After visiting several assisted living facilities, my husband and I moved his mom into Wentworth at end of May after her hospitalization and rehab. It was the most reasonable,beautiful and clean facility we had seen, and the residents looked truly happy and cared for. Mom made several friends with the staff and residents. The nursing staff was excellent, especially, Jean, and they always went out of their way to help her when needed. There were a few exceptions to this, Shay the director of nursing, who was rude and threatening the nurses and patient aids if they showed too much kindness and compassion by helping her "beyond the scope of assisted living facility rules". Mom passed away November 25th 2025 after moving her Orlando health bayfront hospice care. Thank you to the staff of Wentworth for making her stay comfortable and happy.

We have a friend who is living at Wentworth Central Avenue and she generally likes living there, likes the staff very much, and the residents who are all very nice. Her one complaint is the dining room. It seems that quite often, she can't get the entree that she would like because they've run out. It also seems to take a very long time to get the food, and while she really loves breakfast she said it's always so cold. She doesn't want to ask them to heat it because it would take so long to get it back. So, it seems that the food service area could stand to use a lot of improvement. Otherwise she seems content.

Recently I went through the painful headache of finding the right forever home for my Mothers in law. We stumbled upon the facility and thought why not give it look. She truly fell in love with it and the staff quickly became like family to her. The facility and staff promote an active lifestyle for her. Recently her and her peers went on a trip to the beach. Needless to say we are happy with this forever home and it seems to be an excellent fit for my Mother in law.

Every time I visit there it is such a wonderful experience, from the Executive director, to the hospitality director (Annette) and the director of nursing (Raquel) everyone is so nice and caring. Also Wentworth is probably the nicest, cleanest assisted living facility in the area. You can just tell the residents are well taken care of, every time I am there they are always smiling and upbeat. When it comes to an assisted living facility, if the residents are happy, then you know everyone is doing a great job from the management to the employees.

My parents moved into Wentworth on Central about 6 months ago. I couldn't be happier with the decision to have them there. The staff is amazing, friendly, professional and very competent. The facilities are well kept, there are lots of activities and things for the residents to do. The food is excellent. They have a professional chef and kitchen staff to cater to individual's diets, etc. The medical care they receive at Wentworth is also top notch. Raquel, the director of nursing and wellness, and the rest of the medical staff are very caring, well-trained and educated in the caring of elderly people. They also have a PT on the premises, a doctor that comes a few times a week, and specialists also visit. If you are looking for an Assisted Living Facility in Tampa Bay, I'd highly recommend getting in touch with Alice or have a chat with their executive director Rebecca at Wentworth on Central for a tour. You won't be disappointed!

I feel as though Wentworth works very hard to make residents happy. They take the extra step to satisfy our needs. The rooms are very nice. Drew, the bus driver has made some recommendations for area attractions and was super helpful. The Chefs are outstanding and it shows in the meals we eat. I’m glad I chose Wentworth!

Dad resided at Wentworth from 2021 until his recent passing. Choosing an assisted living community is stressful and our family visited quite a few places before deciding on Wentworth. Our first impressions were positive. The directors provided several tours and answered all our questions. The building was clean, maintained, bright, and nicely decorated. The apartments were comfortable. Dad always looked forward to mealtimes “ the large and inviting dining room, the food, and the companionship of his table mates. The activities offered to residents were varied and plentiful. All the staff “ nursing, caregivers, dining, activities, housekeeping, maintenance, directors “ knew Dad and our family. They were kind toward Dad and genuinely shared in our sadness at his passing. Dad called Wentworth his home, and my siblings and I have no doubt that it was the right choice for Dad.

After our mother had a stroke and she could not care for herself completely we researched assisted living places in St. Petersburg. We decided on Wentworth on Central. We cannot say enough great things about this facility...apartment on a monthly basis, residents, staff, care, activities and management. All management and staff are always available for you to communicate with and the care staff are always available to care for our mother. Our mother was not sure about assisted living at first but now loves living there.

We have had a stellar experience with Wentworth. We needed to find a memory care facility for our father as he had a sudden status change with his dementia. Everyone was so helpful, kind, patient, and knowledgeable in helping him to transition to his new home. Even in his confused state they new just how to reassure him and redirect his attention. My parents moved to Wentworth in 2014. My father has since passed but his favorite thing to do was to plant veggies in the earthbox they had on their patio while getting some fresh air. Recently my mother celebrated her 94th birthday the same weekend as Mother’s Day. I figured it's about time I write a review about where my mom calls home. If I have forgotten someone or a department I apologize. Beth in nursing took the time to go over my mom’s medication list yesterday. Under the previous ownership no one had ever done that before. Cassandra has called me several times on my mom’s behalf even when I did not expect an update. I cannot say enough good things about all of the nursing staff. If not for them my nights would be sleepless worrying about my mom. Janine and Barb keep the residents very busy with engaging activities. I always see the residents smiling when I walk through the facility. I even enjoy spending time with them during the various activities they have planned throughout the day. My mom has her favorite activities she anticipates attending every week. Jesse and the kitchen staff ensure the residents have a great variety of tasty, healthy, and good quality meals. Jesse has made a special point to see that my mom eats every meal especially breakfast since she is not a morning person. The staff make me aware of anytime she does not eat or does not go down to the dining room. If they notice my mom did not go to the dining room they make sure to check on her. Housekeeping is also great. I visit my mom several times a week and every time her room and the facility are very clean. The team also makes sure that her laundry is done and that she has everything she needs. Raquel does an amazing job of keeping me updated on my mom’s health. Recently mom had a rough weekend and Raquel called me on Monday to give me an update. The front desk/reception team is sure to make everyone feel welcome and ensure that everyone follows the COVID-19 guidelines. If I ever need anything the front desk staff go above and beyond to assist me. Recently the facility got a new hair stylist. While the hair salon was under renovation the stylist made a huge effort to go to the resident’s room to provide hair services. My mom looks forward to seeing the hair stylist every few weeks. You might be aware that a change in ownership recently took place. Before the change in ownership the facility was good, now it is great. The new Executive Director Tracey keeps family members informed of all the events, changes, and COVID-19. She really takes the time to make sure family members are kept informed and she truly cares about the residents and staff. Never before had any director reached out to me or kept me updated on anything. A lot of money was also spent within the facility to update furnishings, art work, etc. This new ownership and staff go well above and beyond what is expected of them to make sure the residents are safe and happy. The facility is a great size and not overwhelming for the residents. Additionally, the staff to resident ratio is exceptional. Keep up the great work Wentworth!
