We are so grateful for Atria Mt. Pleasant. We started touring senior living residences a couple of years ago for my husband's mother. Atria was our number one choice in the Charleston area. My mother-in-law (MIL) was never really ready to make the move from her home to senior living. Allison and the Atria staff worked patiently with our family in preparation for a possible move. Although the decision was extremely difficult, my MIL did agree to give Atria a chance. Her move, transition and adjustment was more than challenging for all of us. Everyone at Atria, residents and staff, were there to provide encouragement and support from day one. It took a few weeks or more to navigate her new world. Fast forward to now, (10 months later) she loves her new life. When asked about staying she answers, " why would I want to leave?" My MIL is physically, mentally and emotionally more healthy than ever! She loves Tai Chai, art/crafts, Bible Study and being with so many people who share her age and interests. She now will often meet with new and potential residents to offer her experience. We hear she shares that "my kids made me move here" and then adds that she "loves it". She expresses her gratitude to us for helping her make this needed change. She says she could not have done this without us. Well, not sure any of us could have done this so successfully without the assistance and services provided by Atria's staff and residents. It is with gratitude and pleasure that we recommend Atria Mt. Pleasant as a senior living residence.

The Director of Life Guidance, Selina Turner, and her caring Team, work diligently everyday in overseeing the health, safety, and welfare of their residents. I entrust them implicitly with my mother's care. My mom has lived there a full year now and continues to be happy. Whenever an issue of concern does occur, Selina responds to me in a timely manner. She reaches out to the appropriate Atria team member whether it be a med tech, maintenance person, or housekeeping (depending on the issue) and the matter is taken care of right away. Our Mom lived at Atria Mount Pleasant for two years, prior to her passing. Her experience at Atria in Mount Pleasant was fantastic. Every person that she met, she would rave about the staff, the food, the cleanliness of the facility, and the great recreational trips they took. The arts and crafts were her favorite. Every day, Bingo was a must to play and interact with other residents!! The facility is impeccable. The staff is very responsive and very in tune with their residents and the families that care for them. Moving her into Atria, was daunting for me as her daughter, but the reality was it was the best decision for her and me. We moved Mom from Pittsburgh when my dad passed to Atria Mount pleasant. Mom loved it so much living there…I feel that her living at Atria Mount Pleasant gave her extra years to her long beautiful life of 94 years.

Atria has been a light after the devastation my family went through just six months ago when my father passed away unexpectedly. My sister and I needed to move my mom to Charleston from Indiana immediately, as my father was her primary care giver and she needed to be close to family. Even though this has been the toughest six months of our lives, we have had many positives and blessings, and Atria and their staff are one of them. I highly recommend Atria; we are grateful to have found this amazing community.

We looked at all the assisted living in the area and Atria is the best. Many of the newer assisted living communities say they are assisted and independent but we found that not to be true. They are geared towards independent living not assisted. Atria however, was much more willing to work with my daughter in law's mother, who has MS and can't walk. They treated our family with respect and compassion, not just a financial transaction like other places and the community has the best amenities on top of it!! They have an indoor pool which is fantastic for people with MS

I have been at Atria for almost three years. The joy that the residents have brought me has been absolutely unbelievable. I think of all of the residents as my grandparents. We have built such an amazing team who are positive and who are committed to caring and loving on our residents. We have some very seasoned care staff on our team and The team we now have has really come together as a family and it is exciting to see! Our food at Atria is amazing! Our culinary Team is incredible. Stop by the bistro and meet Chef Jamal! If you Go to the dining room ask our restaurant manager Mari (who is the such a sweet spirit) to meet one of our incredible cooks! Also, Check out our culinary directors instagram page @johnnydoesfood. We offer a top tier dining program for our independent, assisted living, and memory care residents! Atria offers cleaning services once a week. The housekeepers we have come with over 15 years of experience. They are committed to giving the best experience! Haley our activities Director is an absolute gem. The team really comes together to bring her vision to life for the residents. When you attend an atria event expect to dress up and really get into character! We have Fox therapy and McLeod home health in house for your convenience! Chuck our Director is a ray of sunshine. I am the Maintenance Director at Atria Mount Pleasant (recently promoted to Regional Maintenance Director). I have been working at this community since before it opened. After nearly 20 years working in senior living, this is by far the best community I’ve been in charge of maintaining. It has been the highlight of my career to watch this community grow and to get the opportunity to serve all of our great residents! Atria takes customer satisfaction very seriously, in fact, there is an entire division devoted to quality enhancement. There are numerous systems and protocols in place to ensure that all departments are providing exceptional service to our residents. We take all of our residents’ concerns very seriously and work to address them as quickly as possible. Personally, I take a lot of pride in helping provide our residents with a safe, clean, and well maintained home, and my entire team does as well. Chuck and Allison make a great team and they love our residents and are always there to help.

I love my new home. I previously lived in by myself after losing my significant other of over 30 years. I have made so many friends. Haley the activities directors, Lynne, and Amy keep me very busy. I just adore them. I enjoy the events they out together. Bob is the bus driver but he helps out in so many ways and is so very accommodating. The directors Chuck and Allison have been great in helping me get settled. They are both really sweet. The food is really good. I like that I get a balanced meal now. Holly and Nori have been very patient with me, I ask them a great deal of questions and they are great at directing me to the right person.

We moved a family member here a little over a year ago. The facility is beautiful but this place was definitely a victim of Covid. There were issues with the builder and general contractor that caused delays in this place being open and lots of repairs that had to be made to correct mistakes made by the contractors - flooding being one of them. The high turn over with the staff has been frustrating, especially in the dining room. I think they are on their third director now. There are things that could be done to help people that want to age in place, like putting handrails in the hallways. I feel like things are beginning to improve and we want this place to succeed. We do not want to move our family member again. We are pleased with several of the really friendly staff members that have gone out of their way to fix things and make this place more like a home. There is a great chef there now. Eddie, the guy fixing all the maintenance issues should be given a huge raise! We love him. We look forward to seeing this place thrive and are hopeful that Atria Mt. Pleasant will continue to overcome these obstacles and become a good place to call home for many people and a good place to work.

I have been very disappointed in the Atria. We did a lot of research before encouraging my family members to move to an independent retirement community. The Atria was under construction when we decided it was the place my relatives should move to when it was completed. However, when they were allowed to move in, it was not move in ready. I have worked with the construction industry for years and I was shocked at the poor construction and errors that were made, and still have not been corrected. It seems like more attention was given to make the place attractive (which it is) at the expense of neglecting some obvious things that should be standard in a retirement community. It is really inexcusable. While many of the staff are great, the management has been bad. The Atria needs to hire a friendly, fun director who is a good leader and manager. I know the virus has complicated things but there seems to be a serious lack of training especially when it comes to the dining staff. My understanding is a new chef has been hired so hopefully the food will improve because at times it hasn't even been edible. The dining wait staff are young and inexperienced and just need some training. Please, please fix things because we don't want to have to move our family members again, but it has crossed our minds.

After six months moving out. Totally disappointed even though I had high hopes for Atria. Food is frozen and reheated and most times is lukewarm and I have to return it to be reheated. The menu is repetitious with pork, meatloaf, frequently. No fresh shrimp or fish and the ocean right next door. Good staff has left and wait staff untrained not knowing a fried egg and scrambled eggs two different animals. Breakfast today paper towels instead of napkins. The poor food has nothing to do with the pandemic and I am paying for activities and there are none since staff has quit. Go to Indeed Atria website and see how many jobs are available. Not allowed to have family visit me, very depressing...a prison. Lots of money spent for nothing and no one from corporate has talked to us. Even disbanded the residents' council.

GREAT PLACE TO WORK!!!! Just finishing up my first week and am loving it!! Management staff is friendly and open to communications...its like having a family at work! I have already received a welcome packet with a card signed by the whole staff AND a box of chocolates and a card for Valentines Day. This company TRULY cares about their employees and understands that employees will do more than is expected of them in an environment where they are valued.
