Don’t let the lovely surroundings fool you. My mother lived on the memory care unit and it was a great disappointment. There are not reliably regular activities.They residents are parked in front of the TV They are in rows so hey can’t even see one another. In the evening the staff gather in the resident dining room after the residents have eaten and been rushed out to the TV area so they can eat and entertain staff from other areas. I was visiting one evening when a resident in a wheelchair was shouting for help. As usual, no staff were with the residents. I went into the dining room to let them know a resident was calling for help. After asking twice, one woman came out and asked me who was asking for help. I showed her. She waved her hand and said “oh she’s ok. She doesn’t need anything”. I asked how she knew if she didn’t go over and check. Perhaps the resident was uncomfortable or afraid. She looked at me and went back into the dining room. Still no one with the residents. Another time I stayed over and my mom needed assistance. I went to look for one of the two staff on duty. I found one in the dining room, with the lights off and doors shut, lying on the floor sound asleep. I finally saw the other staff person when she came out of a dark office that did not have a window and was closed from view., rubbing her eyes. So there were no awake staff on duty, both having bedded down. This is a huge safety concern and pretty scary for a family member and the residents. When I was looking for staff that night there was an awake resident wandering around who wanted something, I couldn’t discern what. Thankfully the second staff member came out at just the moment the resident was staring to get a bit agitated and was able to help her.

We moved our mom in 2 months ago and it has gone so smoothly. Everything that was promised to us has been delivered on. We were concerned about how she would adjust as she had lived on her own for years and was starting to slip mentally but she has adapted quite well with lots of support from the people who work at Kaplan. She loves the people who work there, has made friends and is adjusting quite well. Antonio guided us through the process from application, references, moving logistics, etc. with warmth and understanding. Katie and Krista and others have been communicative with us and kind and caring with our mom. When we have reached out with questions or requests, they are answered in a timely manner. Have even gotten some "non-news" emails just to let us know all is well. We have peace of mind that our mom is in good hands.

My mother was introduced to Kaplan estates after a rehab stay and the neighboring Brudnick Center. These facilities are in the same complex, beautifully situated and work together very well. When it was time to consider AL, we met with Andrea Hillel, the director at Kaplan who was instrumental in choosing Kaplan for my mother. Andrea was knowledgeable, compassionate, and very prepared to help with every stage of transition and accommodation. The Kaplan experience was great for my mother, she was a long-term resident and truly enjoyed the community, the warm staff and support and especially liked the musical activities, travel and arts related workshops and presentations. I highly would recommend Kaplan Estates without reservation, for anyone considering assisted living for their family.

Our 96 year old mom received exceptional care at Kaplan! As her mobility and health was declining the staff increased the aid they provided and kept us informed of her condition. They provided warm and compassionate care. She was on a pureed diet due to health issues yet she told us that the food tasted great! She now needs skilled nursing care but we will always be grateful to the staff at Kaplan for helping her stay as individual as possible for as long as possible.

My Mom has been at Kaplan for 2 months and we can't say enough good things about it. Antonio was very helpful when we were looking for a place for my Mom. Since my Mom moved in, Eddie, Katie, and the rest of the staff have been terrific. The facility is clean and updated nicely and all the staff I have encountered have been friendly and helpful.

I am truly honored to provide review of Harriett and Ralph Kaplan Estates located in Peabody, MA, assisted living facilities. Our mom has been at Kaplan Estates, for 3 months now and I have always been impressed with the staff and quality of care, their positive attitude, and attention to our mother's needs. Their response to our family needs was and still is outstanding. What we appreciate the most is the fact that staff is so very dedicated and cares so much about each and everyone of the residents and their families. Many kind, hardworking and dedicated aids have my utmost respect and gratitude. Our mother is always treated with dignity and kindness by everyone. Kaplan is a vibrant place, providing numerous activities and events for residents which truly allows them a better quality of life (our mom enjoys fitness classes as well as trivia, and movie nights). Antonio Alvarez, Director of Community Relations in Peabody Campus, has been our guiding light through our mother's journey. His communication, professionalism, compassion for all the residents and their family is truly something so very special. Under his incredible leadership everything really came together and worked out for the best of our mom. My family and I would like to express our sincere gratitude to Antonio and all of the staff who took (and are still taking) such a good care of our loving mom.

We toured Kaplan estates for my 94 year old mother. Although we ultimately decided on a AL facility in better proximity to our community, I need to say I was humbled by the level of care we received in relation to determining if it were the right fit. The community has a reputation for established care. It's undergoing some beautiful esthetic updates, yet still is reasonably priced compared to other options on the North Shore. The on site (visiting) medical services are accessible. They have teams of social workers to support residents and their families, which rare service on site in other AL facilities. The residents we spoke to were happy with their care and loved the food. We are deeply appreciative of the care we received by Antonio Alvarez their Director of Community Relations who went above and beyond and showed the utmost care and professional to assure that we were happy with a difficult transition for our mother.

When I worked here some time ago, This place is beautiful and clean .. the staff were great and patients were clean and well cared for . I worked in the kirchen department so I saw many rooms while delivering food and picking up trays ... I saw nothing but happy patients and kind staff ... I would highly recommend this place to anyone ...
