My mom has lived in the Veraden Memory care for almost two years now and I'm so thankful we made the decision we did. She is very well taken care of by the staff and it has been a safe and well taken care of place since we moved her in. Any concerns I've ever had are always addressed and the staff is constantly doing their best to make each season of my mom's condition more comfortable for her. Brook, who is the director of sales (but also does so many other wonderful things) welcomed us day 1 and has since gotten to know our family and my mom very well. She genuinaly cares for all her residants and their family's. She checks in on my mom and is always asking how she can help make this time in our lives better. I just appreciate the time she and the other directors take to ensure my mom is comfortable and taken the very best care of. You don't see that at other facilities. Extremely grateful.

My parents did not enjoy living there. They did not take advantage of the amenities, and they did not like the food. They were in the independent living community. As they are now suffering from some dementia, I took it upon myself to oversee the move out and all that goes along with vacating a rental. Brooke told us we have to give 60 day notice. So we did, however, I later reviewed the lease, and it states a 30 day notice is required. In addition, Brooke called on 1/22/26 and left a voice mail informing me that she had someone who wanted to move in on 1/31/26. She knew we still had belongings in the unit, because our move out date was supposed to be by 2/15/26. She asked how quickly we could get the remainder of their belongings out, and we told her we could be out as soon as 1/26/26 if that would be sufficient. She said yes, and do not worry about cleaning, we will waive the cleaning fee, we just need to be able to get access as soon as possible. We completed the move on 1/26 and turned in the keys and notified Brooke when we had done so. They are now trying to charge us rent through the 31st of January, even though we were asked to vacate early. They also want to charge us for full carpet replacement because my 87 year old mother spilt coffee. We did not attempt to clean it as we were told just get the belongings and they would handle the rest. And the carpet was not new when they moved in and appeared to be maybe 5-6 yrs old. EDIT: We still have not received a proper statement from them regarding what they claim we owe. We received an email on the 16th of March, stating we owe for 1/2 the carpet, which the amount does not reflect the 1/2 price of carpet replacement that they stated in another email. And does not reimburse for the rent from the date they were asked to vacate early so that a new occupant could move in. Then, 2 days later, they decide to add a $45 late fee. We have repeatedly called and emailed requesting an itemized statement reflecting what they believe we owe. However, they most recent email says there is an attachment, but there is not.

First of all, the facility is beautiful and so welcoming. I can’t say enough about the staff at The Veraden. They have gone above and beyond with my mom’s difficult transition to memory care and now with welcoming my dad into senior living. I appreciate all the advice and support they have given as we struggle to navigate this horrible disease with my mom. I love that they know each and every resident throughout the community. Every time we visited, as we walked thru the facility the staff would call out each resident we encountered by name. You can tell they are invested in the success of the community from the activities to the food and even the individualization of care given to the residents. I have no doubt my parents will be well cared for. So thankful we found this community for my parents as they age in their golden years. Definitely worth checking into if you are looking for independent, assisted or memory care living.

Communication is awful. House dr doesn't care. They just don't seem to care about the residents or take pride in their job. They have days they don't record meds. The food is good. When we were singing my dad up they made it sound amazing & its a beautiful place but... if your loved one has dementia, they expect them to remember singing up for events. The staff seems annoyed or like its a chore to do anything. No pride no care!

I am writing this review because I know how difficult it can be to make the decision where your loved one should live. My family toured extensively looking for a memory care facility for my grandma and ended up choosing Veraden because the residents seemed the most happy (even though it was not the closest or the most budget friendly). What a blessing this place has been! My grandma is thriving here. Almost daily we see photos of her taking part in enriching activities. She has made friends despite her advanced dementia. We visit her daily and every time she looks lovely and content, dressed with her hair and nails done. Even though she doesn’t know where she lives she always tells me how blessed she is to be there. It is evident that Phil, LJ, and the team of caregivers really love their job and go above and beyond for the seniors. Our family is so thankful for this place and the safe and happy environment that it has provided for my amazing grandma!

My dad has been at the Veraden for 1 year. Overall it has been blessing. The staff has been amazing as we have worked through mental and physical issues with him. The Veraden’s dedication to quality life for all its residents is admirable. I appreciate all the staff doing their jobs well. The atmosphere at the Veraden is open, relaxed and positive. My dad is able to be himself and feel very independent although he has restrictions that are in place for his safety and well being. I highly recommend the Veraden as an assisted living facility. If I could give this place over 5 stars I would. My family and I are so grateful for the compassion and care poured out to us over the past week by this place and the people! We have been thrown in a pickle since dad had a stroke, and we lost mom and wow these people really care. My Mom loves living here as it has a very modern look and feel. She considered multiple other assisted living facilities prior to the Veraden and the Veraden stood out above all others. While labor shortages are affecting all industries, I think that is the only area that needs improvement but I know finding good help nowadays is very difficult. Overall, my mother enjoys living here and the staff that attends to her needs.

I am the daughter of a resident. I have been very impressed with the care my dad has received. Although he is depressed about the recent loss of his wife of 62 years, the Veraden has been a great support to keep him engaged in life. There are lots of opportunities for him to interact with others. The Veraden does a good job of keeping track of him while allowing him to be independent. He absolutely loves the food and the dining experience. His room is the perfect size for him. I highly recommend the Veraden.

Mom has been at Veraden for about 2 years now. We saw it coming on for a couple of years, and Veraden Edmond was one of the places we were considering. When the time came for mom needing memory care, we were so fortunate a room was available. The facilities were nice and well maintained. One of the features that attracted us was the outdoor courtyard area available to the residents. It is exclusive for the memory residents. In the spring and summer it is a comfortable area for mom to sit or walk, while being safe and secure. The care and concern shown for mom by the aides and managers is comforting. There's nothing easy about Alzeimers, but having a nice home for mom at Veraden made the transition much easier. There are new faces periodically among the workers, but almost anywhere in the facility as we are walking the halls, the workers know mom by name. The workers make an effort to encourage mom to participate in activities, because I believe they care about her. Veraden has been an answer to prayers during this challenging journey. I believe the memory administrator sets a high bar of service, and is able to balance a healthy sense of humor with care for "our people". I recommend Veraden of Edmond.

This was written in early Sept., 2019 I have been an IL (Independent Living) resident since the facility opened in January 2017. The decorating is especially impressive. The IL Dining room makes the place. The IL activities director, Ryan Dixon, is full of energy and provides many activities. Some residents organize their own activities. The driver, (Warren Gately) for the courtesy car for those who don’t drive is excellent. By far the biggest, and for many IL residents the only, problem is with food and food service. No one is starving go death, but there is unhappiness. If you arrive at the end of dinnertime you may find the featured item is no longer available. Occasionally they are simply out of something they should NEVER be out of. Happily many items are still available. Normal accoutrements need to be requested and are often forgotten. Experienced residents learn, over time, what is prepared to their liking and what is not. Food service time routinely can be up to an hour in IL. Residents should learn to not all show up at the same time, but that isn’t going to happen. The servers vary from excellent to the opposite. If the dining room were a restaurant, it is unlikely you would ever return. But then, who would go to any senior living facility specifically to eat! It is a great opportunity to show your sense of humor and enjoy your new friends! There is a lesser problem which bothers only some of us, and that is with the way information is conveyed (or not conveyed) to and among IL residents. The grapevine is active, but not all residents are in the vineyard, and the information gets distorted as it spreads. A bulletin board for use by residents was requested but it became a bulletin board for management, and it is located in a hall where few routinely go. Residents are allowed to post there, if approved by management, but that just doesn’t happen. Neither the food nor the information shortcomings are reasons for not joining us. Just be prepared for things being the way they are. Would they be any different somewhere else? It is a great place to be, for the price.

My Mother has lived at The Veraden for the past year. It is a very nice facility. The staff is excellent and very caring. They offer many activities throughout the day that she truly enjoys. The residents are able to be part of committees to help improve life at The Veraden. I love this feature, but it has not improved the problem of the meals in the dining hall. She has been the head of the culinary committee for a year and hasn't seen much improvement. We really do love The Veraden, but the biggest complaint we have and continue to hear from other residents is the food. This facility could easily be a 5 star facility if the Administration would listen to the residents and improve the meals.

Our mother moved into the Veraden in January of 2017, following the grand opening. The facility is beautiful, but what makes it especially valuable are the people. Ryan Dixson does a fabulous job working to build a sense of "family" among the residents. His enthusiasm, involvement and care for the residents in IL is amazing. At 99, my mother is pretty amazing, but Ryan makes it not only feel like "home", but also generates fun in every activity. Ryan Dixson is a tremendous asset for The Veraden in Edmond

I am so impressed with this community. The staff really care! The nurses are genuinely passionate and love not only their residents but their care staff. I was able to tour this amazing community, I was looking for a future placement for my parents. I will definitely choose the Veraden when and if that time comes. I will say that during my tour the lady that toured me Mary was so personable. She really cares. She sat down and answered any and all my questions. If Mary didn’t know she quickly got on the phone to call the nurses and I was really impressed with how enthusiastic the nurses were to assist. This team is amazing and very close. I without a doubt know that my parents would be right at home! If you are ready to feel right at home and know that your loved ones are cared for then please choose the Veraden, best decision you’ll ever make!

They do have turn over but that is very common with any facility and is an unfortunate side of healthcare. The staff great each resident by name and with a smile. They are always ready to assist each person with their needs. I have seen multiple facilities and place the Veraden in a high spot of recommended places. If you are looking for a facility that individualizes care, shows compassion, and truly values their residents, look no further. The Veraden is the place to stay!!

(It's unfortunate that the negative reviews appear first... ) I can't say enough good things about this assisted-living. Our family has done due-diligence on many metro-area facilities over the last 4 yrs -- for my mother-in-law who has since passed-- and found that none are perfect, of course. But now that we're able to compare, since both my parents are at Veraden, I can say with conviction: this place has no equal. The staff is unsurpassed in compassion, enthusiasm, competence, professionalism and attention to detail. The facility is TOP NOTCH as well. I will concur that the dining issue of "understaffed" is valid, but we've seen this in all facilities. It has to be difficult to retain quality wait-staff who are patient, capable and self-motivated enough to work without tips. What impresses our family, though, is that when there's a glitch in the schedule (waiters/waitresses/concierges call in sick, etc,) the existing staff steps up to the plate, and they're even CHEERFUL about it! The food is excellent, the portions are sensible and adequate, and although it's not McDonalds with regard to speed of delivery, we have found it to be within a reasonable time frame. My parents are happy (and THAT is no small feat,) and our extended family who's visited thinks Veraden is GREAT.

My parents live in the independent living area of the Veraden and living in Texas, I am able to visit them about once a month. They were some of the first residents to move in to the facility and they have lived through all of the problems you'd expect when a new facility is just starting out. I thought by now that all of the kinks would be worked out since it's been open for 10 months, but that is not the case. Even though the residents have let their dissatisfaction be known concerning the meal service, big problems still exist. Tonight we arrived in the dining room at 5PM and were not approached by a server until 5:35 and then only after I went into the kitchen to let them know how long we'd been waiting. The serving area is woefully understaffed. The servers are trying their hardest to keep the residents happy and I do not blame the servers for the problems, but whatever corporate culture exists that thinks that 1 or 2 servers can get meals out for 30+ diners in a timely manner. There were 6 of us dining together. Three of us got our meals 10 minutes before the other 3. I know the residents have complained about the service, and the management pays lips service to their complaints, but nothing seems to change. My parents will not even go down for breakfast because the food is usually cold and served buffet style even though brochures claimed there would be two restaurant style meals per day. Needless to say, we are disappointed in the facility, especially considering the monthly expense.

The staff here after a few days of being there seemed to do a complete turn around, where they were nice and welcoming before, they seemed to become rude and no longer caring about how you felt. I'm glad I am leaving the facility because they are two faced, especially when they "went out of their way to make me feel welcome" it is about the same kind of place I have always been at, and I felt very targeted by their corporate when everyone else was on their phones, and talking on their phones, CNA's and CMA's alike.

Friendly and motivated staff and security and comfort abounds. But food quality & parking need serious improvement. Why serve HIGH SODIUM dishes and soups to residents who need the opposite? There are salt shakers available on the tables if the dishes are not adequately salted. Parking needs some serious adjustments. The spaces are too distant from the entrance. More disabled parking spaces are needed. Some of those handicapped spaces should be reserved for residents. And additional general parking spaces should be added. If addressed, these concerns will likely require expansion of the property before construction. Fixing the food and parking issues will earn this otherwise fine Edmond facility five stars.
