My mother has been at Legacy for close to three years. I am very glad we chose this place for her. The facilities are really nice, and the people that work there seem to genuinely care about my Mom. They have a few parties throughout the year, and bring in special events such as soccer dogs, singers, etc. I know it is hard to keep good employees, and sometimes the facility is short-staffed, but I know that is an issue almost everywhere. I do appreciate that when I bring a concern to the staff, it is immediately addressed. The food at Legacy seemed to be better quality and taste when my Mom first moved in. She is not a huge fan of the food now. Many menu items seem like an odd choice, and not what you'd find in typical restaurants or homes. The monthly price has gone up considerably, since the new owners took over. That has been difficult to deal with, but I don't want to move my Mother anywhere else. We will keep her at Legacy as long as we can. The front desk and event staff are marvelous, and the in-house therapists are very knowledgeable and caring. Overall, I would recommend Legacy to anyone needing assisted living care.

I visit multiple assisted living facilities in a professional capacity and can easily say that this is the warmest, and most welcoming assisted living residence I have experienced. It all begins with an Executive Director who is accessible and welcoming, and concierge staff that really want to assist you. In my two days visiting this amazing place I observed kindness and caring in all directions. Attentive direct care staff treating residents with genuine affection, wonderful dining staff, friendly housekeeping, PT and nursing staff. If my parent required AL care, I would choose The Legacy at Highwoods Preserve.

Located in a beautiful nature preserve this community is quiet and peaceful outside. Plenty of walk area with birds and other wildlife. Inside you will find a fun community with caring residents and activities for every taste. I love the 2 floors with a smaller population so everyone know each other. It is a win win for residents and families.

I'm an entertainer that performs monthly at the facility. I've been performing in a lot of senior care homes for the last 25 years. When seniors are happy, they are more talkative Let's just say the residents here talk my head off. I don't mind one bit. Many facilities in which I perform, the residents have a look as if they're in another dimension. At Legacy, every resident I come into contact with has a look of engagement. That is missing at many homes. The staff are incredible as they have a sincere interest in the residents needs. When my time comes to decide where I'm going to live out my golden years, Legacy at Highwoods Preserve is on my speed dial. Why don't you make it available to you on speed dial as well?

The Legacy at Highwoods Preserve is a nice assisted living facility. The commons areas are well-appointed, and you always see residents in those areas. They can sit out front under a canopy. I wish they had a garden area. The outdoor has many palm trees and some other pretty landscaping.The care is good for the most part. They are short-handed at times, and I have an issue with my mother's haircare and grooming. She can't do her own hair, and only gets showered twice a week. Her hair is always an issue, and not sure about oral care. The food is okay, but my sister brings her cooked food every week and takes her out at least once a week to eat. Mom misses being able to cook for herself.This past week or so, Mom had ants in her room, and they were crawling on her from her chair. I was aghast when I heard that. They came in and sprayed, and I haven't heard her complain any more about them.Legacy decorates nicely for holidays and special days. They do a very nice Christmas dinner for guests and family.There is a monthly schedule of activities for those that wish to participate. The activities director takes groups out to eat.mThey have in-house movies.

As a former Assisted Living Facility administrator my standards and expectations for any community are really high. While searching for a community for my loved one, I toured with Joe and Mitch at the Legacy. On my tours I interacted with numerous staff members, residents, and families of the residents. It was apparent early on that the staff loved serving the residents and the residents felt that love. It was evident from top down that the culture of the building was one of compassion and caring. My loved one passed away prior to being able to take ownership of the apartment, but based on my first hand experience with the team I would highly recommend this community.

I recently moved my mother into the memory care portion of this facility. From the tour with Cindy Lee and Daniella, to every aid and nurse that helps my mother daily, I cant be more satisfied with the care. The nurses and aids listen with compassion to my concerns, and always have her well being as their first priority. I have interacted with first and second shifts frequently, and feel blessed to have them in our lives....Thank you ladies, couldnt do it without you!!!Jamie

My husband moved into the Legacy in August of 2019. The first few months were wonderful. Around Christmas it started to decline. The Director left.I am not sure why. The food really went downhill.Some of the care was fine. Some things became very worrisome. My husband passed away last week. Only one staff member contacted me tell me she was sorry. I am sad to have these memories.

When we arrived on Moms first day at her new assisted living facility, the staff at Legacy at Highwoods Preserve greeted our mother with warmth and enthusiasm. Amber Lee, director of the medical team, grasped Moms health issues immediately and Debbie, the Director of Fun (Activities), made sure Mom was included in her favorite activities quickly. Who knew that Mom was such an Elvis fan! Mary Jane and Skylar who cover the receptionist desk have kept a caring watch on Mom as well and always converse with her as Mom walks by their desk on her way to the dining room. All staff members appear to be willing to step into each others roles when needed. For example, Virginia, Director of the Facility, set a table in a separate dining room to ensure that my mother and I were able to have a private dinner together.As I was leaving at the end of my last visit, I noticed that Cindy Lee, the Director of Marketing was walking and conversing with Mom on her way to the dining room. We noticed the staffs countless acts of kindness while we were there including repeatedly re-programming Moms TV remote. To date, all of the daughters phone calls and emails have been returned immediately. I feel Mom is safe and cared for at Legacy. We cannot ask for anything more for our mother. Thank you Legacy at Highwoods Preserve!

I visited this facility (more like a 5 star resort) for an event involving rescue animals. This place is so awesome! The rooms are huge and modern with high ceilings and gorgeous bathrooms. There seemed to be a high staff to resident ratio which is paramount! Everyone was smiling and so helpful. One of the staff was gracious enough to watch our 2 pups for a few minutes so we could watch a little show they had for the residents. I really feel they go above and beyond here. I would not hesitate to recommend this campus to anyone looking for extra care for their loved ones. I also feel it speaks volumes about the quality of this place when the residents seem genuinely happy and engaged! Bravo!

My mother has been a resident of the Legacy since it opened in September 2015. She had lived in another ALF on the East Coast of Florida for 2 years - which was nice enough but too far away as her health issues increased - and in an ALF in the Tampa Bay area before the Legacy opened, for only 2 months - which appeared ok but was poorly managed and not caring. The Legacy has provided my family peace of mind with the loving and conscientious care she has received since she moved in.

I put my Mom in memory care at this facility, and its more like family than a facility. The staff takes the time to send me pictures of my Mom having fun, even though I am there almost every day. Their warmth and caring is second to none, each and every one. I have been given everyones cell phone numbers, and try not to use them, but if I have had to they are eager to assist me in every way. I get calls from the doctor when she sees her, just to check in, or let me know if any changes. ts an amazing facility, filled to the top with loving, caring staff. Special thanks to Sarah who is in charge of all my Moms wonderful caretakers. Each and every one of you are a recharge to my heart, and I appreciate you more than you could know..I couldnt do it with out each and every one of you

The Legacy continues to impress me. My mom has been here for a year and a half. Janis and her staff are happy, caring and professional. The latest example was with Hurricane Irma. I never felt more comfortable choosing to have my mom stay there through the storm or bringing her home with me. They were fully staffed with their own families, back up generators and in a solid concrete building. Up dates were given every two hours and they had a specific emergency phone line. My mom was never anxious or concerned. Receiving that personal phone call after the storm to tell me everyone was safe and they were back to normal confirmed that I had found the right place for my mom. The Legacy is so very special. Mom is doing so great here. She is well cared for. She has made many friends and even enjoys playing Bingo now. She never wanted to play cards or Bingo.The staff is exceptional. They answer all of our questions. They try to make moms new home very special for here.A huge thank you to everyone who helped mom get me a birthday cake. It was nice that Mom was able to orchestrate this.
