The etta is very professional and is a facility that actually cares about their residents. The workers there are always locked in and dedicated to attend to their residents Especially in memory care. At the end they work very hard to provide extra care. Now this ain't an easy job and this job is not for the weak it's about hard work and empathy. Now there is some who comes and go that's okay cause like I said this job is not easy but not once since I been at the Etta I haven't seen not one person who doesn't care bout their residents.

Making the decision to move my parents into an assisted living was not an easy one by far, but the thoughtful staff at The Etta went above and beyond to help make this transition for our family as smooth as possible. They even made it possible for my mom and dad to keep their dog by installing a gate on the porch of the apartment so that they could easily take her out. This kind of service is truly unique and reflects the warm and caring attitude that everyone wants for their family.

The Etta at Shavano Park is simply amazing! My mother who lived with me in Los Angeles during the Pandemic was ready to go back to San Antonio, and I wanted to make it happen for her. What became clear to me while she lived with me was that she couldn't live by herself, she needed assistance. Thanks to my brother and sister-in-law they found The Etta! From the first Terryl was fantastic in giving us the run down, she was patience and understanding which was incredibly helpful. Once my mom was there the staff and occupants were quick to make my mom felt cared for and included. Meghan, the onsite nurse made sure all was in place, and periodically sends me photos of my mom during an activity, which warms my heart to see my mom so happy. Lexi at the front desk is warm and kind, the weekend staff, and all who are there to care and serve are fabulous! I highly recommend The Etta, what a gift it has been to my mom and my family. #blessed

This place doesn't even deserve one star. I'm one of the many hospice nurses that serves this place. The RCC I think her name is [name removed] is a very unprofessional person. One of my many times been in the memory care facility. I've seen her yelling at one of the residents because she was grinding her teeth!!! Telling her to "STOP DOING THAT. IT'S FU**ING Annoying!!!!!" She was really mad because the place it's under staff and she had to help with that particular resident! Ambar is very loud and vulgar! she puts a FU**CK on every sentence and talk about the residents and the staff in a very unprofessional manner. No wonder they're always under staff. The CNAs for the most part are good but, you can tell they are over work and under paid! Overall, this place looks nice-looking but behind closed doors, it's dirty they don't really have housekeeping. The food sucks and management SUCKS!!! Don't bring your loved ones to this place please!!!

The Director Lisa Lopez has been exceptional to work with. She and her staff have contacted me on any and all issues good or bad. I have gotten to know some of the staff like Joanna Floth, Jessica Flores and Amber. I don't know Ambers last name but nevertheless, they have all been great to work with and very responsive in returning calls. Thank you all for keeping my mothers safety and health your main concern!

The first thing I noticed about the Etta was that it didn’t smell bad when I walked in. The assisted living facility or the memory care building. Both were clean and fresh. All of the residents I saw were clean. No one was in distress. The faculty speak to the residents by name and with respect. I decided to move my dad in to the memory care facility and things are going great. They have quickly responded to every need we’ve had and then some. They have gone above and beyond to make our transition as easy as possible. Terryl Troyer has been an angel for me. First off, she listens. She’s extremely knowledgeable and on top of everything. I trust her and The Etta with my dad’s well-being. I would definitely recommend The Etta to anyone looking for care for a loved one.

The Etta and their staff are a godsend! They take such good care of my mother, way better than we could. My sisters and I thank god for this place everyday. My mother is so happy here, she tells us that she lives in a fancy hotel.

Our loved one needed help so fast that we didnt know what to do our have the time to research. Terryl the Director of Sales was amazing and didnt treat us as just a sales target. She treated us with compassion and took the time to listen and explained all the options available for our loved one even those outside the Etta. The staff at all levels is compassionate, friendly and professional and we cant brag enough about how awesome they are. Under their care, our loved one has improved to a point that we thought was lost for good 2 months ago.

We've been looking for a place for our very social 84-year-old mother who has dementia. From the minute I walked into the Etta, I was impressed. The exterior looks like a boutique hotel with beautiful landscaping and a very welcoming front porch. Inside, they recently started a full renovation and the work they've done so far is bright, clean and modern. When we toured the "apartments," I was equally pleased. The room we selected for our mother is very large and has a big window that lets in beautiful light. They have a full slate of daily activities and encourage the residents to participate (really going out of their way to ensure everyone is engaged and active). This really appealed to us since our mom is so social and never meets a stranger! The staff is exemplary. Every person we've met is unfailingly kind and appears to really love the work they are doing. They all made the transition very easy for us - they really went out of their way to make it a smooth experience. We are relieved to have her in a place where everyone is so caring and where she can meet new friends and get the social interaction she needs. We are really happy with our experience and highly recommend the Etta.

My mom has been living at The Etta at Shavano Park since August 31, 2021. She is the happiest she has been in a long time since the passing of her beloved husband of over 55 years. The staff and everyone associated with The Etta are the best!!!! They go out of their way to get to know the families as well as the residents. I highly recommend The Etta at Shavano Park to anyone who is looking for the best care for their loved one.

The Etta has had some transitional issues but the new Executive Director along with new and old staff are doing an excellent job. Staff is very caring and go above and beyond. Management is on top of everything. Residents are very well cared for, and some great improvements have been made to make everything even better. Its a beautiful, warm place to live.

As a result of winter storm I couldnt be with my Mother, a resident of The Etta on her birthday. The staff went out of their way to give her a bday party with cupcakes, decorations and presents. Kay also took her outside to get Pics of my mom in the snow and sent them to me. Im so thankful my Mom has found such a wonderful home at the Etta. She loves the residents and staff.

My mother has lived here 5 1, 2 years, including the past 10 months of COVID. I have been pleased with The Ettas infection control procedures. My brother and I met with the Area Director of Operations earlier this week about concerns we have had. She was responsive and proactive. She is available by phone or email and was willing to meet with us in person while maintaining social distancing. She believes families are a priority and I have seen this in action personally. Response time is excellent. She listens and understands the importance of what may seem like small things to others but have great importance to my Mom. The building is in a lovely setting. Mom loves her apartment. It has a private patio that allows her to tend her plants. I am confident things will continue to improve under the leadership of the current Area Director of Operations. I look forward to visiting Mom as all of us get COVID behind us.

The Etta staff members do an excellent job at their task when it comes to our loved ones. I had more positive interactions with the Executive Direction Alfredo than I had with anyone else in the past. He has also been nothing but fair and competent when handling my aunts needs. They have continued to do a fabulous job at taking care of my aunt during COVID, and we are thrilled with the service. I noticed all the bad reviews and its a shame that an employee would target this location in such a manner as everything has been far from the truth.

My mom recently moved in about three weeks ago. The administrative staff have been extremely kind and understanding. They walked us through the whole process of intake and residency. My mothers says she loves it and says the food is awesome. Thank you to the Etta staff for making this transition for my mom and family much, much easier. I have been an employee here since March, I can say I am perfectly happy being employed by this company. Yes, there has been many changes with management over the past few months, but we now have a great Executive Director and a Amazing new nurse, along with an wonderful Resident Care Coordinator who are all caring and very dedicated to the well being of all residents and staff in our community. With a strong management team like the one we have now we will be so much better off because the staff was lacking strong supportive management and we now have the support we need to be the best that we can be. I can say that the caregivers who are here are all here for the right reasons which is to provide our residents with the best care possible even going the extra mile for them. We also strive to have and create great communication with the families of our resident as well. I love working here and have great passion to work with elderly its a huge piece of my heart . I feel that I have to say something about all of the fake post that are being written about The Etta. I have a family member that has been there at the community since 2001. We have been there through out all of the buy outs and we are still there, we have never had a problem with staff. Most of the staff has been there since the building was built in 2000. Yes, covid-19 has impacted the community, but it has also impacted the whole world. We can not blame anyone, staff, mangers for this. Think about it, if they all decided not to come in to work and take care of our love ones, what would you all say then. They kept covid-19 out of The Etta for 4 months, I think we need to be saying Thank You for keeping our family safe. Yes, they have lose some loving residents and their hearts are hurting also. We have become family over all of these years. These fake post that are going up, really need to stop !!!!! Yes, they have a new ED, he just started and the person, persons that has taking the liberty to make not 1 but 4 fake post, you need a job. He hasnt been there long enough for all the bashing. So, with that being said Sit Down Somewhere Petty Betty and Have A Great Day!! And for the person who stated they lost a great Executive Director, I guess your referring to the last one, No! I have worked side by side with The Etta for a few years and have found them to be professional, caring, and responsive. We provide additional services to their residents and I can tell you, if they have any concerns, no matter the time of day or night, they do not hesitate to reach out for help and support. They hold their employees and their partners accountable. They truly care about their residents and their families. My Mother is 91 years old and, if she ever decides to move to Texas, I would have zero hesitation to move her into The Etta. Things are very tough right now with COVID but Ive watched them make incredibly smart decisions to protect their residents. If you are looking for placement for your loved one, I highly recommend The Etta.

Im a regular volunteer at Brookdale Shavano Park and participate in a weekly communion service with several other volunteers and approximately ten Brookdale residents. I have found Brookdale Shavano Park to be a wonderful place to visit, and I thoroughly enjoy my time there. The facilities are beautiful, tastefully decorated, and well cared for; the staff is friendly and helpful--especially Ben, who personally escorts some of the residents to our service. Most important, Im impressed with the spirit of the residents who participate in our service. They care for one another and for the volunteers who care for them. I have received love, kindness, and sincere gratitude from each one of them, and I hope they have received the same from me.

A great friendly atmosphere, fun and exciting activities and lots of love for our residents. Very accommodating for doctors appointments and shopping trips. Nice pretty beauty salon for moms or dads special treats, with very flexible appointments. Walk ins welcome. I love the staff here at Brookdale. Everyone is so kind and helpful. I have been here at Shavano Park Assisted Living for 17 years working with residents and family members. And I can say it has been a pleasure. It is one of the best and most beautiful Communities in the area. Take some time to visit our facility and you will agree.

In March my sisters and I were searching for a place for our mom to live. When we walked in to Brookdale Shavano Park we felt welcomed, and after a tour one of my sisters said this feels like home for mom. She soon moved in, and all the staff from the executive director down have shown great kindness to my family. There are many activities to keep the residents busy, but the most important to me are the various Bible devos and classes that are offered on a regular basis. This has not been an easy move for my mom or us, but the staff at Brookdale Shavano Park has certainly made it more positive and have worked to answer all our questions as we entered this new experience.
