I had my father at Mt Bachelor Assisted Living for over 2 years, and visited him 4-5 times a week, so I spent a lot of time there. The facility itself is newer, so impressive compared to others in Bend. There is a core staff of 6 caregivers who were wonderful, but getting to know them, they were unhappy with the management. They stayed because they cared about the residents, and I truly appreciated them. Other caregivers came and went with high turnover. I had frustrations with the management and lack of response to my concerns primarily from the resident care coordinator. I learned to pick my battles, like the 2 times I found some of his meds sitting in the cup, or the time there was a Covid sign posted on his door by mistake. He hadn't tested positive, it was placed on the wrong door. And lastly, when he had a stroke, and I wasn't told the extent of his condition until the second fall that night when the EMT's took him to the hospital. Each instance, the nurse or general manager would apologize, say they will review the procedures, but talking with other relatives of residents, we all had similar frustrations. My father was there when it was run by Frontier Management. The same company that runs Aspen Ridge. He is now in a foster care home run by a RN and I couldn't be happier with the level of care and love he receives. Be sure to read all the reviews. Many are based on the survey given by the referral companies like the one I used, after a tour, so their high score is not relevant.

Our family made a collective decision to convalesce our father at Mt. Bachelor Memory Care. From the administrators to the caretakers and each person in-between our family and our father was treated with dignity and respect. His care team went above and beyond their duties whether it be morning, noon or night to support his health and safety. Communication is very important to us and so we were pleased that the communication with the staff was reciprocal. It made a difficult transition less stressful. The facility is airy, open, bright and clean. If you are in need of quality care for your loved one, we highly recommend Mt. Bachelor Memory Care.

We moved our mom to Mt Bachelor Assisted Living several months ago. We looked at 5 other facilities in Bend. We chose Mt Bachelor for many reasons and are so happy we did! Most apparent 1st off, it's a lovely, inviting, tastefully decorated space. There are so many comfy areas to gather. The staff is gracious, kind, caring and easy to work with. I've found many staff members, from admin, to housekeepers, have been in our shoes and willing to share experience and hope. Our mom has had to transition to memory care and we could not be more appreciative of the support our family received!! We found every team member at Mt Bachelor has boots on the ground!! We have yet to have a need that hasn't been met. It is difficult when a beloved family member needs more care than we are able to provide. We are so thankful to have selected MBAL /MC as our extended family!!! Highly recommend!

My mom lives at Mt. Bachelor Assisted Living. She is very happy. She loves food the staff, and is excited for all the activities they do. She says the staff was so nice and always checks in on her and reminds her of any new activities coming up! They have bingo and that's her favorite game. They have a beautiful courtyard to take her walks because she loves her walks. I am so happy to see her so happy living at Mt. Bachelor Assisted Living

It's never an easy transition for families to reach this part of life. You can be met with resistance and trepidation from the people who have cared for you your whole life. The staff at Mt Bachelor have been outstanding in their compassion and knowledge as well as resources to help our family navigate through this transition. They have treated my parents with respect and kindness. Their positivity speaks volumes as to why they are in this field. My parents are thriving there. The daily stress of life as eased away to allow for time to make new friends, laugh more and enjoy life. Thank you for all you do! You are greatly appreciated.

We have been thinking of moving to Bend for some time now. One of the things that is keeping us from taking the plunge is finding a place for my grandma. Shannon graciously gave us a tour. We absolutely love the outside space and garden area. It looks like the facility has a lot to offer. Thank you Shannon for making us feel so at home. Our family is very grateful for the stellar care our mother received for the past 4 yrs at the newer facility. Ulysses and the rest of the staff in memory care did a exceptional job in providing the best care possible. We know because previously she was at 2 other assisted living facilitys and we have to say the difference in quality is night and day!! Every time the family would pop in, Ulysses would have some organized activity going on to keep there minds as active as possible. All the care givers are exceptionally kind, hard working, and thoughtful. Even during Covid-19 they were so contentious to engage the family with Face Time phone calls. We are so indebted to the entire staff including Don Seaton the Executive Director.

I would like to share my appreciation for the care of my mother. My mom lived in the community of the memory care unit for a little over a year and a half. In that time she received the kind of care that makes a family feel like they made the right decision to place our Mom in a care facility. The facility is bright with colorful pictures lining the halls. The hallways are wide for ease of movement for the residents from their rooms, to the courtyards and from the living room area to the kitchen and dining room area. Her room was the perfect size for her, not to big and not to small the jack and jill bathroom worked out well with her neighbor. The best part of this program at Mt. Bachelor is their staff, they are genuine, caring and make their residents feel valued, needed and loved. I appreciated the way they would dress my Mom for the day, she always was clean and ready for the day. They would give her one on one time and even put polish on her nails like she was ready to go out on the town. There are so many things about this staff I appreciate, they have a tough job working with our aging population, yet their skill level gives them the tools they need to give dignity to our loved ones. During the last few days of my Moms life the staff were amazing; the RN, Shaina was so caring and thoughtful coming by my Moms room every couple of hours making sure we had everything we needed. Brenna the MC med tech was such an angel to us, not only during those last hours of my Moms life, but during my Moms time there; she is so caring, yet professional. Ulysses Vargas the manager of the MC unit always kept me informed of any updates on my Mom, he also is very caring with the residents in unit. My Mom loved the lollypops he would give her as she passed by his office. He was always available for any questions that I had. Ulysses also helped me with having my Mom be evaluated for Hospice. I would give this facility 5 stars and above. They will hold a special place in my heart because they truly do care about their residents. Sincerely, Susie Brown

This is a beautiful facility with lovely large private rooms, a wonderful dining room and interesting activities for the residents. My husband and I have lived here for over a year and couldnt be happier. I have to give our daughter, Aleta Nissen the credit for finding it for us!!

Mt. Bachelor Assisted Living and Memory Care is a bright and cheery place. Residents have many activities to choose from. The food is tasty and good variety. Home made soups and breads. Caregivers are helpful and kind.

My mother moved into the Mt. Bachelor Memory Care unit a year ago, and I couldnt be happier with the care she received there. The professionalism, kindness and compassion shown to Mom during her life was unequaled by other local facilities where she had lived. It lifted such a burden from my shoulders knowing that Mom was safe and secure with the staff there, and I will be forever grateful that my mothers final year was a happy one.

My Grandfather moved in a year ago just after Grandmother passed away. We (the family) couldnt be happier. He is thriving, the staff is amazing the facility is top notch. Grandpa thinks its a resort hotel, which in understandable thats what it looks and feels like. We all rest assured knowing that he is safe, healthy and happy thanks to Mt Bachelor Assisted Living

The care my brother-in-law is receiving is the most compassionate, consistent and professional care in Bend. The effort they put in to make the care unit a family is amazing. They are always involved in activities, arts and crafts, painting, games, history games, trips around Bend. They have a special Happy Hour with snacks and goodies, someone playing the piano, singing ect. We always see interaction with care givers and nobody sleeping in chairs...
