerful community. I am so pleased to be here.
October 2022
I have spent three months at the Village, a pretty and comfortable assisted living, while waiting for a more intensive placement for my partner. I am very glad to have had this interim residence. I can't speak highly enough of the staff--nursing, aides, "quality of life service" people, kitchen and wait-staff. They were not only effective and kind, but warmly playful. I had good support from the administration, especially from Carol Kolenski, who was always watching out for us.
August 2022
Our father has been living at The Village for 9 months and loves it. The staff is amazing- they knew him by name (and his visiting family members too) immediately. They are incredibly friendly and supportive. The food is great. He has made lots of interesting new friends and enjoys the enrichment activities (movies, discussion groups, lectures, happy hour). He was initially hesitant to enter assisted living, but couldn't be happier with his move.
August 2022
I recently brought my Mother for an introduction/tour of the The Village facility. She really liked what it had to offer and could see herself there. She was impressed with the spa and hair salon for sure. Everyone was very helpful and kind. The baby lamb visiting was the highlight for me (Hi licorice!) 😀 I know she would be very comfortable there and that her children would know she was safe and taken care of. It is quite expensive which might be a deal breaker for us. We are hoping that it works out when she is ready in the not so distant future.
August 2022
I moved my mom into the Village about a month ago. Prior to the move, she was an anxious wreck and completely resistant to the change. Carol, the move-in coordinator, did an amazing job helping her transition to the new setting. She introduced her to several residents, helped set her up with a new PCP, and provided me with updates on how my mother was doing. Only one month later, my mom is thriving in her new home.
July 2022
I wish to express how happy and comforted I am that my mother-in-law was able to spend the last several years of her life in the beautiful and highly professional Village at White River. She was so happy and "at-home" in her very safe and active environment, giving great comfort to the entire family, especially during Covid. She received exceptional care from the highly qualified and compassionate staff. The family was always welcomed with open arms and was always kept up to date on her daily activities and health concerns. She and the family were treated with the highest level of compassion and respect during her final days, with the famIly being allowed to be by her side until the end of her very full and rewarding life.

My husband died at the Village last Friday, after nearly a year there. He was lovingly cared for by many wonderful caregivers many of whose names are lost to my memory now, but I would like to thank Michelle,Branton,Maddie and many others who loved him and always welcomed me with love when I visited. I wish I had all the names, but no matter what, I appreciated everyone who was part of his care during this time..and I thank Carol Kolenski for her her help with all of the details of making his time there and my own situation eased. I could only wish that anyone who chooses this wonderful facility will have the same experience that Bruce and I had. My husband with dementia moved to Memory Care at the Village two weeks ago. He has been welcomed, as have I, by a warm and caring staff who are friendly and helpful and eager to make the transition from our home to The Village as easy as possible. His living space is lovely, the meals are well prepared and delicious, and he is enjoying getting to know other residents and staff members. As a gregarious, outgoing person who suffered from lack of social contact during the COVID isolation, he is now enjoying a more normal life with interactions with staff and fellow residents. As his full time caregiver for the past 18 months, I am now getting more sleep at night and am comforted knowing he is safe and very well cared for. And,by the way, the Village is an absolutely beautiful nearly new facility with more amenities than you could imagine!

My mom lived in the memory care unit for almost two years and was cared for in the most loving way. The staff knew and anticipated her every need. We moved her from a facility in Westchester NY to be able to have her in an "aging in place" facility. She passed peacefully and comfortably with family and staff by her side last month. We can't say enough about the wonderful care that she received.

After speaking with Tammy on the phone, I was excited to see The Village in WRJ. It (and Tammy) did not disappoint! The place is gorgeous with lots of open spaces and natural light. Tammy was incredibly knowledgeable, kind and helpful during the tour! We were impressed by how much independence the residents can have, and yet as much help as they might need. Add the town of WRJ, with it's amazing theatre, great restaurants and shopping, I can't imagine a better place for my mom to live.

My Mom has dementia and we were trying to have her stay at home by hiring multiple caregivers, setting up cameras and alarms to keep her from wandering, but it was a constant source of stress and worry for my Family. We found the Village at WRJ and it really stood out from the rest because of the positive and upbeat attitude of the staff as well as the beautiful facility. Even though it was my ideal place for my Mom, I was still worried about the transition from her home into the Memory Care unit. Carol Kolenski was there by my side through the entire process. She went way above and beyond her job description and even came in on her days off to help me. She was, and still is, a huge support to me and made sure my Mom felt welcomed and included from the moment we arrived. My family and I are finally able to relax knowing that my Mom is getting her medical and health needs met as well as having the opportunity to enjoy her life. My Mom has been able to participate in exercise classes, watch movies in the movie theater, go on scenic drives through Vermont and New Hampshire, go to lunch at local restaurants, see live music on the stage in-house, get her hair done in the salon on the third floor, attend talks on cultures around the world, attend art classes and more and she has only been living there for a month so far! I can not thank the staff enough for all they have done for my Mom and my family!

I looked at every available place within an hour from my home and what convinced me that the Village was the right Memory Care for my Mom most was the staff. I felt like right from the beginning of the process Carol went way above and beyond to help find me the info I needed and to work with me until I felt comfortable with my decision. She was so patient and caring and made me feel like my Mom would be well taken care of. I also was extremely impressed with the staff on the Memory Care floor. They were caring and playful and made the space feel cheerful and welcoming. They were patient with residents and seemed to treat them and care for them like family. And lastly, I really liked the natural light in the building. Most other memory care facilities are located in the basement and so dark and depressing. The natural light helps to boost the mood and to allow a lot of nature and people watching.

My parents moved to the Village from another facility. The transition went well, the staff are welcoming and kind, the food is good, and there are many activities for them to choose from. Highly recommend!

The Village is a terrific place! It is clean, the rooms are a nice size, the staff is friendly and caring. My mother is safe, no longer wandering, her meds are properly managed and she is eating well with 24/7 support. She is happy there, comfortable with the routine and loves mingling with the other residents and staff as well as participating in some of the activities!

My father has been at the Village for 9 months now and it has been truly wonderful. I am continuously impressed with the enrichment/social activities they offer- both the number and the variety-- and the staff who go above and beyond to ensure the residents have a safe, happy, healthy and supported lifestyle. From our very first tour/visit, we felt so good about the place but my sister & I wondered "are they just good sales people or do they actually deliver on what they promise?." Well, I am happy to say, they FULLY deliver on all fronts. It is great to see my dad so engaged in activities, eating well and enjoying life. Special shout out to Carol Kolenski who seems to wear about 50 different hats, but does them all with 110% effort. Her caring nature and attention to detail made my dad's transition so easy, and we are grateful for all she does.

We moved both of my parents to The Village from another facility and are so happy we did. The Village is a family and we have peace of mind knowing they are so well taken care of by people who truly care about them. All of the staff are great but I have to mention Carol Kolenski, Move In Coordinator. From Carol is incredible - professional, responsive and caring. She played a big part in our decision to move our parents after we met her and took a tour. More importantly, my parents both love her. Dad recently mentioned that she adds so much happiness to his day.

My wife and I have lived at the Village at White River Junction for over a year and a half now I have been deeply impressed by the dedication and enthusiasm of all the staff, from office to maintenance, nursing, housekeeping, and culinary, for the welfare and comfort of residents. Not withstanding the stresses and strains imposed by the sudden and unexpected spread of COVID-19 in early 2020, and the need for new restrictions and procedures, we were all well looked after and kept both safe as well as comfortable throughout. Proximity to emergency and health service as well as well as the facilities of the town having a great advantage throughout. The indoors exercise room, library, music room, and gallery have been popular for all who can make use of them. With changes in the weather through spring and summer and the opportunities for outdoor activities, we've been able to avail of well planned outings and picnics, open air leisure time in the compact garden, and penthouse terrace. And finally, facilities for receiving guests and family for visits and meals have been a very welcome revival in recent weeks. Jivat Thadani

My dad joined the community at The Village at a time that Covid restrictions were in full force. The experience was difficult for all of us, as this meant that Dad had to quarantine and we could not see him, or even see the facility. During this time, the staff went out of their way to try to make us all comfortable, even rendering assistance that went outside their job descriptions. I hesitate to mention names as so many have been wonderful, but Carol Kolenski in particular was instrumental in calming us all down and befriending Dad during that initial difficult period. Subsequently, as cases declined we were able to visit Dad and take him out, allowing us to see in person what a lovely place he had landed in. The building is beautiful, the staff is great and Dad is comfortable and cared for. This has made it much easier for us to cope with Vermonts new lockdowns. We know that Dad is safe.

My parents arent staying at The Village, yet, but we have visited twice, had lunch there and the Grand Tour. Everyone there is incredibly friendly and very very helpful, answering questions and being reassuring. The place is absolutely lovely ... not at all like most stuffy assisted living places we have looked at. It is bright, cheerful and modern, and they have really thought of everything a resident might require to live a fulfilling life in residence. The facilities are amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its location right in the center of White River Junction is also a major bonus. I cant wait until I am at the time of life to move in there myself!

The Village at White River Junction has thought of every detail to make you or your loved ones comfortable and happy. The rooms and common areas are absolutely beautiful. The amenities (art studio, music, beauty salon, exercise area, library, etc) are wonderful. And, the location is ideal for dining out, attending a play, and just being a part of the community. Highly recommend!

I hope that Im able to adequately express the gratitude and appreciation our family has for The Village at White River Junction and the truly exceptional staff that made my fathers transition to assisted living a success. When doctors informed us that dad could no longer live safely on his own we toured assisted living communities in four states - some near the children, most near the town in New England where he had chosen to retire. The Village stood out in every way and staff were so professional, caring, respectful and attentive that we felt confident and remain totally satisfied with our choice. While his permanent unit was being customized, dad was able to stay in one of the beautiful short-term furnished apartments. This afforded him, and our family, the chance to test drive the community. The combination of the tasteful contemporary surroundings, daily structure, personal attention, delicious meals and social interactions with other residents (many of whom have connections to nearby Dartmouth College) had an immediate positive impact on his life and health and put our minds at ease. The amazing staff at The Village came through for us in a difficult and stressful time, ensured a smooth and welcoming transition for dad and has exceeded our expectations at every turn. Dad is now happily settled and thriving in this stimulating yet serene setting and calls The Village his new home. Editing to add that we were excited to discover that Amtrak has daily service between White River Junction and major stops along the Eastern corridor (Boston, Hartford, New York, Philly, Washington DC). The train station is just steps away from the quaint downtown area and an easy walk to both The Village and The Hotel Coolidge. For those winter months when wed think twice about driving to Vermont this offers a wonderful alternative for traveling north to visit dad.

My father moved to The Village in July 2019, and I have been overwhelmed at the level of support and compassion the staff has shown him and my entire family. They have worked especially hard at finding activities that bring my father joy and purpose. His apartment is large and spacious, the common areas are beautiful and comfortable. There is so much access to the outdoors, even for folks with mobility issues. I wish I could live there too!

My father has been a resident of The Village at WRJ since May 2019, when he relocated from the Mid Atlantic. The community met him with open arms and has been very attentive to making his transition as smooth as possible. Each day is filled with a variety of activities-- art programs, musical performances, cooking demos, or simply walking around the adorable village of White River Junction. The team planning activities is continually coming up with new and creative programming. The physical space is warm and welcoming, with each level carrying a unique and tasteful design and color palette. There is a community kitchen with gourmet equipment that is available for families to use for special celebrations or meals, an art studio with tremendous natural light, a library, a pub, a movie theater, and performance space. They have an on site spa and gym, too There is even an outdoor dog park on the fourth floor for residents who want to bring along their pet. They have thought of everything. The medical care team has been great with my Dad in managing and administering his medications. They provide as much assistance as he needs for day to day tasks, while allowing him to remain as independent as possible. Its a perfect balance. They even found a new primary care doctor for my Dad--and she make house calls! No more waiting in a doctors office for a simple routine visit. All his meals are included and served in the restaurant on site. The food is high quality and delicious. They even made him home made key lime pie (his favorite) on the day he arrived. While the monthly costs are not inexpensive, I feel it is money well spent. It is a comprehensive fee unlike some communities where laundry, cable, call pendants, etc. are all extra. There is no purchase of a unit. You are simply renting an apartment--no large upfront buy-in required. We feel very fortunate to have gotten in on the ground floor soon after opening. Based on our experience at another new community in the mid Atlantic, I predict it wont be long before The Village will have a waiting list.

Tammy is a gem! I reached out to her urgently looking for a memory care center in the midst of the Covid 19 pandemic. She is the right person in the right job. She took care of me as well as showcased the beautiful place she works! She showed me that when the time is right, this is the place I will choose for my mom! Its not because Tammy does her job, its how she does it! Her kindness and compassion will long be remembered, a lasting impression!

Tammy is beyond special. She has been working with me for a couple of months to figure out a way I can afford this lovely place. Were not there yet, but Tammy hasnt given up. Love everything about the place, especially the dog park. Love the colour scheme - thank dawg, not a bit of bland beige to be seen. This the first ALF that Ive even been remotely interested in. No more high rises and huge cities for me. Looks like there are plenty of young» people here. And, Teddy, my hound, would like it. Close to the Red Sox and the Metropolitan Opera House (begone COVID-19). What more can one ask for.

Beautiful place, very well thought out! Tammy was a great (virtual) tour guide and answered many questions. Top notch place!

I worked with Tammy Latvis while I was looking for a place for my mom. The experience was wonderful. She gave me a FaceTime tour of the facility which was the closest thing to being there. I even communicated with some of the residents. They all looked very happy. The staff seemed loving as well. A truly impressive experience!

The staff were terrific with my dad. HIGHLY recommend The Village!

The staff at The Village are warm and genuinely caring. My parents were welcomed, and their needs accommodated, with understanding, flexibility and generosity. The building is lovely, and its setting allows for a feeling of community and life. Pre-pandemic, there were very nice events and gatherings. Currently, there is good attention to communicating with family and making residents comfortable, even with necessary restrictions. The best part of The Village from my perspective is the warmth of the staff.

Very capable, friendly and caring staff, beautiful building in the center of an historic and increasingly vibrant town and excellent cuisine. Many of the residents are interesting and engaged and a wide range of activities ensure that they stay active and involved. The staff have handled the Covid crisis exceptionally well with careful guidelines lovingly enforced which have successful kept the Village safe and happy. Hopefully residents, family and staff will soon again be strolling through the dynamic town center with family and friends or using The Villages excellent transportation system to visit the regions many offerings.

Superb service and attention to all our needs. The entire staff is extremely supportive and provides the best possible care. The facility is top notch and such a wonderful experience.

My Father recently lived on the memory unit at The Village in WRJ, VT. A place where everyone knew his name, his family, what he enjoyed, what he like to eat, etc. Daddy arrived at the Village just a few weeks before the Covid-19 pandemic. This meant all visitation from family and friends would soon come to a halt. Although extremely difficult for my Dad to understand, there was comfort for our family knowing he was in the care of all the wonderful, caring, happy, compassionate, warm and well trained people taking care of him. Feeding him well, making sure he didnt miss a meal (which by the way were very good.) Keeping him busy with activities he enjoyed. Life for Daddy was different now and for us too but we cannot say enough about the level of love, care and respect he received while at The Village. The atmosphere was bright, colorful and inviting offering a ton of amenities including a patio with small raised garden boxes for those who loved to garden and enjoyed getting their hands dirty, small kitchen areas those who wanted to cook with their loved ones. They even have an indoor movie theater with a popcorn machine!! We the Blake family are so happy to have found this place and these wonderful people for our Dad. If he couldnt be at home, we are happy to call The Village his home away from home.

My Mom and Dad are very comfortable in their new homes! Every detail is in place. The memory care unit is amazing and stimulating. The apartments are very nice, I was very impressed with the many programs and extra activities for residents. My parents, and family were made top priority. We had help in every aspect of the move! A beautiful facility, with wonderful, kind, knowledgeable, administrators and staff! Im looking forward for my visit in October.
