Nice curb appeal & inviting porch. Day #1 Mom called saying she had been pushing her call button 1-1/2 hrs. and no one showed up to help her. There is only 1 nurse on staff, which has caused problems for us. They have had problems receiving orders from both our medical providers. Be sure to schedule a lunch, as there are limited menu selections. Facility is currently unable to provide bus transport to those needing a wheelchair lift or unable to use stairs. No schedule has been provided for lift repair & bus is often in the shop. Aides are for the most part caring & kind. I have found the advertised 24/7 snack bar usually empty. No cameras are allowed despite 2 thefts from locked apartment. We received no orientation. Be sure to ask procedures before you leave your loved one.

We've been familiar w/ The Pines since it was built, our grandparents were residents. Now it has come time to place our mom and The Pines came to mind. From the first phone call 6-8 weeks ago until today, everyone has been great! Jamarcus Scott was our first interaction and he was/ is extremely welcoming and helpful from the first meeting. He is always available to answer questions, provide guidance and is always willing to provide a helping hand. Diane Gonzalez in the business office has also been extremely welcoming and helpful. She takes time to know the resident, as well as the family Both Diane and Jamarcus make time for a quick hi! It's a small thing, but if people are taking time to know the family, they are taking time with the resident. This was a tough decision to make for our mom, but have felt she is comfortable and safe from the first hour. She has activities to participate in including exercise, religious, games and music. Upon arriving 6/1/26 before lunch, the residents welcomed her and took her to dining room for lunch. To this day she has a table of ladies she sits w/ and interacts w/ throughput the day. It is very comforting to know she is not isolated in her room. As far as services provided, mom is overall pleased w/ meals. She is happy w/ the assistance she requires for ADLs. All services have exceeded expectations. I must comment on the cleanliness everytime I enter the facility and the friendliness of the receptionist. Overall this was a very hard decision to make, but given all of the positive qualities of The Pines we are happy w/ our decision. Denise Grigg-Nagy RN, BSN

The Pines on Carmel was a lifesaver for my dear friends, the Coooers. They needed to move from their home quickly and together. The Pines were there with 2 beds and had all they needed to make the transition a good one! They have a fantastic staff who care about their clients and help them make the very best of their new home! They were a true blessing to the Coopers, and they will not be forgotten by me for their kindness and willingness to make a happy home for them after leaving their only home of 47 years. We are forever appreciative!!

Our uncle is in the memory care unit and we could not be more satisfied. The staff are all wonderful and so good with the patients. We are quite pleased with the communication as well. Highly recommend.

The Pines is such an amazing place. I honestly can’t sing their praises enough. They are so kind, helpful, and responsive. They truly keep the resident at the center of everything they do. My mom is in memory care. The staff actively engage the residents and keep them active. I would choose the Pines over and over again for my mom.

I would definitely highly recommend here for memory care and assisted living. Having a parent with dementia can be very difficult and you want the best for them without making life complicated for them. This place is bright with smiling faces and such a wonderful staff that truly know what they are doing. It actually looks like my Mother in law is so much more lively and content here every time we visit her. Jamarcus and all the staff really go out of their way.

In my line of work, I’m in and out of many assisted living communities in the area. Pines on Carmel is a great community with amazing staff, wonderful therapy team, and a clean and bright community. Jamarcus, Diane, Latoya and all of the therapists there are always a pleasure to talk to and have an obvious heart for the community and the residents there. I would recommend this facility for anyone looking for a supportive community in this area.

My 97 year old mother is a resident at The Pines on Carmel. In the 2 years since we first arrived, I've become very familiar with the facility and the wonderful staff who go out of their way to go out of their way to greet and update me about Mom and her life among the relatively small group of residents there. I have witnessed am overwhelming sense of care and commitment to the comfort, safety, and welfare to all the residents there. I'm sure I could go on and on about the great medical care, nice amenities, entertainment and services offered by The Pines, but instead, I would simply like to relate what I feel sets them apart. The really care. Not a single day goes by without Mom saying to me, "They are so good to me here!" For me, that is priceless. Mom is physically well cared for at the Pines but, equally as important for me, she is truly loved! Thank you Samantha, Leah, Diane, and Ashley, and all the great staff there. Thanks fo creating a family atmosphere where Mom feels comfortable, safe, and most definitely...loved!

The staff truly goes above and beyond, and the level of care they provide is exceptional. My Mom is at The Pines on Carmel. We are so pleased with everything. The staff is great and there are activities for all different levels. My mom was living with me. I worked from home, so there wasn't much socializing with anyone her age. Now she has meals with her friends, chair excercise, getting her finger nails painted, physical therapy, different events in the TV room, birthday celebrations and so much more. There are activities going on all day. The center is large enough to meet plenty of people, but small enough so it has a family vibe. I can recommend The Pines on Carmel.

When my sister and brothers started looking for AL for our 94 year old mother , we had a list of 4 different places in Charlotte. My sister called them all, but Jamarcus Scott at The Pines on Carmel was the only person who could answer all our questions on the first call. We decided on The Pines and after 30 days are very pleased with all the care our mother is receiving. Samantha Glass and her team have guided us through moving our mother into her apartment and making sure she is comfortable and well taken care of The whole staff at The Pines is so friendly and helpful. We are pleased with our mother’s care.

My little lady friend is enjoying her time now at the Pines. The other residents and staff have been so warm and accommodating, making whole experience so pleasant. The move-in process was made easy by Jamarcus Scott. He took care of the details and helped out whenever possible, even moving in some furniture! The facility is so clean and well-maintained. It’s a pleasure to walk in and see my friend so happy!

I recently moved my dad into The Pines on Carmel from another assisted living facility out of town. The transition has been great for him and he loves his new home. In my opinion, the staff has been great and to hear the same response from my dad confirms we made the right decision on calling The Pines on Carmel his new home! When I first started looking into new facilities to place my dad, I particularly looked deeply into the staff and management at each facility. I felt something very different at The Pines on Carmel. I could not be happier and to see that he is happy makes me feel we made the right choice. I would highly recommend The Pines on Carmel to anyone looking for an assisted living facility that deeply cares about their residents and their families!

I have nothing but positive things to say about the Pines on Carmel. The staff, from Food Service to Resident Care to Maintenance, are all kind and caring. Leah (Health Services Director) and Ashley (Resident Experience Director) are great. Jamarcus Scott (Community Resource Director) goes above and beyond to help residents and families adjust to a new living environment.

We can not be happier with the exceptional care our mother has received at The Pines. The staff are engaged with the residents to assure they feel at home. They are personable and pleasant to work with. Communication with family members is excellent. Jamarcus (coolest guy you’ll ever meet!) made mom’s transition to assisted living a smooth process as a new resident. Shantae provides daily hands on care as if mom is her family member. She is kind and incredibly patient with the elderly. Activities are on going to allow residents to participate in fun hands on events on site and off. Activities director Ashley personally invites residents to keep them engaged. She’s super hands on with families and residents. The Nursing director Leah is on point with all care guidelines and assures your family member will have their needs managed. It’s obvious she understands the geriatric population. It’s a great feeling knowing mom lives where others care for her so well.

So happy The Pines will be the place mom now calls home! It's a difficult time for family to make this transition but the entire staff made it seamless! Jamarcus Scott guided me from day one of my first visit through every step of the way on move in day giving his full attention to every detail. He has been wonderful! Nurse Leah made mom and I feel safe about her care and all the residents were so welcoming and friendly helping mom adjust on day one. Mom is happy - so I'm happy! Looking forward to this new phase and knowing the full staff is there with is! Thank you!

Our grandfather was a resident @ The Pines. The staff treated him with such dignity and respect. When he was placed in a subpar rehabilitation facility by a case worker @ CMC, staff at The Pines worked tirelessly to help us get him moved back to their facility. The Pines is very clean. The staff is so loving. They even volunteered to accommodate his food preferences, which were off menu. Our family rested easy knowing our grandfather was well cared for. He considered The Pines "home".

The Pines are a Diamond in the Rough. The facility and grounds are kept in pristine condition. Amenities are great. Location is ideal. Most importantly, all of the staff are top notch. Friendly and happy to be there. They take care of my parents extremely well.

I moved my mother to the Pines On Carmel from another assisted-living facility, where she was not receiving the care that she needed. Everyone at the Pines treated my mother with dignity and respect and love. Her physical needs were met extremely well, and as those increased, the staff consistently took excellent care of her. Everything, from the admission process to her final days, was smooth and professionally handled. It was lovingly handled. At the end of my mom’s life, when Hospice was called in, the Pines worked with them, and gave our family privacy as needed. I have looked at many facilities in Charlotte in the last year and hands-down, the Pines is not only well staffed, but also so responsive to the resident and to the family.

I toured the Pines for my father who is 89 years old. I was very impressed with the cleanliness, and the staff was very friendly. Mrs. Henry, who is the resource director was an angel. She sat and listened, was very sympathetic and concerned, out of all the places I spoke with, she's the only one that returned my calls and every time I called, she answered. She was wonderful. I would recommend this place to anyone. Very good staff there.

There are some VERY good employees here that truly care about their residents. Diane is always available for families and residents, and the new Marketing Director is amazing! Every community has its challenges, but I definitely see consistent improvements at The Pines! Keep up the good work!

First of this is not the place these do not pay eneough to do the work we do in that place it’s ridiculous second this the food is not really good there and let’s get to the staff and they issues it’s ridiculous how they do people the big lady we’ll the lady that sit in the office claims she can’t come out the office cause she has allergies 😂 it’s ridiculous right we’ll your in the wrong field if you can’t help the caregivers out some times instead of having talking time in the office
