My mom lived here in memory care for yearsthe staff is wonderful!!! I can’t say enough about the love she got here. They had music and parties often and she loved the butterfly garden. Highly recommend !

One of my parents has lived here for 6+ months. This place is very expensive, even with Medicare and long-term care insurance. Here’s what I’ve discovered so far: the professional staff are very slow to reply, if at all, to family inquiries; my parent’s belongings regularly go missing; the bed often has dirty or missing (top/flat) sheets; the bathroom isn’t kept that clean; the room is hot in the summer & too cold now, and the room thermostat cannot controlled by patient. On the positive side, most of the daily care , front desk & dining staff are very nice and helpful; the location is convenient for our family; they extended visiting hours/front door access on the rehab side from 6pm to 8pm.

Mom was a resident in assisted living for 13 months before transferring to the Memory Care unit for the last six weeks of her life. We found the staff very compassionate, and they always rapidly communicated with me regarding mom’s care. We are happy she was in good hands!

The staff here were very responsive to my requests. They were kind, knowledgeable and helpful in every way. My husband received excellent therapy so he was able to return home with even more skills. I highly recommend this center for skilled nursing.

My mother has lived here for a couple years now and the place has exceeded my family's expectations in many ways. The staff are kind, patient, and attentive. Especially Gabby, who works the front desk. She is always pleasant and really goes the extra mile. The facility is clean, handsomely appointed, and upbeat. There is a library, a piano, and lots of outdoor areas where residents can relax. My mom enjoys the food. I hope that when the time comes for me to go to assisted living, I can be at a place as positive and cheerful as Brookdale. The facility is great, but the caring staff are what makes it really special.

My wife is a resident in the skilled nursing facility. Recently while cooking I suffered 2nd degree burns on my hand while browning chicken in very hot oil. Wrist, palm and back of hand. Used Mom's old solution for burns, cold water and butter, resulting in a sleepless night. The next day I went to see my wife as usual early in the morning. When the charge nurse, Stefanie saw my hand and the large blisters covering the burned areas she immediately had nurse Young treat my hand with medicated strips specifically for severe burns and wrap my hand for protection. The nurses continued to treat my hand and re-bandage every day and I can truly say that after two and a half weeks the skin has regenerated and I am now able to function normally. Thanks to the caring and compassionate nursing staff at Brookdale. I have been the recipient of great fortune for their care.

This place is an excelent facility for rehab.of many areas above the normal. Brookdale accomodates the patient in the best ways to bring you back to how you felt in health, and we'll being. The staff in the therapy department are very positive and knowledgeable. They work well in a healing manner, to provide the best care. The staff are always there to help in anyway They can. Excellent place for your loved one to stay. Staff is caring. Building is beautiful. Therapy team does a great job. Food is by far the best I have ever witnessed at a skilled nursing facility. I highly recommend Brookdale Lakeway for anyone looking for a short rehab stay or long term care nursing facility.

Always have pleasant people there and cold water for the ems crews bringing patients in. They also have coffee and the makings for hot tea right there by the water dispenser.

I loved having my Dad at this facility ! I am an RN who does alot of reviews of various facilities in the Austin area and found this facility holds to my high standards of care; are they perfect? no but no facility is perfect; they do need to work on making the brand new residents feel more connected to the groups and services; I was thrilled as was my Dad they allowed his cat, his lifetime companion to share his room with never a complain !! the food was very good with nice presentation always ! I was glad to have my Dad at such a caring and compassionate place !

The help I got from Leslie was outstanding. She did everything she could to improve the life of my mother in law who went from the skilled nursing section to assisted living section. She is now in a wonderful 2 bedroom on the ground floor. In addition to Leslie, all the staff has been extremely sweet and nice. Special thanks to Gabby.

This is my second stay at Brookdale Lakeway. I had a pleasant experience my first time so I decided to return when I had my latest accident. The entire staff from the therapists to the food servers were friendly & very helpful. The therapy staff was dedicated & first rate, which was the primary reason I came back. The meals were great & the services provided made my stay pleasant. I would recommend Brookdale Lakeway to anyone needing a rehab facility.

This is a great place for a SNF. It is clean, and does not smell like most. The staff is great. The residents appear to be "family". At lunch, one of the aides, was teasing and joking with one of the residents. They are not just doing a job. The recreational people are all trained and passionate about stimulating the patients mental capacity. The food is above average and appealing. It appears the chef takes pride in his work even if many of the people are unaware of the care he takes. Even housekeeping talks to the old folks in a kind manner. Admin has taken care of all the insurance problems. I have not heard of anything. The nurses are kind and considerate. Both of my parents are here, pneumonia. Having had different members in other places, from now on this is the only place we will use. I don't normally post things like this, but this is a great place for rehap and skilled nursing.

Our son spent a few weeks here transitioning from intensive neurological rehab to returning home. He was younger than the average resident, but he was treated with respect and care. Medications were monitored carefully, therapy was helpful, and meals were nutritious and attractive. Staff was attentive to our concerns and requests for his care.

My wife has been at Brookdale Lakeway for 2 months in rehab recovering from a stroke. I recommend this facility because- 1. Nursing and aide staff are professional, courteous and respectful of my wife. They clearly love their work and have positive attitudes that give my wife energy and confidence. 2. Therapy department is clearly outstanding. Everyone I have met here feel the same way. They are experts and work so well with my wife to challenge her to work hard but within her capabilities. She has shown steady progress in gaining strength, flexibility and is working toward her goals which were established upon her arrival.They are pleasant, courteous and respectful of my wife's hesitancy and pain as she works on the various routines and receives appropriate electrical stimulation trying to wake up her brain to non responding limbs. 3. The facility is a first class building and is wonderfully maintained daily by a friendly, helpful maintenance staff. 4. The food has varied in quality, but in response to patient concerns is now very good. If one does not care for the menu options, you can order from a list of fast food options. It has a dining room where we have met and enjoyed many patients who together form a special support group helping each other. 5. There are entertainment programs for patients, but my wife has not participated. 6. They have a library room where it is very convenient to receive and meet with guests. 7. We have used the inhouse laundry, beauty parlor and attended church services all of which are good. 8. The medical team, which practices here, have been very helpful in assessing and controlling health and pain issues. This has been our first experience with extensive rehab and we have been very happy in our experience at Brookdale Lakeway.
