I am a volunteer with Delaware County Master Gardeners. Once a month we visit and hold workshops on flowers, bees and garden related crafts. The residents and staff are always so happy. I’ve been here for a week and already feeling a sense of community, various services and support like I’m home with family of brothers and sisters with diverse needs and interests but still each receives the best care that can change any moment. My mom Toni was in memory care at the Avalon from January 2024 until June of 2025. The entire staff” aids, nurses, administrators etc. were all wonderful! I always felt like my mom was safe and well taken care of .. The memory care manager, Debbie Cua is great, they are well staffed, with very little turnover.The residents are kept engaged in lots of activities throughout the day ... I felt like all the residents were treated with respect and love.. My mom loved everyone at the Avalon, staff and residents! I highly recommend the Avalon at Lewis Center!!

I moved my Mom to The Avalon of Lewis Center in June after a terrible experience at another facility. The Avalon has so many wonderful activities and programs for my Mom. The staff is wonderful and very caring.. I know that my Mom is being cared for by all the staff. Her room is beautiful and always clean. The food is very good and the staff is happy to accommodate the residents. I always feel welcome when I visit my Mom and I can participate in the activities if I want to. The Avalon has a full staff in Memory Care. We love that there are activities every day and most of the day! The place is clean, rooms are big and they pride themselves on making things right!! We experienced warm greetings from the staff here! From the visit, to the paperwork, meeting the staff and the excellent food choices. The Avalon is truly great!! To see Mom Barb interact with others, the staff actually keeping her clean throughout the day/brushing her teeth, checking on her, communicate with us and smiling, does our hearts good!! The family knows we made the right choice when we moved her from a place that was less caring.

It's been just under 2 years since mom moved in to the memory care. She's thriving. In past "facilities," her decline was heartbreaking. To see her happy, safe, active, and making friends is amazing! Five years ago, we moved my husbands mother, (my mother-in-law) Into The Avalon of Lewis Center. It was one of the best moves we could have made for her. Not only was the staff amazing, attentive and friendly, but they made her feel so at home in her new surroundings and took such great care of her. She was there for five years and we never had anything but good things to say. The staff is better than any facility I have been to and or visited. We had such a great experience that when the time came, we also moved my mother to Avalon. She is so happy there and loves her apartment and the fact that she can bring her own belongings. The food is great, it is immaculately clean, and there are so many activities and experiences for the residents to enjoy. I wouldn’t hesitate to send anyone to Avalon.

Incredibly caring and helpful staff. A diverse offering of social activities, including weekly trips to the grocery store, games, lunch outings, tailgate parties, music, and happy hours. There’s a rotation of unique outings based upon the season, whether it’s a farm market or a holiday activity. There are plenty of options every day for the residents to pick and choose their favorites. The staff maintains a positive attitude and clearly understands each individual, both in terms of their personalities and specific needs. Each resident has their laundry done twice a week and the room cleaned on a weekly basis. The nursing staff follows up regularly and the support system includes occupational, physical and speech therapy.

Two years ago, my 87-year-old brother-in-law moved from Chicago to live with my husband (his brother) and me in Ohio. As I began cancer treatment, we realized we needed additional support to ensure he had the care and community he deserved. That’s when we found Avalon of Lewis Center”and we are truly grateful. Avalon has provided a sense of family, comfort, and connection that has helped our loved one thrive in this later season of life. The facility is always clean, welcoming, and thoughtfully maintained. The staff is friendly, compassionate, and consistently responsive to the needs of their residents.
