Reviews St. Augustine Plantation
September 2025
I can't say enough good things about St. Augustine Plantation! My precious mom has been a resident there since March of this year (2025). Megan, the Executive Director, is outstanding and very quick to respond to our needs. She sets the tone for a caring, responsive community. The caregivers, nurses, front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, laundry, meal service and other staff are kind, attentive and respectful. They have a care plan for my mom and actually follow it! In addition, they provide lots of opportunities for fun and enrichment. St. Augustine Plantation has my eternal gratitude!
October 2024
I just want to publicly thank Megan, the Executive Director, for all the timely updates she shares with residents' family members, both during challenging times (like pending hurricanes!) and in general. My sister and I are so pleased with our decision to trust our mom's care to the staff at St. Augustine Plantation. It takes an entire team to make things go smoothly on "normal" days and, as importantly, to deal with unexpected and unwanted events that occur. We are very appreciative of each department and every individual who work together daily to provide a terrific experience for our mom and for us. We rest easier at night, knowing how well she's cared for. As my mom says to anyone out there who will listen, "You're very good at your job!"
May 2024
My sister, who is a resident there, said the collard/turnip greens she had last week were "as good as mama's". That is high praise indeed coming from a southern gal.

Where does one start to thank you for the care that you gave Roy? There is truly nothing that we could possibly say or do that would equal what you did for him. The decision to move him from our home to yours was hard on our family. You realized this and made the transition for not only Roy, but our family, very easy. The moment we walked in with him, you took him under your wing and cared for him as if he were your own father. As a result, he settled into Saint Augustine Plantation life far easier than we ever could have ever hoped for. I want you to know that we never had a single moment where we thought he was not being cared for properly. You have an exceptional team of people that really care about the loved ones that family members have put in your care. During the time that Roy was there, I saw your team give the same caring and loving treatment to all of your residents. We were always informed of any concerns that you may have had, and you worked with the family to address these. Routinely, your team went above and beyond for Roy, depending on his needs at the time. When he wouldn't eat, the chef would make him a special dinner that would entice him to eat. You quickly learned that he wanted two glasses of water and tea, with extra ice. His room was always spotless! His clothes were always clean and kept him clean as well. You anticipated his needs and kept him happy and comfortable. All of the caregivers are amazing people who have been given a special gift to care for those who can no longer care for themselves. You are strong and loving at the same time. I pray that each of you are blessed by your gift and know that you are appreciated. Sincerely, Family of Roy Starke

St Augustine Plantation has been wonderful as my mom moved from Assisted Living to Memory Care a few months ago. The director Emily has gone above and beyond in helping mom through Feb covid and several new challenges. She really cares about mom and everyone. She spoils her and us too by sending us photos and even FaceTime with mom! She plans many fun activities for them as well. We got daily updates from the staff during the recent covid also, very reassuring. Asya is very helpful, experienced, and caring and Tammy also spoils mom and loves her. Med tech Jay and also Emma and Lorenzo are so helpful. I can't name everyone in this review, but the team has helped us adapt and learn how to respond to mom when new challenges occur. We feel comfortable knowing she is in caring hands.

My mother was only at St. Augustine Plantation for one year but the care was always exceptional. From the staff that cleaned her room to the medication deliverers to the dining room workers, they all treated my mother with care and respect.

Almost a year ago, I did the most difficult thing of my life in placing my mom, my best friend, in someone else's care. It had come to the point that I could not assure her safety without help and took the steps to explore my options. The Team at St. Augustine Plantation Memory Care helped me at every step of the way. During my several conversations with Nicole Jermyn and while doing my tour I was introduced to Dominique Stafford who I did not know at the time would be my savior during this process. From the day that I brought my mom in to leave her at memory care without her knowledge of what was going on, Dominique was there. She took mom for a tour and I had to make a decision. It was suggested that I leave without trying to explain or reason with my mom as this would be easier on her. I could not fathom just leaving her but agreed that it may be less traumatic for her. I on the other hand, instead of being relieved was traumatized. Dominique, Megan Griffin and Nicole all reached out to me during the 7 days that I did not visit with updates and even texted photos to show that mom was ok. Maybe not happy and a bit confused but ok and safe nevertheless. During the last year, many things have changed for mom and I and her disease has progressed. I have met many wonderful people who have been there for me and for mom. I cannot imagine how hard it must be to care for someone else's loved one and try to do it as they were your own family but I feel that most everyone I have come in contact attempts to do just that. I have texted and called Dominique more than my share of times for updates, assistance and just to check on mom and have never been met with anything but care and compassion. She has gone above and beyond several times for myself and for mom to try and make this impossible situation less difficult and it has certainly made a difference. I think of her as my friend now. I can sleep at night knowing that mom is not only safe but cared for. I am in a local Alzheimers support group and have heard horror stories of poor treatment or no responses to concerns and I have luckily not experienced this. Dominique does not do it on her own but she is my trusted go to. I have met several special people who I would like to mention by name. BJ, Tammy, MJ, Robin, Erica, Krista, Kenya, Tye, Reisha, Jai and several others that I am sorry I cannot remember names for at this time. I am fully aware that this is a field that has incredible rates of turnover but most of these people have stuck it out and I want to acknowledge them. Without Dominique and the SAP Team, I don't think I could have survived this last year and am eternally grateful and pray every night that those who care for my mom are blessed. I have asked on several occasions for Dominque to promise she will not leave me or mom. This Team in my opinion are so worthy and deserving of acknowledgement if not through raises, at least a wonderful break-room makeover. If any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Terry Hall with loved one Helen Hall in the facility.

The entire staff at St. Augustine Plantation deserves a shout out! They are all extremely helpful and responsive, which is worth gold. I'd like give to Asya, head of the medical staff, an individual shout out. She has made the transition for my Dad to a new doctor a breeze and is always there to help with a smile. My thanks and gratitude goes to each member of the staff - you are amazing!!

If you are able to accept unacceptable behavior from some of the staff, then you will survive in this institution. We are low on options unfortunately and from what we hear, the grass is not greener elsewhere. All the ALF's suffer staffing issues. We check on our loved one daily. I would not leave a loved one unchecked for very long. We are working hard to make the best of this situation and are continuing to pray for everyone involved.

I am currently a resident of this beautiful, caring, clean, comfortable facility. I am here because I needed a safe environment to heal from a fracture. My fracture required no weight bearing for ten weeks. I would not be safe at home while recovering from my injury. The facility has provided excellent care in a nurturing, safe environment with plenty of opportunities for social interaction, meal and laundry services, TV and internet access.I find the staff compassionate and attentive to each resident's specific needs. The residents represent a variety of backgrounds, functional level and involvement in activities.I experienced how they handled two specific critical situations. One day the weather alarms of several residents warned of a tornado warning. The residents were instructed to move to the hallways away from windows. The staff including senior staff and adminitrator came around making sure everyone was accounted for and reassure them they were safe. The second situation involved a resident who owns a dog. The resident was admitted to the hospital. Staff members took care of the pet until the resident came back.I am glad to be able to go home tomorrow to complete my rehabilitation now that I can bear weight on my fractured leg.I have recommended the facility to a friend whose mom will soon need this level of care.I will return when the time comes for me to require these services.Thank you from the bottom of my heart for turning a very difficult situation into an adventure into the future.

We had a great visit. Lunch was delicious. We have a family member who needs more care than we can provide at home. So we are looking at options.

I just returned from my first visit to St. Augustine Plantation and I was impressed from the moment I walked in the door. If you or your loved one is looking for a senior living community that truly is a home away from home. You do not need to look further than St. Augustine Plantation. If you want to meet and learn about southern hospitality, please ask for 20 year veteran Executive Director Megan Griffin or her Sales Director Nicole Jermyn. Either one of these senior living professionals would be happy to show you around the community and introduce you to the great assisted living and memory support services St. Augustine Plantation provides. Don't wait, reach out today because community vacancies do not last long. Beautiful community!

St. Augustine Plantation made a very hard and dark time in our lives a lot brighter. They took excellent care of our mother for the last six weeks of her life and were so accomadating and helpful. They worked with us every step of the way, and we cannot express how much we appreciate all the great work the administration, nurses and aides put in. Thank you for being there for us.

After being between a rock and hard place, making tough decisions and trying to get it right: The guidance, information and advice form Nicole and the team at St Augustine Plantation was invaluable. Nicole provided the experience and insight that helped us understand the options, challenges and opportunities for the best short term and long term care we were looking for, for a friend in need. Competent compassion goes a long way. I recommend St Augustine and cannot thank them enough for their support.

We love St. Augustine Plantation! The front porch and the warm homelike environment was perfect for my loved one. Megan and Crystal are incredible. We would be lost without them.
October 2020
My Dad has been living at SAP since December of 2017 and I am very pleased with his care. I particularly want to give extra kudos to Dave and Austin both nurses that have gone out of their way during this pandemic to aide me in making sure my Dad is receiving the attention and care he needs. Maria and the custodial staff need to be recognized as well. I highly recommend SAP for their assisted living facility. Oh, and Thursday Omelette Breakfast cant be beat. I have eaten in their dining room...excellent taste and portion sized. Thank you to all for going above the call of duty during these unpresident times.
October 2020
Living here for what it serves us okay, its hard leaving home, I wouldnt live anywhere but home if I didnt need to. But I need to. Most of the staff are good, I dont have complaints most days. We get along fine. Were very bored with the virus going on, its created its own problems. I understand that. I dont want to go nowhere.
October 2020
So grateful to the dedicated staff at St. Augustine Plantation for taking such tender, constant and excellent care of mom during the COVID shutdown. It has been so difficult to not see her, except on a screen, but they have bent over backwards to keep us connected. And on our video monitor, I can see how gentle, patient and nurturing the staff is with her. So glad to have the help of SAP in this terribly challenging time.
October 2020
The community has long tenured associates who truly care about the residents and staff. Tniyah, Crystal and Megan are helpful, caring and responsive. They consider this community their own. Thank you for all you do.
October 2020
Lakeshia Corbett, a caregiver in the Memory Care unit, is a true example of the kind of person families want to be with their loved one. She not only cares for the residents, she cares ABOUT her residents. During the lockdown she would text me when she worked to ask if there was anything special she needed to do for my husband. Need more Lakeshias.
October 2020
My mother-in-law has been at St. Augustine Plantation for a little over 5 years. I have seen how pleased my wife is with the care given to her mother. All of the staff at SAP is extraordinary, especially during these difficult times dealing with the pandemic, but she has highlighted these special persons for recognition: Kelsey Saunders, who handles transportation for medial appointments and so much more. His kindness in dealing with persons with cognitive problems is so touching; Crystal Brown, the head nurse of the wonderful nursing staff, always available to deal with whatever needs to be dealt with; Tamarion Lindsey, a medical technician, who stays on top of all prescriptions; and Samantha Campbell, on the nursing staff, whose gentle compassion is always appreciated. By naming these four, so many others are being left out, but please know we appreciate all of your efforts.

I would like to take a moment and applaud the leadership team at St. Augustine Plantation. The entire team strives for excellence and deeply cares for the residents. The longevity and tenure of this team is to be recognized. The leaders work alongside of the team and represent a true feeling of family. I would like to highlight Megan, Crystal and TNiyah for their ongoing awesomeness!

My husband has been at St Augustine Plantation for almost 7 months, and I think the staff has done an awesome job of making the best of the very difficult situation caused by the COVID-19. They do their best to keep life as interesting as possible for the residents, and they clearly care a lot for the people there. Ive also really appreciated the updates about whats going on.

Its been great working at St. Augustine Plantation. Even during a pandemic, I look forward to going to work. The building is beautiful, the staff are caring and I actually eat the food! (Im a very picky eater.) Im thankful I found a place like SAP.
September 2020
Boy there are quite a few things that I think are nice. The care & cleanliness is extra ordinary. Whoever is in charge of planning meals, collecting ingredients, cooking, and serving them is a wizard. The meals are nicely varied.
September 2020
Thank you for the outstanding plans and work to provide all the necessary service, safety and comfort to the residents in this organization. At first it seemed confusing and unfair to suddenly set demands upon us, the residents and the staff. We were not prepared for this rapid spread of the covid-19 without it. Thank you staff; you all are heroes. Your cooperation is well acknowledged and appreciated. This virus has created a very difficult time for all of just. Just hold on and be careful. Follow safe advice. We must do our part and hope for blessings from above. Thank you God.
