In 2024, I began touring memory care facilities for my mom who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. After touring several facilities I decided to visit Esplanade Gardens. It was a beautiful facility and the front office staff was very friendly. I met with Laura, Marketing Director who gave me a tour of the facility. Laura answered all my questions and addressed any concerns I had. I thought it would be best to take advantage of the Respite Program which would give me an opportunity to see how well my mom would adjust. The caregivers in the Memory Care area were very nice and made my mom feel very comfortable. In November 2024, mom moved in full time and she is doing great. I visit mom often and she never fails to tell me how nice the people are. Any questions or concerns I have are always addressed in a timely manner. I appreciate the staff and caregivers for taking such wonderful care of my mom and for giving me peace of mind knowing that she is in good hands. God bless you!

I searched for retirement communities for my Mom in 2023. My criteria were facilities that were open, inviting, clean and friendly, among other things. My Mom likes lots of natural light and engaging activities such as live music and bingo. We discovered Esplanade Gardens and she moved in a year ago. Esplanade has easy access to highways, amenties, and pharmacies. The staff are all professional, patient, friendly, and attentive. The front office is well organized and helpful. The maintenance and facility staff are on top of all the cleanliness and repair orders. The chef and kitchen staff are superb!!! My Mom never misses a meal and always has rave reviews. The medical staff and the aides are tireless and wonderfully compassionate. They are faithful to reach out to me in the event of any concerns for my Mom's wellbeing. The nurses are very bright and conscientious. The aides are first class! They never show anything besides a willingness to cheerfully help out in any situation. The leasing office is simple, flexible, and straightforward- no hidden expenses. The social and activities department is creative and engaging, always decorating the facility for each new holiday and event. Esplanade is large enough to have everything my Mom needs but small enough for everyone to know each other on a first name basis. Rapport and dignity define this friendly assisted living community in Live Oak. My Mom is well cared for and happily settled here. I'm grateful for the attention and care I can count on the staff at Esplanade to provide. Thank you Esplanade!! 10/10

I have been with Esplanade Gardens since Feb 2014. Recently, a Med Tech noticed I was having an elevated BP issue. Our RCD sent me to the ER. She then had me stay overnight in a guest room at EG for continued care. Fantastic staff. I am thankful for such caring colleagues to work with. Our residents receive the same care and compassion.

Over two years ago now our family did a search of Assisted Living facilities in the San Antonio area for my parents to move to. We are so happy that we found Esplanade Gardens! They were easy to work with from the very beginning and have made life so much better for both my mom and dad. When my mom had some health issues that necessitated her being in other facilities, my dad contemplated moving to the assisted living part of the other nursing home to be close to mom. But after staying there for two weeks he couldn't wait to "go home" to Esplanade. Unfortunately my mom passed shortly after that. Dad now continues to live at Esplanade Gardens and they continue to help him have the best quality of life possible. The staff there is loving, caring and take good care of their people. It truly is like being home.

I moved in to Esplanade Gardens not knowing what to expect. It wasn't long before I met a couple of people. These people introduced me to various activities, and things to do here at the Gardens. I enjoy being here as the staff and residents are great. If anything is needed the staff are right here to help. It's a great place to live.

This was a difficult survey for me. While the assisted living side of this facility was very good the memory care side of this facility is very poorly facilitated. The staff on the memory care side with the exception of one or two is awful. The staff lacks professionalism, empathy, and the compassion necessary to care for elderly and dementia residents. Our loved one regressed on the memory care side due to lack of interaction , activities, brain stimulation strategies. Our loved one did not receive assistance with ADLS , there were times when we would visit and the linen was soiled on the bed, foul urine odor, on bedding, and bathroom, we discovered that our loved one was putting on the same dirty clothing and under garments soiled with accidents. Our family discovered several pairs of clothing in the garbage in the room because our loved one thought it was the dirty clothes hamper. The staff on the memory side were not friendly when we spoke to them about our concerns, they addressed us rudely with unpleasant tones. We noticed our loved one calling us several times asking saying to us "get me out of here their mean to me" at times crying. We were told by our loved one that the weekday staff were mean and harsh. The facility out side of the memory care side is very nice , the staff is great Taylor is a God send and a great asset to Esplanade Gardens. I would not recommend anyone to the memory care side. the memory cares side requires the attention of the Directors for the betterment of the residents.

Mom has been here 6 months now and she does definitely enjoy it. It is clean and the staff are extremely welcoming and nice. I've eaten there once (covid restrictions a little still) and the food was very good, she loves her apartment with her own bathroom and being able to sit at lunch w friends she has made and watch the squirrels and birds in the beautiful courtyard. Im glad to have found this location. Also there are amazing doctors and hospitals located within five minutes of the building which make it very easy for appointments that they take her too when im unable to.

I have had the opportunity to tour and meet many key people, like the Administrator, the Director of Nursing, and the Lead Marketer, along with other valuable employees. The facility is nestled in the heart of the Northeast and has that feeling of home. Many of employees and leadership team have been there for quite a while which shows loyalty and consistency at Esplanade Gardens. At the end of the day, it’s the care of loved ones that matter in a nice place with great care. Esplanade Gardens is definitely a place to consider if you are looking for a place for your loved ones.

My mom lived here for about 2 years before she passed recently. They were kind enough to bus her friends to attend her memorial. She was very happy living there and enjoyed all of the activities. I continue to go visit friends and play games with them.

I’m a home health nurse. Every time I visit residents here, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The building is clean and smells good. The residents love the food choices, as well as the activities. I would definitely recommend Esplanade Gardens.

Esplanade Gardens, is a beautiful Community, with beautiful people., Residents, Staff and Management. They work as a family.. there contracts are very clear and even when we as a family don't see the needs of our Love once, or understand the legal aspects of some circumstances. I feel they have the best interest at Heart.. Thank You Esplanade Gardens !! I highly recommend Esplanade Gardens, if you ever have the need for an Assisted Living..
