My mom has been at the Burien Merrill Gardens since May of 2017. The staff is wonderful. Jace the supervisor over the serving staff takes the time to know the residents names and what their preferences are and has the serving staff take the same care.

I appreciate the security I feel just walking in. The lobby is spacious, well lit and clean. Everything is kept in impeccable condition. Nothing appears worn out in the slightest. The receptionist buzzes you in immediately. No waiting. And within a few visits everyone up front knew my name. The dining and activity areas are always abuzz with friendly gatherings. Definitely the nicest senior living facility I have ever visited.

Merrill Gardens at Burien is an amazing place. I play music at different retirement communities around Western Washington, and this is by far one of the most welcoming, warm communities in the area. The staff are awesome, and it seems like they take time to really get to know each resident - you can tell they genuinely care about the people who live here. Would heartily recommend this to my friends and family, if ever they need an inclusive community in which to retire and relax.

I've been honored to play piano at Merrill Gardens at Burien a handful of times now, both as a solo artist an as part of a jazz quartet. We are always treated very well by the staff and especially by the activities director, Christy Peterson. The residence seem to truly enjoy having live music for their cocktail hour. My late uncle lived at Merrill Gardens in Burien and our family had a wonderful experience. The community has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The building is clean and well maintained, and the staff always treated him with kindness and respect. The location is also excellent. It’s in a convenient part of Burien, close to shops, restaurants and a cute Farmers Market, but still feeling like a quiet and comfortable place to live. I especially want to recognize Robert from the maintenance team. He consistently went above and beyond to help my uncle whenever he needed assistance. He was always friendly, professional, and quick to respond. It was clear that he genuinely cared about the residents. Thank you to Robert and the entire team for creating such a caring and supportive community. We truly appreciate everything you have done for our family!

Recently I had an issue in my apartment and needed assistance. Robert, the lead maintenance man was quick to respond to my needs. He assisted in moving my things and setting me up in another apartment while repairs were made in my unit. He was also one to quickly respond if I needed additional things from my unit. Once repairs were completed he and his assistant were right on the spot in helping return everything to their proper place. Over the past year I’ve also witnessed Robert dealing quickly and efficiently with the needs of our homes and of our tenants. Robert deserves recognition for his hard work and caring attitude. My mother has been in Merrill Gardens for about three years now. Every staff member has been a delight to work with from the lowest tier to the highest management position, one of the employees at Merrill Gardens treats my mother with respect kindness and the professional attention she needs. The activities I feel our second to none, and I feel the same way about the food and the diversity of meals Merrill Gardens has proven to me that in regular day today interactions with my mother or more serious situations that they understand and react in the correct manner. Moved my in-laws to Merrill Gardens Burien last fall, and the experience has been better than I expected. Plenty of activities and ways to engage with other residents and the community at large. The staff is attentive and responsive. Banessa and her team in the Garden House create a comfortable environment for the memory care residents. And Chef Trevor makes sure everyone eats well!

I have worked as a private caregiver (not a Merrill Gardens employee) with three clients at Merrill Gardens and I could not be more impressed with this community. The staff is exceptional and all management personnel interact throughout the day with the residents. No hiding in their offices. Front desk staff are wonderful and are always watching out for each resident's well being. The dining room staff is very attentive and friendly. This is a very attractive facility in and of itself, but it is the kind loving staff that make it shine. There are a broad range of activities for residents of every capability, both at the residence and in the community. The activities staff are fun and loving to everyone. Maintenance issues are handled on a timely basis by a very knowledgeable crew. Having spent many hours immersed in the culture I would highly recommend Merrill Gardens Burien to anyone looking for a warm, safe and compassionate place to live.

Merrill Gardens in Burien has interesting activities for the residents. Last year I was invited to a wonderful 4th of July Marimba steel band concert and lunch. I taught school in the Highline School District, which surrounds the Burien area. Today there was a farmer’s market with fun activities for families and children.

I have visited Merrill Gardens twice and my mother is preparing to move in there this month. As a healthcare provider who has done extensive research on local assisted livings I just want to say that so far I have been impressed. I even spoke to 3 current residents and they each expressed that this was a good place. I appreciate the work and precautions they have put in to place to protect the staff and residents, and unfortunately there are people who will think that being conservative in response to a pandemic is not warranted, but this makes me want my mom to be here even more. Location is amazing, provided lunch was great!
