Place is dirty and full of germs. Depressing rooms and food is terrible. My Dad got released from there and a day later had parafluenza which landed him in the hospital. Would never let my Dad go back there.

The staff here at OPP are very smart, kind, and helpful, everyone I speak with also comments on how this is the best place around Madison for assisted living. I am so happy that I am here.
March 2024
My Mom was at Oak Park after surgery for PT, OT, and overall balance strengthening. We had a great experience. Staff, food, PT plan; all very positive for both us the family and her as the patient. I would recommend this location to anyone needing family assistance. The staff all came to say good bye and wish her luck at home.
March 2024
The residents and staff are great! I was fortunate to give a presentation on healthy eating and creating simple, but healthy meals. Multiple of the staff and residents helped me with setting up the room and preparing a few of the ingredients. They were very respectful and asked good questions. It's great to see that Oak Park is willing to reach out and bring in guest speakers and provide their residents with health and wellness activities!

My family and I have had to, unfortunately, experience several rehab facilities due to my mother with dementia having a fall and needing significant recovery, being placed in the memory care unit. The care at Oak Park Place is much better than most. While many nursing homes and rehab facilities house staff that are careless or unskilled, Oak Park Place has quite a few staff who take their work seriously and show their human soul. 'Rita' is one of the CNAs who is truly a godsend, who works earnestly and knows what she is doing. Their internship program sends lots of eager and hard working high school folks to help out, which also helps increase staffing ratios. The agency supposedly/appears to treat its employees well, which is probably why it is fully staffed (so I hear). While I would never wish any senior to spend any time in a rehab facility or a nursing home, if you do have to consider this option for a loved one, know that Oak Park Place is decent.

This is a very nice place to live. Everyone seems to be helpful and present. I originally moved here to be closer to my children.
November 2023
The staff at Oak Park Place has been very welcoming and efficient. There are many and varied activities to suit any interests.
November 2023
A lot of staff turnover. Do not always or consistently deliver the services you pay for although the prices are high enough. Communication with residents and family is inconsistent or non existent.
October 2023
It felt like home the second day we moved in. Very friendly residents. Considerate staff.

August 2023
I moved into my new home at the Arbors end of July. I have struggled the past few years with falling and injuries. I no longer have the difficult home chores ..... My sister and friends are so happy for me. I am now and able to socialize. I really enjoy starting my day with meeting friends for breakfast and coffee then at dinner with a chef prepared meal. I am getting structured and it makes such a big difference. It helps to have something to look forward to Crafts, games, music, entertainment keeps my brain exercised. Available Transportation gives me freedom to do things at home. I get to have my best friend, my cocker spaniel Franci with me. We have safe places to walk. The Arbors has wonderful amenities. My view from my new home is a pond and beautiful sunset. I was reluctant to leave my home by myself. I don't feel intimidated to use my walker or cane, I feel equal to everyone no matter if I am using a walker, cane or wheelchair. More freedom to do things. Exercise classes have helped me be ahead of schedule rehabbing from broken shoulder. The Activities keep me moving and active. Special thanks to Chris, Scott, Rhonda, Claire, Joan, Jen and the wonderful dining staff.

June 2023
My mom has been in the janesville oak park for a little over two months now and she still is not getting the right food she puts down on her menu every week and its just not her most of the residents are not getting what they are paying big money every month in rent for, this is getting a little ridiculous how do you mess up wanting chicken noodle soup and keylime pie and getting instead beeftips, mashed potatos, brussel sprouts and pumkin pie really i mean really do something or give her money back in rent.
April 2023
My mom was at The Arbors independent living for over 3 years and really enjoyed her time there. She is in Oak Park assisted living now and enjoying that also. The staff at Oak Park are great!
April 2023
When I put in my résumé for the job here at Oak park Place, the coordinator, Lindsay, she was so awesome to me. I’m met some wonderful people. I had three different interviews, and each one of them have given me nothing but love I am so grateful to come aboard to a wonderful place, it is a family or a tent place it’s like mama bear protecting all her cups. She is a wonderful person to work for. I come in with a whole bunch of red tape and they could’ve said you know what you’re coming in with a whole bunch of stuff and we can’t deal with it but know they understood that life happens and told me when I was ready to come on to work so I am grateful to start work this week at a wonderful establishment .
April 2023
Our mom has lived at the arbors at oak park since 2012. the staff is warm and welcoming. Our interactions with Michelle Scott and Rhonda have been great! They are quick to help with whatever we need. You can be as involved in activities as much or as little as you want. You can make friends or be given your privacy. There are all sizes of apts. to choose from based on your budget. The arbors is also in a great location near many stores and services. I would recommend it when the time comes that you don't want to take care of a house anymore and you still want to be part of a community with a neighborhood feel.
April 2023
Our mom has lived at the Arbors at Oak Park since 2012. The Staff there is awesome. Especially Michelle, Rhonda and Scott!
April 2023
they have been very good to my mom and Betty in Janesville helped with everything that needed to be done. With great thanks Debra Kuna.
January 2023
The facility and staff make the transition to senior living something to truly look forward to. We went to a wide variety of senior living places and The Arbors came to the top mom's list not just because of the accommodations but because of the staff, activities and attention to resident needs. It feels comfortable and it feels like home. The recommendations we read were outstanding but, most importantly, everywhere we turned we saw evidence of the recommendations. Since moving in we have unequivocally seen that she made the right choice for her.
August 2022
Very nice! We had a great experience exploring the Arbors with Tom Richter. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the facility. Nancy Thomas the resident manager was helpful with the contract and getting signed in. Staff has been very friendly and helpful always saying Hi in the hallways and very accepting. The meals we have had are delicious and the servers call us by our first names. Michelle at the reception desk is the House Wizard. She is very knowledgeable and helpful greeting everyone by their first name. We really feel at home here.
April 2022
In the process of moving my mom in. Staff is super friendly and accommodating!!
February 2022
The people were great, the nurses where helpful, knowledgeable, and over worked. The rooms were beat up, trash cans where not dumped for days. I was not informed in about PT or what the plans were for 5 days into her stay. When they did communicate with me they were great. Didn't know who the attending PA or doctor was and no way to communicate with them about my concerns. I still never connected with the doctor or PA she has been discharged.
December 2021
I have lived at Oak Park Place since 2016 and have no plans of moving anywhere else. All my needs are met, I enjoy the residents and the staff work very hard to meet all our needs. The last few years with COV'D have been challenging and I think the group did a wonderful job in keeping us safe.
February 2021
To be closer to me and my siblings, my parents moved to OPP-Madison Assisted Living from their home in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in April 2019. Going from small town life in the wilderness to the big city was a huge adjustment, but the staff helped with that transition and have provided loving and continuous care. We lost my father to Parkinsons disease in October 2020 and the staff were so helpful to me and my family as we transitioned to our new reality - especially my mother who was treated with so much compassion by everyone. In an effort to minimize the loneliness brought on by the necessary COVID restrictions, staff have been helpful in arranging virtual visits with FaceTime and Zoom and recently have arranged controlled in-person visits in a safe setting to ensure everyones protection. I am thankful to have Mom close by knowing she is being treated with love and respect consistently by the entire staff.
February 2021
Oak Park Place is a wonderful community! The staff are friendly and caring, the living spaces are very nice and feel like home, and the location is very close to many amenities including parks, shops and restaurants. I would highly recommend Oak Park Place to anyone looking for a senior community!
February 2021
My 95 year old mother has had two rehab stays at Oak Park and received the best care possible, from a very caring and professional staff.
February 2021
We have had the pleasure of helping families downsize and move residents into Oak Park Place over the years. We see first hand the quality of staff, cleanliness of the apartments and common spaces, willingness to help residents in a caring and compassionate manner, and we see that the residents adjust and settle in easily. It is great to see! Keep up the wonderful job you are doing!
January 2021
Before the pandemic I had the pleasure of attending many functions at Oak Park Place. They invited many in the area to their monthly functions. It was always an informative and enjoyable afternoon. The gatherings were on a variety of subjects from the Stoughton Norwegian Dancers to a Chef making different foods for all to enjoy, a Frank Sinatra impersonator and other informative speakers. These afternoons were always done in good taste, decorations and light snacks. Especially fun to attend was their summer picnic along with excellent food and wonderful live bands. They had several stations set up for the children to enjoy such as face painting, balloon animals, etc. Since the pandemic took over last Spring, Oak Park has been diligent in trying to keep up, virtually, with some of the past traditions. As we all can understand, this is a totally new concept and takes a lot of work and talent to try and come up with ideas to try and make this work. They did have a picnic last August with music and food and invited many to join in this endeavor. Also, in December, they had a snowflake coloring project which I enjoyed doing. The cutout snowflakes and coloring pens were sent to people interested and then put on a Christmas tree when returned. Another recent project was making Energy Balls. The recipe and all ingredients were furnished. This project also was a simple and fun task and, best of all, the individuals who participated in this, got to keep and eat the Energy Balls. I must say they were easy to make, good to eat, but cant really say they gave me any extra energy. Anyhow, I most sincerely thank Oak Park and their staff for coming up with projects and inviting the outside neighbors to join in. It is truly an example of kindness and Good Will to those of us who are not residents.
December 2020
My Mom, now deceased, lived at Oak Park Place for ten years, beginning with The Arbors independent living, then graduating through regular assisted living and eventually to memory care, with a few weeks stay in the skilled nursing area as well. I visited her frequently, became familiar with the different areas, and was satisfied with her care. The facility is beautiful and clean. Food was good. Activities were varied and appropriate. Staff turn-over was my main concern, but likely no more problematic than at most similar facilities. Staff communicated with me when something serious occurred, and offered suggestions for things I could do or provide for improved care. Management was always welcoming and responsive when I brought issues to their attention. They helped to make the transitions from each level of care to the next very smooth. I recommend this senior housing community.
November 2020
My parents lived here for several years before they passed away. The staff were always so loving and kind to my folks and to me. My mom was in memory care and my dad was in skilled nursing. I was always so impressed with the lengths the staff went to to allow them to spend time together. And the people from the activities were wonderful. So inclusive and encouraging my parents to participate in various things. I feel so very grateful for the help and support my family got from the staff.
August 2020
I have worked at Oak Park Place for 9 years as a hair stylist in the assisted living 2 facility and Fridays in the Main facility. Oak Park is by far the nicest senior living community I have seen. The staff works hard and they truly care about the residents. I myself feel so blessed to have been given the opportunity to have met so many great people over the years and I could never see myself leaving.
August 2020
I live in Assisted Living 1 and its a good place to live. Friendly and attentive staff. I love the daily exercise classes and the Friday Fling. Lots to do!
May 2020
My mother stayed in memory care for respite stay . AL assisted living staff where great. They kept us updated with changes or concerns regarding my mother. Staff in the memory care unit keep and encourage the residents to come to activities which my mother never did. It was nice to see the staff and residents involved. Overall great care and support in Assisted living memory care.
April 2020
Oak Park Place was the place I chose, out of 4 places that I toured, for my wife who had dementia. They took very good care of her. My wife resided in the Memory Care Unit in AL 2. They took very good care of her. I could no longer live alone so I to the Oak Park Arbors Independent Living to be near her. When she passed, I stayed in my independent living apartment as I made some friends. I then had a MI- Stroke and went to the Oak Park Nursing and Rehab for 4 months. From there I then moved into the Assisted Living in AL 2 which is adjacent from the main building. I find this to be very nice and comfortable. The staff is great, we laugh a lot and get serious when need be. It is a great campus as you can go to different areas for activities, rest and relaxation.
March 2020
Yesterday was my moms birthday. She is a resident at Oak Park Place at AL1. We are a very close family and it has been hard not to see my mom with the quarantine going on, and especially on her birthday! The staff at Oak Park Place went above and beyond and made my moms birthday special! We are so thankful for the staff and the friends that she has made since she has been residing there.
March 2020
Great place for your love one. The director of housing was great with the transitioning with my father. The staff very welcoming and making sure my family and dad felt like he was home. Room looked good and cleaned. Unit nice and bright. Dad still keeps his Independence with help from the staff and it feels good knowing that dad is in great care.

Ive worked at Oak Park Place for 12 years and i enjoy caring for the memory care residents and working closely with families. Ive worked all shifts here at oak park place and currently work mornings but do pick up on Pm shift. My job isnt just a job for me. I love what i do and like helping others helping families adjust to their love one moving into an assisted living or memory care. Oak park place staff, residents and families have become my second family.
February 2020
I moved into assisted living 1 two months ago after being on the waiting list for a year. Im so happy to finally be here, we looked at many other communities and this was our favorite by far. Oak Park is nice, clean, and friendly. We have a lot of activities and thats what keeps me going. Exercise class, euchre, crafts, outings, and lots of professional entertainment are my favorites. I have gotten to know the staff very well and this is my thank you for meeting all my wants and needs since Ive been here!
January 2020
My mother has been a resident in the independent (Arbors) wing at OPP for five years. She loves her apartment, the staff, her neighbors, the weekly rhythm of activities, and twice-daily chance to socialize over breakfast and dinner. She also enjoys walking through the clean, safe, attractive halls for exercise even when it is too rainy or cold to venture outdoors. Everyone on the staff has been courteous, understanding, helpful, and professional in assisting our family through transitions in recent years.
December 2019
I am a retired sheriffs deputy and at one point of my career I started becoming very disgruntled and distanced myself from other people as well as my own family. I had to find an outlet before everything I knew was ruined. I desperately needed to learn how to love people again. I became a law enforcement chaplain and started to find my way. As time went on I started to find a sense of normalcy. I retired from law enforcement and started working as an activity assistant at Oak Park Place in Menasha, WI. In my past job I did do some business with mental health facilities and health care facilities. I can safely say that the facilities I visited were short staffed and underpaid. Having never worked in healthcare and viewing it as an Outsider I noticed how caring and compassionate the caregivers are, despite some of the factors they have to deal with. It takes a very special person to enter into this field and I would just like to remind those who make negative comments to please consider that. There is no person in any job that is perfect. Everyone of us have the same emotions and everyone of us have bad days. We dont know a persons story or what they are going through that includes staff and residents. Dont judge a book by its cover and dont place blame unless you have walked in that persons shoes. Oak Park Place is a wonderful facility and thank them for the wonderful opportunities they have given me. They have my utmost respect.Sincerely,Kyle HolewinskiCo
June 2019
I had numerous questions about the type of care my loved one would receive at Oak Park Place vs. other facilities. Amber, Director of Sales, at Oak Park Place was so patient and answered all of our questions. She is always willing to go above and beyond to be helpful. Since my loved one has been Oak Park, I have interacted with many other staff that are helpful and appear to enjoy their job and the residents. I appreciate that they are on top of day-to-day health needs as well as providing residents with lots of activities to stay involved. Thank you!
January 2019
I am a musical entertainer and I perform at a lot of facilities in and around the greater Madison, Milwaukee area. I can say hands down that Oak Park Place in Madison is one of my favorite communities to visit! The activity staff is a pleasure to work with and often has special theme days to go with the different types of music they bring in. It doesnt matter if Im performing for the independent living, assisted living or memory care folks, I can count on the staff to go out of their way to ensure everybody is having a great time! This makes my role as an entertainer so much easier. I cant wait to come back for another performance!!
October 2018
Caring staff, good food, lots of activities.
August 2018
There are many reasons to recommend OPP, but I particularly commend the work of the activities coordinator for the excellent array of regularly-scheduled and special events, a succinct but informative monthly calendar, her responsiveness to family queries, and occasional text message photos showing Mom in attendance. The calendar helps me schedule my phone calls to check in on Mom but also remind her to go to the Friday Fling, for example.
