Overall, Addington Place is a nice community. The building is clean, the residents seem well cared for, and everyone I've interacted with has been friendly. The only downside is that it can be difficult to find staff when you need someone. There have been several times I've walked around looking for an employee before finally tracking someone down. Once you do find them, they're always helpful and kind”it just seems like they could use a few more people on the floor. Other than that, I've had good experiences here and would recommend it.

I am so thankful we found this community for my mom. The staff is always there for her. Brandon in the kitchen is always talking to the residents and always willing to help. Heather, Krystle and Taelor made the move in process so easy and made sure they were there to help support Mom and our family every step of the way. Activities are my mom's favorite and Shannon make them so much fun. The events that they throw for the families and residents are always amazing. Thank you to everyone at Addington Place.

I am so thankful for Addington Place. It is such a beautiful community with amazing staff. They cared for my Great Aunt for many years. She has since passed but she had made some of the most meaningful memories during her time there. Thank you for being such a wonderful part of her life.

What a wonderful building. The food is great and the employees went over and beyond the courtyard is so beautiful the fish are amazing. The resisent have a blast with the activities.

They were good for a few months. Then they were short handed in memory care 1 person on weekends didn't have time to care for all of them in there. Neglect, pressure sores and much more. They talk the talk but are different behind your back. Don't trust them. They also took money out for the last month my loved one was not there even when they are the ones that broke the contract. Watch out your loved one is not safe their. I don't want this to happen to anyone else's loved ones. They also tell you they do crafts back in memory care 6 months no activities and bad communications between staff and the workers. I trusted them boy was I wrong. I love addington place! They are filling with welcoming arms and warm hearts. The staff at Addington place are very attentive and I can tell each and every individual is very passionate about what they do. Friendly, understanding, caring and go above and beyond. When you’re free and need help stop by and see what they are about! They’re all simply amazing in my terms!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Extremely short staffed. Memory care patients are neglected. Residents are fed horrible food and KOOL AID as drinks. (Plenty of proof of above claims). My grandma was left to sit in soiled undergarments after a stomach bug to the point of sores on her bottom. Wrong medicine is being handed out and the staff claims they cannot take temperatures or blood pressures. Supposedly they do not have doctors on call either.... at a nursing home.... Staff is INCREDIBLY rude to residents and family. Yesterday my grandma was left in her room until 11am before my mom got there and went to find out why she hadnt been given breakfast, just to be told they were too short staffed and busy.... Hospice was involved and pushed to get my grandma moved ASAP. This place is absolutely appalling. Avoid at all costs

We toured the facility and was impressed. The Memory Units were very nice, each their own apartment. The staff were very helpful.

Everyone here is a great person and lovely to talk to. There willing to help with anything you need and are always open to listen. The events they have are all ways a blast and are great for my family that stays here. In all I would 100% recommend putting your family here if they need assistance living.

This is the most beautiful assistant living facility I’ve ever been to the staff are so friendly and nice and welcoming, if your looking for a place for mom I would definitely recommend this place!! The events that they throw are amazing and the turn outs are always outstanding! As soon as you walk through the front door it feels like home.

Welcomed our grandmother and allowed her extremely large family to celebrate her 93rd birthday there. It was enjoyed not only by her family but other residents were invited & seemed to enjoy it all.

We have had nothing but great experiences with Prairie Hills! We recently moved my father-in-law in and the whole process was so smooth. I can't thank Robin enough for always being available and understanding of our situation and working with us around our hectic schedule. The staff seems so friendly and caring. The building's interior and exterior is beautiful and kept very nice, the whole place has a very welcoming feel to it. I would definitely recommend Prairie Hills!

Thank you Prairie Hills for arranging and helping out with my dads 85th birthday party. My parents LOVE being residents there and the added attention to detail by preparations for the community room was so appreciative. His party was a huge success and he was happy to see family and friends there to help celebrate. There was plenty of room for celebration and the atmosphere was so pleasant and comforting. Prairie Hills is a wonderful place for my mom. They are so compassionate and caring and offer lots of fun activities. My mom was never one to participate in anything but she’s been to the weekly coffee club and enjoyed Christmas carols already. The staff truly strives to offer the residents improved quality of life. Moving Mom to Prairie Hills has been a real blessing and offered such relief to me and my family. I would recommend this assisted living facility to everyone.

Prairie Hills Des Moines is a beautiful building in a nice quiet neighborhood that is managed by one of the best management companies. It is located on the south side of Des Moines and has a lot of trees and the most beautiful courtyard around. The staff has longevity and welcomes all residents as family. Absolutely a 5 Star option!

I have been to Prairie Hills on multiple occasions. Once to meet with the marketing director for information about the retirement home and for a tour. I dropped in another time for their open house and met the executive team and of the staff. I have also been there for a guest speaker and interacted with some of the residents. The retirement community is clean, staff is friendly, and it seems very secure and safe for residents. They have had a few face lifts to the grounds since their new Director started and it shows! It's a hidden gem for anyone looking for a community of love to care for their family members, just on the south side of Des Moines. It's also reasonably priced!

When it came time to move my mother from her apartment to an assisted living facility, I began investigating what was available in the Des Moines area. After researching other facilities, we felt Prairie Hills was the best fit. The facility is very impressive as is the staff. My mother is always telling me how much she loves living there, how great the staff are and how good the food is. This brings great peace of mind for me as I know she is being well taken care of. Mom has been living there roughly five years and has no desire to move, she is 97 years old and wants to live out her days where she considers home. The best thing I can say is that this is where my wife and I want to live once we are unable to stay in our home.

Prairie Hills Senior Living is a wonderful facility with friendly, competent staff and a lovely environment. I know they had a complete change of management not long before we met them which may account for some of the disparaging comments left previously. My mom absolutely LOVES her apartment, everyone of her caregivers, the fabulous facility and Japanese garden, and the food. Everyone there has been good to her and helped her (and me) with her transition. Any problems or concerns have been courteously and quickly resolved. I highly recommend Prairie Hills Senior Living.
