My mother has been at Walking Horse for 4 years. After visiting several assisted living in the area, I knew this was the best place for my mother. She has had the best care there. They are the most loving and caring team members. I have come to consider everyone there family! During this Covid Pandemic they have strived to ensure the safety of ever resident and employee! Hero’s definitely work there. I would highly recommend Walking Horse Meadows as the best place for your loved one!

I am just blown away by this place! Incredible staff, people who genuinely love what they do and who they do it for. My mom has been there for about a month and I just love how they’ve changed her life for the better. I was dreading the moving process after researching many places and this was the first team to offer me real support and not just kind words and a price list. I am extremely grateful to everyone here that goes the extra mile to help make this a happy and healthy community for my mom and all their residents.

My Mother in Law moved into Walking Horse for the last seven months of her life. I can unequivocally say that she was loved and fussed over by the staff, exactly what you want for a loved one who needs any level of assistance. Hospice was well-networked in and had a team approach to her care with the Walking Horse staff. Chanel, the Director, sets an environment that is welcoming and wants the Residents to feel like they are home in a cozy and caring environment. Thank God we found this little gem of an Assisted Living Facility!

I am writing this review to express my thanks and appreciation for the amazing care and service that Walking Horse Meadows provided for both of my parents. They stayed at this facility for over two years, and I can honestly say that it was the best decision we ever made for their well-being and happiness. Walking Horse Meadows is not just an assisted living facility, it is a home. The staff are not just employees, they are family. They treat every resident with respect, kindness, and compassion. They go above and beyond to make sure that everyone feels comfortable, safe, and loved. They are always attentive, cheerful, and professional. They truly care about the residents and their families. The facility itself is beautiful, clean, and spacious. It has a cozy and inviting atmosphere, with plenty of amenities and activities for the residents to enjoy. There is a fitness center, a salon, and a dining hall that serves the best meals. The rooms are well-equipped, cozy, and personalized. The residents have their own privacy and independence, but also have the support and assistance they need. I cannot thank Walking Horse Meadows enough for the wonderful experience they gave to my parents and to me. They made their final years peaceful, comfortable, and joyful. They gave them dignity, respect, and love. They gave me peace of mind, knowing that my parents were in good hands. They are the best assisted living facility I have ever seen, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a place for their senior loved ones.

As an adult child of a resident of the Memory Care unit at Walking Horse Meadows in Clarksville, Tennessee, I will admit that this life transition my mother is in is difficult to watch. First, I have very high expectations, but honestly who doesn’t where your loved ones are concerned? The staff and leadership are all very kind, compassionate people and they truly care about the residents. Structure, detail, follow through are areas they desperately need to improve on. My mother had Alzheimer’s and was very high functioning, yet she really needed the daily assistance/structure and that’s why we made the difficult choice to move her there. When we got there, we discovered after some time that the daily activity schedule was essentially fake and not being executed. Thank goodness they hired a new activity director; she has been wonderful. Without this change we would have had to move my mother to another facility despite how difficult that would have been for her. My mother had a fair amount of other health challenges that really couldn’t effectively be handled by their nurse practitioner and LPN’s. We started taking my mother out to her own physicians and honestly, we had a heck of a time coordinating her care and medications with the Walking Horse team. This is an area that they need a great deal of improvement with. As my mother’s Alzheimer’s symptoms started to get a bit worse, she no longer was able to maintain her own grooming. This is where Walking Horse really fell apart despite many meetings with them to address these concerns. My mother would resist the help, this would result in her room not being cleaned as well as it should, her not being bathed regularly, not getting dressed, not participating in activities, etc. This really could have been addressed by training and coaching their staff on how to work with difficult residents and not giving them the option to opt out of the basics of daily living. Toward the end my mother’s other health issues really took a toll and she required more care. My wife and I both witnessed several occasions where the response to the call button was longer than it should be. We had to have a meeting to tell them to please keep her portable oxygen machine charged and assist with getting her switched between the portable and regular oxygen machines. Really basic things that we should not have had to tell them to do. Without much additional effort this place would really be top notch.
January 2021
An outstanding facility in every way. They are a compassionate group of professional caregivers who went out of their way to accommodate my ailing mother during the height of the COVID-19 crisis. A caring and dedicated staff who go out of their way to keep me informed as to my mother's health and well being. I highly recommend Walking Horse Meadows to anyone looking for senior living facility that really cares about it's residents!
January 2021
This has really been an unusual experience for me. First of all, I have never slept in a room by myself and that was hard to get used to. Eventually, I thought it was kind of nice. Second, I found that I didn’t have to worry about falling anymore. When I was at home I mixed up my medicine and would fall 3-4 times a week. I found that I had a really good friend, who worked at Montgomery Central K-12 and she cordially invited me to join her table during meals in the dining room. Strangely enough, there was a man at the table who really caught my eye. He had big blue eyes... VERY blue... Sky blue. Which was a change for me because both of my previous husbands had brown eyes. That’s the beginning of our love story. After 6 months during covid restrictions, we decided that we would get married. My son, Cayce is a minister and he performed the deed outside of the building with our family and watching us from a window. When I look at everything from where I am now and when I first arrived and was lonely and in a room by myself, I feel like God put us both here. Even though there are no walking horses I would still like to give our home here a five star rating!
