I’ve had such a wonderful experience with Morningside of Wilmington. From the moment you walk in, there is such a warm and welcoming atmosphere that truly makes the community feel like home. You can tell the staff genuinely care about the residents and families they serve. A huge shoutout to Megan, Christine, Haley, Terry, and Sunshine for always being so kind, welcoming, compassionate, and willing to help however they can. Their dedication and positive attitudes truly make a difference and do not go unnoticed. It’s clear this is more than just a job to them ” they genuinely care for their residents and work hard to create a loving, supportive environment. I would absolutely recommend Morningside to anyone looking for a place where their loved one will be treated with kindness, dignity, and genuine compassion.

Relocated my mother from New England to Morningside Assisted Living in Wilmington NC a few weeks ago. The transition came up fairly quickly and involved a transfer from a physical rehab facility to Morningside. My experience working with Director Haley Franklin, and Admissions Director Christine Brinkley, was exceptional, from explaining living options, costs, on-site resources, and the handling of the virtual assessment that enabled my mom to onboard expediently at Morningside. Our first 2-3 weeks of experience with the facility have also been very positive, finding all staff to be courteous, compassionate, professional and responsive.

I don’t normally do these reviews, but this was one I felt like I needed to do. Last week, I came in with a friend of family to Morningside for a visit with her grandmother, and was greeted by the warmest young woman named Megan! She was super inviting and welcoming. From the moment we walked in, she greeted me with such a warm and genuine smile that immediately made me feel welcome. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and more than willing to help with anything I needed. I left feeling impressed and grateful ” she is a wonderful first impression for the entire place, so thank you, Megan!

My father was diagnosed with dementia years ago, and one of the hardest decisions our family faced was knowing when it was time for him to move into a care community. The management team at Morningside made that transition so much easier for us. Their compassion, guidance, and support through every step of the process meant the world to us. I had a lot of questions and concerns, and they were always available”whether by phone or text”to offer help and reassurance. Their dedication gave our family peace of mind during an incredibly emotional time. One of the things that really stood out for us”and especially for my dad”was the beautiful outdoor spaces. Being able to sit in the sun and enjoy the fresh air brought him a lot of joy, and that made all the difference.

Our family was very pleased with the care and concern our mother received at Morningside. She arrived after a lengthy hospital stay, and the staff worked hard to get her back on her feet. She participated in all the scheduled actvities. Like any community, there are hiccups. The door was always open for our concerns and we worked through them. She did feel the food choices and service could be improved.

Been all over southeastern NC looking for the best fit for my parent - early on memory issues and needs minor assistance. Morningside was the perfect fit - amazing staff - clean safe and friendly - small and cozy.

Morningside has been a life saver for me and my 93 year old Dad. The staff has been kind and he has friends and a community that cares about him. I visit most days and everyone is friendly and courteous. I can rest easy knowing he is well cared for and happy.

Staff is always welcoming each and every time I am on their campus. Activities are happening and residents are happy and engaged.

I have a good friend who has lived at Morningside for a couple of years now. Back when I helped her shop for places, we looked at 6. She found Morningside the right size and friendly, with about 100 residents. She even knew a few people there. Some other places were gigantic with lots of activities and a big pool, like a cruise ship. But by the time she needed care, she was mentally and physically beyond those activities and found the size bewildering. (Couples were there with one person needing more care, while the other was more active.) Recently, after another fall, she was moved from a courtyard room, with a more independent life, into the memory care wing that is secured. In both areas, the people are so caring. I live in another state, so my visits are unannounced. She is always dressed and presentable. This time, she had a recent haircut. She has happy, lucid times when we talk about her past work or current trends. We both enjoy the day. I feel good that she is getting the care she needs.

We have been so pleased with Morningside. Our mother has been there for approx. 8 months and we couldn’t be happier! We feel fortunate to have found them. The staff is always so friendly and it’s always sparkling clean. Highly recommend!

My mother-in-law has been at Morningside for about a month. We just visited her and were so impressed with the care she is receiving. The bedrooms are bright, modern and very clean. The staff are kind and wonderful with initiating conversation. There are activities scheduled throughout the day that the residents have the option to attend. Meals are served in a spacious dining room and residents often make friends with their table mates. The residents I spoke to all shared they enjoyed the food and not having to eat alone. What I loved was the courtyard that was accessible from the hallway and some bedrooms. So lovely to be able to sit in the sun and enjoy nature in a safe setting.

In December of 2020 my father was diagnosed with stage iv brain cancer and given a year to live with surgery and treatment. Thankfully he had a successful surgery but unfortunately he was left somewhat impaired from the cancer and treatment. When he returned home after rehab readjusting was very difficult for him and my mother, though she really wanted to take care of him it was just too much for her. Morningside was the solution we needed. Before my father moved in I was worried he would feel abandoned, lonely and out of place but I soon found out those concerns were very much mistaken. When I visited him at Morningside I found the staff to be cheerful and helpful, my father always had a big smile on his face when an aide would pop in to check on him and he would invariably tell them they were "the best", which I'm sure he meant every time but he probably forgot there were a lot of "the bests" working at Morningside. The residents were very welcoming to him even though the cancer left him difficult to understand. He was always telling me about some new friend or other he had made at dinner. It saddened me greatly that he wasn't able to live in his home any longer but after some first month jitters I was relieved that we had found a new home and community for him at Morningside. I especially want to thank all of the staff and residents who gave us so much support and kindness in the final weeks of his life. I know from the many heartfelt conversations I shared with the staff that everyone there genuinely cared for him. There were quite a few staff who told me with sincere affection he was "their baby." The ladies who lived on his hall always had the kindest words of support for us, which made me feel a little better in a very hard time and were much appreciated. With no exaggeration the last year and 4 months has been the most difficult period of my life, it goes without saying that my father's passing has been a very sad time for me but I'm also sad to move on from all of you at Morningside. Its been a long hard year and a half since my father was diagnosed, my most sincere thanks to all of you for making it a little friendlier, a little more comfortable, a little safer and most of all for making my father and family feel at home in your community.

I had called Morningside a couple months ago and spoke with Christine. Kind of explained my situation when my father to her so I wasn’t really sure at the time with care he really needed. I had contacted just about everybody in town I could contact and a lot of of them I left messages and nothing no return calls or anything, but I want to give a huge shout out to Christine at Morningside community because she was diligent about staying in touch with me and finding out the progress with my father She would touch base with me regularly. Finally they went and did an assessment and he didn’t qualify with what their community can offer him but I just want to shout out to her for her due diligence and going over and beyond to try and help me. thank you so much Christine It meant more to me than you’ll ever know And quite clearly this is an indication of the caring people and the facility Kudos

My aunt came to Morningside 2 years ago. Initially things seem to go well, then she began to say people were coming into her room and taking things. I decided to install a camera in her room to keep an eye on her. One week later I caught an employee walking into her room when she was at lunch snooping around in her things. This was reported and employee was fired. Most recent situation, another employee (maintenance) was caught saying inappropriate things to her and touching her. Again this was obviously more serious and police was involved, employee fired and investigation still happening. This leaves alot to be said. I am constantly watching everything since I really don't feel confident that my aunt is safe. Although the Director did act immediately I feel more needs to be done on their part to ensure that the vulnerable residents that are under their care are safe from all these predators out there.

Thank you Morningside, for loving my Grandmother and making sure she has everything she needs to be happy. My appreciation level is off the charts.

This is a very nice facility and not overly large. The staff seems very caring and attentive. My mother seems to be enjoying it and says the meals are also very good.

The staff is courteous, professional, understanding and caring. They particularly reach out to answer questions and address your requests. They work to offer residents the best possible quality of life experience. Kudos for their effective and successful meeting of the challenges and associated limitations caused by the Covid 19 pandemic.

A beautiful property with wonderful staff and residents. Enclosed gardens with rooms that open to a garden courtyard. Feels like a condo complex that is not too large to make of a great community for socialization without feeling overwhelmed. A sense of care and comfort like a home.

My recent experience with Morningside was phenomenal! I had an great experience with Haley the Activites Director! She showed great patience and true care about what was best for my mother in a recent room selection! Keep up the great work Haley!

I relocated mom from Florida to morningside at Wilmington NC in 4/17 due to tragic family circumstances. It was difficult for mom, 89 at the time, however I worked jointly with staff and outside agencies to get her comfortable in her new environment. Mom loved every staff member there no matter what area of the facility they worked in and they loved her too. She loved her bingo and farkle games and highly enjoyed the musical entertainment they brought in to the facility. Mom is now with her family who have passed before her. I hope all who reside or potential residents enjoy it as much as mom did. From my perspective as her daughter I thank ALL the employees for their caring attitude. You guys are the best

We had 4 days (including the 4th of a July) to find a spot for Dad due to Mom needing a triple bypass and being unable to care for him. In less than a day Patti and the amazing folks at Morningside - had done everything on their end for him to move in on the following Monday. And in the middle of all of this was the 4th of July! The staff is all very friendly and helpful. And my Dad is the most active I have seen him since having a stroke almost 9 years ago!! Thank you Morningside!!

Marie Johnson I took my mom for a tour at Pacifica Senior Living a few years ago they had the most caring and wonderful Memory care director she was so great with the residents she treated them all as if they was her own family I remember her name was Belinda I cannot remember her last name. Well anyway I went back for a tour and found she was no longer their so I decided not to tour.
September 2014
My mother is a resident of Pacifica. I think they take very good care of her. She has lots of activities and everything is always clean and welcoming. It is centrally located to shopping and churches. If you should need to have medical attention at the hospital, it is close. I highly recommend it for any senior in need of a very nice place to live.

My problem is that the phone in my mothers room keeps being disconnected and I have to call the nurses station and surprise surprise moms' room phone works again!
