You do not want to put your loved one here for Assisted Living. This facility is definitely just for Independent living. The expectation is you will be up, dressed and ready to go to the dining restaurant by 0800 for breakfast or you are not a good fit for this facility. I was told this by Brenda after the first night stay for our loved one. Before admitting our loved one. I asked for the highest level of care to be given and paid for it, with Assisted Living, which Brenda then down-graded to a level 3 after assessing her. Then after being admitted, then to not even receive a bed bath cleaning until day 7, upon which I demanded a cleaning prior to discharge. I was told that Bonaventura does not provide Skilled Care, and bed bath cleanings are not offered or given in Assisted Living. Would ask for help with brushing teeth and brushing hair. Would be told "in just a minute, we will help you," only to be forgotten. Meals were missed, phone was never installed, portable oxygen tanks not refilled, left in urine filled depends for hours on end. Total neglect. I discharged our loved one on day 7. Karen, Angelina, Martin and Bonaventura van driver, all did their very best to help. Otherwise, Horrific care!!

I have been visiting Bonaventure several times over the last year. The welcoming atmosphere and caring people that I see interacting with the residents just keeps getting better and better. I appreciate the commitment to improving the overall quality service provided to the residents there. My recent visit to memory care was awesome, staff interacting with residents with respect and genuine care.Great activities going on with several residents as well. I would definitely recommend Bonaventure of Colorado Springs to my patients.

Jazmine! In a word, speak with Jazmine. I contacted Bonaventure under pretty stressful circumstances (my elderly mother needed a quick move in) and Jazmine was incredibly insightful. She took the time to talk with me about our particulars and she responded accordingly. I did not feel pressured. I felt heard. I did not feel like I was being "sold'. I felt like she could empathize with me as a care giver. She was fantastic at hearing our particular needs and she went above and beyond to meet those needs. Bonaventure is a beautiful facility and if Jazmine is any indication of the overall experience….you can move forward with confidence!

This review is for the Memory Care. We moved my Dad into the Memory Care at Bonaventure and we couldn't be happier with the staff! The new director, Glaiza is amazing. She is very hands on with the residents and her staff is the most kind caring staff we have seen anywhere. Every time we go to visit Dad he is happy and looks great. Just yesterday when we came they were outside for a walk enjoying the warm sunshine and when they got back they were given water and then boarded the bus for a scenic drive. All the staff are friendly and helpful and really care about the residents. The Memory Care unit is being updated with nice new carpet and paint. Dad's room is always clean and smells great when we come in. He is never left in his room but instead is out in the common area with the staff and other residents so he has lots of companionship and interaction with people. We are really happy with his situation at Bonaventure's Memory Care and would highly recommend it to anyway looking to make this transition for their loved one.

Best thing I could have done for my mom. The staff has been extremely accommodating to me and my mom, not just in move-in but after she’s situated too. It feels like a family and I trust the medical staff and employees entirely. Best decision I could have made for my mother, forever grateful for everything they’ve done for us. Strongly recommend for others considering independent, assisted or memory care accommodations. Personal story: They protected my mom from being hurt while she was in assisted living since she’d wander off outside. They helped me transfer her into memory care and if it weren’t for their staff, she could have easily injured herself. This facility is not only a home but a place that our loved ones will always remain protected.

I have read many of the reviews and 99% of the 1 star reviews have been from disgruntled employees. My mom has been at Bonadventure over a year. She loves it!! Loves the staff, the residents, the activities and her apartment. I would agree there is turnover here BUT there is turnover at every facility. This is hard work!! It is not easy to completely care for another human being. If it was then they would be at home with their loved ones. The staff in charge of my moms care have been nothing less than phenomenal. Judine gave me her personal number the day my mom moved in a year ago and said to call or text anytime with anything, and I have. Always pleasant, always gets things done, Always on top of it. Meds are on time 5 times a day. My moms care team Ellen and Taylor..AMAZING...anytime my mom calls for any help they are there immediately to help. Always friendly, creating a relationship with my mom, not just caregivers. If your reading this and considering Bonadventure I would say go for it. Employees come and go..If they go and it wasn't on their terms of course they will leave a bad review. Take it a from Medical power of attorney for my mom..this place is home.

Not happy at all with the business dealings of this place. They deceived and took advantage of my Mother who is 88. She looked at this place once my Dad died as she need to go to Assisted Living AFTER she sold her home. That was in February of this year. They persisted with me and with her each week. She went in alone 2 weeks ago and Jacklyn had her sign a contract with a down payment for first month. Her house is not even sold. My Mom told her over and over she could not afford the monthly of close to $5,000 until the house is sold. I told them the same. My Mom is confused, unaware of business dealings as she has never had to do it before, doesn't understand, stressed to the max and mourning the loss of my Dad after 70 years of marriage. Bonaventure was totally aware of this and took advantage of an 88 year old. I have asked for a copy of the contract twice. Nothing. I have asked to have a call back. Nothing. Not trusting the business dealings of Bonaventure. When I am not getting a call back or response to this contract I am questioning the integrity of this place.

She has been so kind, compassionate, and attentive to not only the needs of my grandparents, but those of the entire family as well. She was there for us through the transition from independent to assisted living, as well as the entire process of my grandmother's passing. We moved my dad here about a week ago, but I have been working at Bonaventure for a little bit now, and I would recommend Bonaventure to anyone without hesitation. I truly cannot express how grateful I am for them- they have taken in my dad who was abused at another facility and I have seen the biggest change in him in the last few days (he is in memory care). The care staff and directors are amazing, and it is so refreshing to see directors who help on the floor when it is needed, rather than sitting in their offices (the food is also so good)! I have loved working here as well! Everyone is so respectful, and management sticks up for its employees. They are been nothing but kind and gracious. I am eternally grateful for all they have done for myself and my family. I was pressured into writing a good review for another facility (which is closing down) which I regret so much. I am so saddened that my review may have made an impact on someone thinking about moving their family there. I can say without a doubt, however, that at Bonaventure the residents are cared for so well, and are always the priority. I have heard some negative things about Bonaventure from ex-employees in the past (however they are not very trustworthy people in general), but I have nothing but positive things to say.

My mom and stepdad moved into Bonaventure about 7 years ago and lived in the independent part of the facility. They enjoyed the activities, events, and friends that she met while living there. After my stepdad passed away, mom continued to live independently until she began to have health issues. Eventually, she was moved into an assisted living apartment when hospice was needed. The staff was wonderful to our mom in her last couple of weeks.

My parents have lived here since April 2019. My mom recently passed away but absolutely loved living here. She loved all the activities provided and loved all the residents. My Dad still resides here. The apartments are very clean and kept up with. I love the staff, especially Lydia and Melissa....there are more but I cant remember all their names. The staff all greet you when they see you. When my mom passed they made special effort to keep an eye on my Dad for a while. My parents both like, liked the food. I dont plan on moving my Dad as he is content there. The only issue we had at first was getting all my moms meds lined out, but in their defense she was on 16 different one.

Ive put alot of time into checking thos place out for future use and think its a nice place with alot to offer being a full accommodating senior living, when I first started my appearances around two years ago it was going through a change in management and I wouldnt have stayed there myself let alone my mother, Knowing they went through a change I gave it another chance and Ive seen this place that once seemed cold and out of control to warm and caring for its residents and to family members they are are inviting and seem knowledgeable to the elderly needs. This has been a trying time for the staff but, they have worked endlessly to keep our loved ones safe and happy. Lydia, the director always goes above and beyond no matter the circumstances! She is always there day, night. Lydia makes sure her staff is doing what are suppose to be doing. I do not know about the Corporate atmosphere. My loved one has been here 5 years and its the best staff with Lydias leadership so far!

She started out in assisted living and loved the sereneness of the building as well as all of the activities very much. But, as time went on, she needed medical supervision. Thanks Bonaventure, for taking great care of my folks. I knew we were in the right place from the moment we walked in. The beautiful entry was only complimented by the warm staff and professionals who greeted us. In particular, I want to give a big shout out to Lydia who took us on a tour. She had an obvious attention to detail and went above and beyond in helping me get my folks into Bonaventure. Then, once there, shes been so, so helpful in every way. When my father eventually passed, she called me and cried with me. She then comforted and cared for my mom as we moved her to a smaller unit. She even led the staff with physically moving the furniture from one unit to the other. To this day, she and the other staff members dont just check on my mother, they help nurture her in every way. I also need to point out that the food there is the best and Im saying that after having eaten there many times with my folks. Thanks Bonaventure, you guys are the best!!

I feel, as an employee of this company, even though it hasnt been long, I have a good perspective of the level of care the residents receive at Bonaventure. I have witnessed the care staff go the extra mile for each senior they come in contact with. From providing for their basic needs to giving compassionate encouragement to lift the soul. The restaurant staff are just fantastic. They meet each residents need and their wants, knowing each person by name. The administration staff is beyond belief. Even though they may have stacks of paperwork on their desk and deadlines that need to be met, they drop everything to give a caring hand to all in need. I can truly say I love my job at Bonaventure, and I wouldnt want to work any place else.

I am currently the Activity Director at Bonaventure of Colorado Springs. Have been here for 1.5 years. I have to say I absolutely love it here, it is a completely different environment then any other place I have ever been employed at. My story is a fun one because I have really grown with the company. I began in the kitchen as a server, really just a gear in the whole machine. In time I became the receptionist proving myself to my executive director, he has always encouraged every one in the building to shoot for the stars. He saw more in me than I ever saw in myself. So in August I was promoted to Activity Director. I love my job, I love my residents, and I love my Bonaventure family. I say family because in the last 1.5 years I really struggled personally and members of the staff were there with me supporting me every day. The residents here are amazing, they are just like my adopted grandparents reminding me to wear a coat in the winter - to take my vitamins so I dont get sick. At Bonaventure we are reminded that residents are our #1 priority, no matter what is happening in the building or at home. Take that extra time for residents, because they are the ones we ultimately care for every day.

I am a current employee at Bonaventure and I cannot say enough good things about this community. That is exactly what it is.....a community, filled with residents, employees, friends and family members. Its a community where those who worked so hard all their lives can come and live a fun yet relaxing lifestyle. I always refer to our building as a cruise ship on land! While I have only been employed with Bonaventure for a year, we have employees that have been here years and even some that have been here since the building opened in December of 2013. Not only do we have amazing employees, we have amazing residents whom we all have come to love and treat as our own family. Some of the residents have also been here since the building opened and often tell me theyll never go anywhere else. Working at Bonaventure has not only been the most rewarding job Ive ever had, its also been the most fun. Since the day I started I knew this was a company I wanted to grow with. I started out as the Sales and Marketing Manager and because this company and our Executive Director believed in me, I was promoted to the Assistant Executive Director. This company has one of the absolute best training programs provided by their home office team. While home office is in Oregon, they are never more than a phone call away and often come to visit each community at least once a month. Ive never worked for a company where the Chief Operating Officer literally gives you their own personal phone number to reach them should you ever need anything. How many companies do that? Every day I am grateful for the opportunities Bonaventure has provided me and I look forward to spending many more years making it A Great Day at Bonaventure!
