My dad has lived here for about three years in the independent living section of the building. He likes the place -- he's made friends and likes the food. I think the place is very well run -- the management and staff really care about the place, and it shows. The one time when my dad had a minor medical incident (he passed out), the staff handled it well. For contrast, I have another close relative in a different facility nearby (not Atria) and that facility, while acceptable, is clearly not as well run as Atria. Surprisingly, Atria is less expensive than this other facility. So I consider Atria to be a fantastic deal. I recommend it strongly (at least for independent living... I have no direct experience with the assisted living). The only minor nitpick I have about Atria is that the weekly cleaning of the apartments is only so-so. About once a year I do some additional "deep cleaning" of my Dad's apartment. Not a big deal.

I would say be very cautious if you are looking to move here. I have found they will give you quite a song and dance to get you in the door but will find over time things are not what they claimed. If my health was better I would be considering moving. I have found there is a Ombudsman here so I am hoping something can be done to help me.

My mother has spent the last two years at this facility and it has been a great experience. She is more lively than I have ever seen her. With all the great activities that they have, my mother has really thrived in that environment. The caring staff is very helpful and kind.

My husband and I stayed at Carmichael Oaks as a respite stay as I am my husband’s primary caregiver. We had a great stay and know this will be our forever home, once needed. Facilities -our apartment was very comfortable with two bathrooms and an extra large bedroom. Room 334. -We enjoyed the Koi pond and shaded Park area -every window had a park like view of a garden -Wall art was abundant and interesting Activities -exercise classes, every day, special guests, bingo, and happy hour every week in the veterans hall -Table games and cards in the south living room and North activities lounge -Chapel services in the north tower with stained glass windows, with an organ and pulpit Residents -friendly and encouraging, especially with pets. Respectful of person and property. Great company at meals and good competition at games. Staff -helpful and informative meals served with a smile, rooms cleaned efficiently, front desk Responsive activities, creative, and engaging problems handled with composure

Atria Carmichael Oaks memory care has been a great placement for mom. The surroundings are warm, safe and supportive. The staff is caring and attentive and the medical staff is always observant and perceptive of mom's needs. Special care is taken to encourage socialization and activities that are appropriate to memory care residents. We are grateful for the attention and care that is shown to the residents.

Why have repairs not been made in the rear of the building. Scaffolding seems to be preventing the backside from total collapse. This appears to be progressing without any attempt at repair. How does this pass any sort of inspection?

I am a disabled veteran with a service dog. I picked Carmichael Oaks because it provided transportation to my medical and dental providers. I like the open space of the facility, as it helped with my disabilities and management of my service dog. The staff has been extremely friendly and assist me when I need assistance. As a retired, disabled old man, I really enjoy not have to do yard work, building maintenance, shopping for food, preparing the food, cleaning up after eating after a meal, figuring out scheduling and getting transportation to events and activities. What makes it enjoyable to me, beyond the terrific staff is the similar socioeconomic level of the residents. It is easy to get involved with enjoyable groups be it for bridge, chess, pinochle, walking, ....

Atria has been a friendly environment since we first brought our Gma there back in 2022. Staff welcomed us with smiles & treated us like family since we first arrived. Atria Carmichael is well-designed. The information I got was comprehensive and complete. They answered all of my questions and addressed things I had not thought of before that. The tour was well presented and complete to my expectations. Marketing director Karie is very knowledgeable and highly educated. a one available and it was nice. The activities were fantastic. My mom recently broke her hand and needed temporary assisted living arrangements quickly. Atria Carmichael Oaks was so responsive and helped us to quickly navigate the move-in and medical processes. They were extremely accommodating of my mom's short-term needs (she stayed 2 months) and provided my mom with excellent care and support while she was healing. The staff - from the front desk to the care givers to the executives - are kind and caring. If my mom needs assisted living again in the future, we would definitely consider Atria Carmichael Oaks.

Atria Carmichael Oaks is an amazing community. Whenever I enter I’m greeted with the most warm welcome from their receptionist/concierge that makes a point to try and strike up a conversation that makes me feel that I matter. The staff all seem so happy and cheerful and the residents are always engaged in some type of activity whether it’s with the activity director or each other. You can honestly tell that this community is under great leadership with their Executive Director, Kayla who is also a delightful person. I would definitely recommend this community to anyone looking for senior living and dementia care.

VERY disappointed. Management from top unresponsive, not truthful. Staff and employees often working understaffed to increase profit, which causes stress to both staff and residents. Management is useless frequently firing, reducing costs and increasing stress on residents and staff. Repeating hiring, firing, requiring overtime, cancel days off. Although it is obvious Atrea’s goal is profit above all else. Management prefers to fill and refill rooms and raise rents. Ever so easy if they were honest and truthful with Atrea services residents pay for every month.

My father has resided at the Atria Carmichael Oaks for almost two years in a lovely one-bedroom apartment, and he is so very happy there. The whole place has such a warm and cozy feel, when you first walk in the front entrance. Our family so very much appreciates the great care that he receives. All the staff are so friendly and caring and the food served in the dining room is very good.

I have recently toured 4 senior living facilities for my sister in law and this community is by far the most home-like. As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed by everyone around like we’ve all known each other for years. Karie was compassionate, honest, and made us feel like she is invested in other’s wellbeing, not just the sale. We look forward to coming back for an event!

As another professional in this industry, I met with and toured Atria Carmichael Oaks with Karie. Karie was wonderful. The building was very nice, clean and the staff was all very friendly. It felt very warm and the residents all seemed to be very happy. This was a great experience.

The staff go above and beyond. The views from the rooms are amazing. The place is very warm and inviting. There are many places like this to choose from, but only this place had residents approaching us on the tour singing praises. They treat the residents like family. I think a lot of the way this place is run comes from the top down, which is nice.

A friend moved to Carmichael Oaks after the death of her husband in January 2020. At first it was The place. Then there was a management changed and Covid hit and the problems began. Rent increases, problems with the kitchen staff etc. My friend is very unhappy there and it's just a sad situation.

I would like to commend the Caregivers and Med Techs in the Life Guidance community. I can't single out just one. They all take amazing care of my Mom. There are not enough of them, and they are VERY busy taking care of all the residents. They do not get enough credit for what they do. Only a certain type of person can do what they do. I thank them every chance I get. Some quit recently because they just can't handle the stress of the job. That leaves the rest of them VERY shorthanded, and working overtime. But they do it! Certainly not for the pay, because that is NOTHING! They deserve a VERY large thank you from EVERYONE!!
