I am extremely happy with my decision to move my mother into Colonial Oaks two years ago. The memory care facility and staff are top-notch and supported all of my mother's needs. The outings, crafts, music, dance, interactions with children and pets made her daily life vibrant and comfortable. The staff's kindness and attentiveness provided immense relief, and their genuine affection for her was evident. The on-staff doctor and nurses adapted their care approach as her condition changed and coordinated with hospice, ensuring her comfort. The dedicated staff, who always go above and beyond, truly set Colonial Oaks apart. Their support and care, especially in my mother's final days, were invaluable. I am deeply grateful for the wonderful life they gave my mother in her last year.

Our father has been at Colonial Oaks for over 1 year. It was his decision to transition from independent living to assisted living care and he always knew this was where he wanted to be. Colonial Oaks is a warm and welcoming environment and Dad feels safe, loved and at home. The staff is professional, caring and attentive. Colonial Oaks has been such a good fit for our Mom who is unable to live alone. She lived with us for 4 years before we were no longer able to care for her at home. Grace Maloba, DON and Michaela RN have worked hard to ensure she feels welcome, relevant and has an opportunity to be involved. They have been attentive to our concerns and offered trouble shooting strategies that have been a win/win. So grateful!

We are very happy to have found Colonial Oaks and have felt at home from the first day. We happened to walk in the door to a lovely fire in the fireplace and a cozy living room where residents were sitting in comfortable chairs listening to someone playing the piano before dinner. That set the tone for my husband's first impression of peace, comfort, safety……exactly what we were looking for. We haven't been disappointed. The facility is lovely, he loves his apartment, with a real refrigerator and a small porch. The staff have been caring, conscientious and attentive. He had been through a lot before coming here and it was such a relief to settle in and find a home-like environment with a truly loving community…and he likes the food! There are lots of activities and a lovely courtyard. His favorite thing is pet therapy and the many dogs who visit. Most important to me is the strong nursing presence here and the quality and training of the medication techs and CNA's. It has proven to be a much better fit for him than memory care because they still provide the highest level of assistance and he has much more personal freedom. The cost turned out to be much less than memory care too, a nice surprise as well.

I placed my sister at Colonial Oaks early last year, 2022. My sister needed assisted living Plus++. She has diabetes and Parkinson's and a number of other care issues; incontinence, bathing, etc. plus memory issues. The staff manages her medication, tests her glucose and takes wonderful care of her. It takes so much more than assisted living. I looked at 15+ assisted living places. The problem I found the others increased costs on the added care so when it was all done their costs were $10k+/mo. Colonial Oaks is what ever it takes to care for the resident for a set price. Your loved one may come in needing only room & board but later on will need help with bathing, then help with medication, etc. The price doesn't change. The people are well trained so your loved one continues to be taken care of.

I am extremely happy with my decision to move my mother into Colonial Oaks five months ago. The memory care facility is top-notch and met all of my mother's needs. One of the most positive changes for my mother has been finding a boyfriend. The staff has been incredibly supportive in fostering and maintaining this special relationship, and it has brought so much joy to my mother's life! I am truly grateful for their care. The facilities are always clean and well-maintained, and they are currently undergoing a complete remodel with new colors, new carpet, updated dining room, and new furniture throughout. The transformation has been incredible to watch. My son enjoys coming to visit and playing the grand piano in the lobby. But it is the staff that truly sets Colonial Oaks apart. They are dedicated to the well-being of their residents and always go above and beyond to provide the best care possible. They also keep me informed and reassured, which makes me feel good knowing my mother is in great hands.

Two years ago my mother passed away at Leawood Gardens. I can't adequately express how much the people at Leawood Gardens, in particular Grace, made it one of the most sacred, beautiful times we ever had with my mother. She was only at the facility for several months but the people, their care and sensitivity was such a huge factor in always having the memory of the months leading up to her passing as a positive uplifting one. Difficult certainly, but beautiful as well. Will always have "Grace Joy" close in our hearts for how she helped my mother and our entire family during this time.

My mom has lived at Colonial Oaks for over a year. We have been pleased with her care and the help she receives from the staff. She is loving the new culinary team and says that she might be gaining a few pounds because the food is so good. They are currently remodeling the community and it is really looking good. Staffing challenges continue to plague many businesses, but I appreciate the communication and work that the team there has put into finding caring employees in this difficult environment.

If you are looking for a senior living facility for yourself or a loved one, this facility is a great choice! The staff is always friendly and they take the time to get to know their residents. The activities department does a wonderful job keeping everyone active and busy! They offer in house therapy (PT/OT/ST) so that the residents maintain strength in their home environment. It is easy to see that the residents are happy and enjoy where they live. Highly recommend!

We moved my mother in a month ago. The transition was hard for her at first, but everyone at Colonial Oaks were so nice! My mother loves how nice all the staff is to her. She loves living there now. First off I work here. When coming to work I saw one of the residents that I knew at the other place I worked. She looked fantastic. Colonial Oaks just loved her back to good health. We are a small place and it has a homey feel to it. Our Director of Nursing has been here along time and is one of the most caring and warm person I know. This is a good landing spot for your loved one.

Leawood Gardens (now Colonial Oaks) has provided a really lovely environment for our mom who suffers from dementia. She moved in just as COVID was shutting the world down. During an extremely difficult transition in her life (and ours) made even more so by the Pandemic, we found the staff to be really wonderful and caring. We chose Leawood Garden because of the beautiful, clean, bright and overall pleasant atmosphere of the space. There are so many windows that allow for natural light to brighten the hallways. A beautiful fireplace is a centerpiece in the lobby with several chairs/sofas for residents to relax and gather. The outdoor garden area located completely surrounded by the facility is just lovely. The grounds are kept up beautifully and seasonally. Although our mom does not regularly participate due to her dementia, there are daily activities happening in the large gathering area: Bingo, art, dog visits, exercises, music.... The dining area is also lovely and offers a wide variety. When our mom first moved in, she was not eating much. The chef actually reached out and asked what was in the salad we often brought from a restaurant that she liked so much. He wanted to recreate it in his kitchen for her. We are truly grateful for the care our mom has received at Colonial Oaks.

Mom chose to move to Colonial Oaks Senior Living at Leawood, formerly known as Grace Gardens of Leawood and Leawood Gardens, in 2017. Her best friend had recently moved in, and we were told that this would be her home until she passed away which recently happened in November. We liked that it was a smaller one story community with a beautiful courtyard and the location was perfect. Her one bedroom apartment with a living room on the courtyard side with a patio was spacious enough and very comfortable. The staff that has been put into place since she moved to the community is exemplary. The Nursing staff is extremely caring, compassionate, and communicative. The Administrative staff is cooperative, knowledgeable, and also very caring. We had our struggles throughout the years. However, we all learned to work together and cooperate to provide a comfortable caring safe home for our Mom. She was completely comfortable and always felt loved, safe and cared for. She thoroughly enjoyed interacting with other residents in all the activities and in the dining room. She loved every member of the staff she came in contact with. We thank everyone for everything with all our hearts. We recommend if anyone is considering a senior living community for a loved one visit and get to know everyone at Colonial Oaks Senior Living at Leawood.

This community has the most caring staff. It is very home like and small enough that everyone knows each other. The Courtyard is inviting and the natural sunlight in the building is beautiful. It is also the best deal for the money in Leawood. I would highly recommend.

We continue to be very pleased with the level of care that Mom receives, as well as with the cleanliness of the facility and the friendliness and accessibility of the staff. Leawood Gardens is a great place to be when staying at home is no longer an option.

Leawood Gardens simply has the best people you will find caring for its residents. I brought my 83 yr old father with dementia there 7 months ago and he loves it. This place is more like a great apartment where he has friends caring for him... than a home. My mother in law is in a more expensive assisted living facility only a few miles away and her experience has not been nearly as positive as mine with my father. If you are looking for peace of mind that comes with knowing your loved one is in the perfect place, nobody touches Leawood Gardens.

Lovingkindness. Since my mother has been at Leawood Gardens, we have both received lovingkindness from all of the glorious individuals who are employed at this amazing senior community! My mother is now THRIVING! She adores all of the staff and is anxiously waiting for this dreaded COVID-19 to release its hold, so that she may meet other residents and dance, dance, dance! I am in awe of this community and feel so incredibly blessed that my mother is at Leawood Gardens. My deepest, heartfelt, genuine thanks to the staff that made this happen for my mom and my unconditional,never-ending gratitude to the nursing staff, cmas, cnas, housekeeping, nutrition services, therapy services, activity services and who am I forgetting??Your tireless, compassionate efforts have not gone unnoticed. Did a tour today for our love one and we were beyond impressed. The rooms are spacious and beautiful and everything is well thought out and a lot to offer , clean !!! Neat!!! Friendly staff and they have activities for the residence. Seems like a very well run facility and recently updated and hopefully we can speak further because I am positive my mom would be happy there and our family would feel confident that our mom is well taken care of and in a very good place.
