From our very first visit with Elaine Essary, to all of the friendly and caring staff; from the roomy and updated apartments, to the perfect location and active social calendar, my mom loves it here! In her 82 years she has never lived alone and was anxious about that — yet she was comfortable here from day one, which also gave me (her daughter) tremendous peace of mind. My husband and I live in the Seasons, so it's only a five minute drive door-to-door. It has been 3 months since my mother moved into her independent living apartment, and I have zero complaints, only positive things to say about Crown Point Christian Village. The rehab department is also wonderful. The physical therapy staff has helped my mom to successfully overcome knee surgery. She recently "graduated" from rehab (they would pick her up at her room daily) and is doing great. I feel confident, at ease, and comfortable with my mother living here. We definitely made the right choice. Highly recommend this wonderful community!

My dad is residing in Assisted Living and we are very happy with Crown Point Christian Village. We first met with Elaine and she guided us through the process with care, and we felt very well informed. It was clear from the start that this is a warm and welcome place. The entire staff, from the front reception desk to the caregivers and nurses, are very attentive and compassionate. They truly care about the residents. I can honestly say we leave out visits with peace of mind knowing our dad is in good hands.

When my 90+ year old Mom and Dad were ready for assisted living in November of 2023, it was more than my Sister and I could provide. I researched and even visited many of the assisted living facilities in NW Indiana and found that Crown Point Christian Village met my parents needs more than any other could provide. We first met with Elaine Essary, the Senior Living advisor and the head RN, who were detailed, caring and knowledgeable about Senior care and the Christian Village facility. Since then I have met many of the staff and have visited during meal time, on laundry and housekeeping days and have seen that the staff does indeed care for my Mom and Dad like family. After not being able to give my mom, the care she needed at our house, we brought her to Crownpoint Christian in Village in May 2023. They were extremely helpful during the entire admitting process. The staff are very friendly and polite. The food that is served is excellent. The staff in the activity room are fantastic always have different activities, games, and other things to keep the residents busy throughout the day. They also have church services and Bible studies during the week which are fantastic. When the time comes, this is the place to send your loved one.

My loved one was there for rehab for 3 weeks after being released from the hospital for pneumonia. In those three weeks she lost 18 lbs which she did not need to loose. We watched her mentally begin to shut down and got her out as soon as we could. Once she went back to her assisted living apartment she continued therapy there and regained most of the weight she had lost. I would never recommend this place unless you are bunking with your loved one. Walked in a few times and the oxygen hose was disconnected from the unit. They don’t care if they eat or not. She told us a few times when they took her down for therapy and all they did was ask if she could raise her legs then sent her back to her room. I suspect they keep them there as long as they can to bill Medicare.

CHRISTIAN VILLAGE of Crown Point, IN is located in the small town of Winfield, IN. My Mom was admitted to this facility in June, 2023 & I couldn't be more pleased & confident in her care. Christian Village accepted my Mom into their community when I could no longer manage her care at home... they truly have been a God-send to my family. The staff in general is very qualified & have treated my Mom with dignity & respect. Administration (Christy) has been particularly helpful in securing my Mom's place when I was struggling with her care at home. I will be forever grateful to her. The facility is clean & inviting offering the residents many amenities including a chapel (Catholic & nondenominational services) formal dining room, bistro, library, lovely outdoor garden, salon, recreation rooms, bird/fish aquariums as well as gift store. The staff will call with regular health updates (well-being) securing my confidence. All in all the standard is set high with my Mom happy in her new home. She and I are both grateful to CROWN POINT VILLAGE. This is my view point & am not affiliated with this community.

My mother has been to almost EVERY rehab/nursing facility in Northwest Indiana, with that being said, she has returned to CPCV 4 times this year. The staff (all of them) are amazing with her. I am very involved in my mom's care and I am hands on. I will not tolerate incompetence or ignorance when taking care of my mom. If something needs to be addressed, I assure you, I address it and it gets handled. I highly recommend CPCV to anyone in search of a facility where people actually care.

We have our mom in the memory care end of this facility and we've been happy with her care. Our dad is at another end doing physical therapy to get stronger from chemo & may need hospice. We will not keep him here for end of life. The smell, the dull old worn decor & all around environment is just depressing. The staff treats him better when we are there and is not as responsive to "hitting the call button" when we are not. (Having to wait an hour) The care has been very hit & miss. I know everyone is understaffed. End of life is sad & hard enough. This facility is not helping with any of the stress that comes along with this season. Especially for family that don't live local. We would not recommend this facility overall.

In addition to providing compassionate care, this facility is clean, bright and welcoming. The sense of mission is as strong as the professionalism. My mom has gained strength and health since becoming a villager; the staff's watchfulness along with spiritual care and the bond with fellow residents play strong roles in that accomplishment. Family communication with staff is easy. Concerns are addressed quickly. If 24/7 care at home isn't possible, this is the best possible option.

No one wants to reach the point where they have to place a loved one in a nursing home. A year ago I had to place my mother in a nursing home as she did not get the care she needed in the assisted living facility where she lived. I called Crown Point Christian Village for an assessment and a nurse came out that day. She moved in the next day. It was very hard for both of us. The staff was wonderful in reassuring me that it takes a few weeks for a new resident to get used to their new home. The Activity Director and her staff made sure to include her in all the activities. They would come for her. They encouraged her. The facility itself is very clean. The bedding is changed with a date listed. The staff is pleasant and they are very observant of any medical problems that might arise. Blood pressure is taken regularly and they recently discovered that my mom had a UTI. Labs can be done at the facility. If they are able, you can take your loved one out for a meal or family dinner at your house. I was determined to try and keep things as normal as possible. I would not hesitate to recommend Crown Point Christian Village. It is still difficult for me but if I need information the facility is always ready to answer my questions.

I cant put into words how amazing CPCV is. My Aunt moved in, in May 2019. She was a mess physically and mentally dt being in another LTC facility. CPCV got her medications straightened out, she participated in therapy, and was strong again. She made new friends and participated in activities. She loved it at CPCV. As she has recently passed away, I would just like to say thank you so much for making her last year of life wonderful. She was surrounded by great people who wanted nothing but the best for her. The staff is amazing nurses, CNAs, dietary, housekeeping, activities, social services, management. Everyone truly looked over her to make sure she was okay. They have the best interest of each Resident in mind. CPCV is a family and Im glad my Aunt was apart of it. I appreciate everything they all did for my Aunt. Thank you again CPCV.

My mother lives here. There is peace of mind knowing shes in a safe environment. The worker are very nice and respectful to the residents. The apartments are nice. Most of them are being renovated with new flooring, tile back splashes & stainless steel appliances. Some day the meals could be better but there are lots of options for the residents.

My Mom was a resident at Crown Point Christian Village for the past 4 years. My brothers and I didnt want to place our Mom in a nursing home...ever. However, when Mom became non-weight bearing, we were no longer able to properly care for her. We looked into a few facilities, but were just so discouraged. Once we met with CP Christian Village, we knew deep in our hearts we had found home for our Mom. At first, our social Mom kept to herself. However, with a little coaxing from the staff, it wasnt long before she started going to the activity room, and then the dining room, and then church. And, she just continued to flourish. Our Mom blossomed from all the love surrounding her by the staff. All of the nurses and aides, the Pastor, the activity staff, dining room staff, custodial services... all... were so loving and kind to her. And, she deeply loved them all, as did we. All of her needs were met, but it went far beyond that. You see, our Mom had a little beagle, Molly. Mom was so distraught she would have to give Molly up. CP Christian Village heard of Moms distress over Molly, and they invited Molly (on a trial basis at first) to become a resident of CPCV. So, Mom and Molly were both residents, and Molly made many, many friends. Especially, those with treats! Sadly, Molly passed away a year ago. We were so thankful Molly was allowed to remain a part of our Moms life. The Crown Point Christian Village offers several Church services, in different denominations. The meals provided are very good; the food is very tasty. Many different activities are offered, including Bingo (Moms very favorite), Bunco, Trivia, Movies, Book Readings, and so much more... oh, and coffee!!They have a hair salon, with the sweetest hair stylist ever! I cannot stress enough, if you are in the position my brothers and I were in 4 years ago, please contact this special, special Christian Village. We were so blessed we did.One final note: Our Mom went home to be with our Heavenly Father 2 days ago. Her funeral is tomorrow. As grief-stricken, as we all are, I felt it was important to praise a staff that made our Moms final years so unbelievably remarkable. Our Mom touched so many lives, but all of our lives have been deeply touched by all at the Crown Point Christian Village. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We will love you forever.
