I don’t even work here and I could still tell something was seriously off just from visiting family. If it’s this obvious to outsiders, I can’t imagine how bad it is behind closed doors. The way staff are treated is honestly disturbing. You can feel the tension the second you walk in. At one point, I was told that most of the kitchen staff had either quit or were in the process of leaving, which says everything you need to know about how this place is run. Management is incredibly unprofessional. There’s constant drama, and somehow residents are being pulled into it, which is completely inappropriate. This is supposed to be a place where people feel comfortable and cared for, not like they’re stuck in the middle of workplace issues. And [name removed], she may come across as nice at first, but it quickly feels forced. There’s a clear difference between the front that’s put on and what’s actually going on underneath. It doesn’t take long to see through it. I genuinely hope I’m wrong and that this is just how it comes across to me, because I would be concerned having my own family placed in that kind of environment. Overall, the environment feels negative, disorganized, and uncomfortable. I would seriously question trusting a place like this with people you care about.

My mom passed away about a month ago in her beloved apartment at Merrill Gardens West Chester where she spent the last 7+ years. She had a very positive experience over these years. She developed dementia during this time, and the staff/administration were able to curtail a treatment plan uniquely for her. As a result, she was able to stay in her apartment that she was familiar with. The staff were caring, loving and professional. I knew they had her best interest at heart. As hospice was initiated, both the caregivers and the hospice team were able to coordinate and work together to give my mom the best possible care. No place is perfect; however, I can say with complete certainty that the administration will listen to you and do whatever they can to resolve issues or make life easier and happier for the resident. People who really care for your loved one....that is priceless!

I volunteer at Merrill Gardens Memory care unit, I look forward to volunteering and meeting with the individuals. We meet every Tuesday and do either cooking or making something decorative Theresa is amazing.

Memory care is not committed to compassion or cleanliness. I pulled my guy out after just 34 days as the burden for monitoring his care had to be overseen. This is not a place you can trust your loved ones to be properly cared for. At a great expense the hard learned lesson was obvious from 7/15/24 - 8/19/24. Do not be fooled.

I have enjoyed living at Merrill Gardens at West Chester for several years now. The other residents are very friendly. I especially enjoy participating in the activities such as local trips, crafts, musical performances, bingo and baking classes. Coffee Chat provides a nice opportunity to socialize three times a week. One of the best features of Merrill Gardens is that everything is in one building; no walking to meals or getting your mail in the rain or snow. Housekeeping and maintenance services are provided. There is a hair salon. Dining is available all day. Medical services (primary care, podiatry, X-ray services, and bloodwork) are provided right in the building. Rides to other medical and dental appointments are provided. For these reasons, I highly recommend senior living at Merrill Gardens at West Chester.

My mom, who is 92, has been in Merrill Gardens West Chester for over a year now. This is absolutely the best place we could have taken her. The caregivers and staff are amazing. I would give them more than five stars if I could. They go above and beyond what is needed. I looked at quite a few places before I found Merrill.Once I saw this place, the search was over. Fantastic!!

Marye Independent Living July 5, 2024 It is one year ago this week that I moved into Merrill Gardens of West Chester. I wanted a place that fit all my criteria. I wanted my physical surroundings to be friendly, pleasant, and warm. Having worked in the medical field, I also placed safety and compassion at the top of my list. And I especially wanted a staff who respected me and genuinely cared about my needs and wants. In my search I thought I might never find such a place. However, I found Merrill Gardens. When I moved into my new space, the staff were welcoming and helpful. My apartment looks out on a lovely garden that the residents of the Garden Club maintain. I have met many of the residents while at mealtime, activities, and bus trips to local stores. I am content here. I am relieved I do not have the responsibilities I had in my former home. I laugh more now. I am surrounded by people, both residents and staff, who are happy. My family and friends remark about how attentive the staff are. I am realizing that all the research I did to find the right place for me paid off. This is my home now and I am very happy and fortunate to be here.

Working with Alyssa and the other Merrill staff was a wonderful experience! Alyssa is very easy to talk to, approachable and knowledgeable. She helped to set my Mom's mind at ease about her move and has continued to be an encouraging presence! We are very thankful for Alyssa and Merrill Gardens.

We recently toured Merrill Gardens for a family member who had a quick change in condition. Thankfully, Alyssa was able to schedule us almost immediately. She was a wealth of knowledge and really soothed my family’s fears about transitioning a loved one into Personal Care. Her tour was professional and fun. She kept things light hearted and exciting for my family member (who was very nervous). On top of a very pleasant tour, the other staff seemed friendly. My family member loved that it’s next to an active airstrip, and clean!

My siblings and I toured Merrill Gardens with our dad as he had an immediate need for housing. Alyssa met with us within hours of our contacting her and she took the time to review all of the facility’s amenities, give us a complete tour, and answer all of our questions. She and the entire staff have ensured that dad’s transition to Merrill Gardens was smooth and they have been extremely welcoming. Our experience so far has been nothing short of exceptional!

My brothers and I had planned on touring several senior homes for our mom. We wanted to find the right place for her and thought that would take time to find. Merrill Gardens at West Chester was the first place we visited. Alyssa took us on a tour. She was very professional as well as very personable. We had a lot of questions and Alyssa took the time to not only answer them, but also provided additional information. We knew, before we left, Merrill is the place for our mom. We moved her in yesterday and everyone was so welcoming and attentive. I know we made the right choice!

I felt so at home going around with her and discussing possibilities for me. The place was friendly and spotless. There are so many activities as well as places to go and just sit and relax. We have had a very positive experience moving my Aunt into Merrill Gardens. After issues with her previous community nearby, we had to move her right away and Alyssa was as responsive as I could have hoped for. We had her moved her in a couple days and she has a much more positive outlook on her future. She keeps commenting on how much nicer everyone is and loves her unit and the facilities. She's doesn't suffer fools well and is very discerning, so for her to be complimentary is quite an accomplishment! Only been a couple weeks so far, but couldn't be happier with Alyssa and the staff so far.

I just wanted to thank Lynn Walsh for her assistance and care with getting our mother moved into Arbour Square. We had to move our mom while she was out of state due to an injury. Lynn couldn't have been more helpful from participating in conference calls with the family, being involved in the family group chats, giving property tours to not just myself but several other family members and making sure that everything was perfect for our mothers move. Lynn was beyond professional and so understanding with the stress of our particular situation. Lynn also gets our stubborn mom to participate in activities and she seems very happy with everything so far. Thanks Lynn and Arbour Square for your kindness and professionalism!

We moved Mom into her new apartment in late August. Unfortunately Dad passed away the week after she moved in. It was a terrible time for our family. Lynn Walsh saw to every detail. She followed up and helped resolve every issue we had. It's only been a couple months but Mom has new friends and is even playing bridge again. She is very happy and comfortable in her new home thanks to Lynn, Shireen and rest of the staff at Arbour Square.

I have lived here for a year and a half. The management is very friendly and helpful , especially Lynn Walsh who shows and rents the apartments! Being in the apartment I'm in, I hear her as she tours perspective renters. She is friendly, knowledgeable and is always going above and beyond! She is a true asset to this facility. I also must praise Shireen K. Our manager, she is constantly on the move, a veritable Jack of all Trades! I don't know where these two get the energy!! Chuck G.

My grandfather went from being discouraged about the move to senior living to completely enamored with his new apartment. His kids laugh that he's basically chasing them out the door so that he can get to dinner with his friends. He loves that the staff know his breakfast order and it's hot and ready for him when he arrives. My son is a huge fan of the arcade room and is trying to master Ski Ball. That area is such a gift to families with young kids who might be nervous about seeing their loved ones in a new place.

I can’t say enough about this place. It has so much to offer: movie theater, pub, game room, diner, store, hairdresser, great nursing staff and social workers, and more. Everyone is so friendly, even the front desk welcomes you. A big shout out to Lynn Walsh who has gone above and beyond to make accommodations for my father in law! I almost wanted to move in myself!! Dad is very happy and loves watching the planes take off and land. Dad also raves about the food and coffee. It is comforting to know he is in good hands. The price is right too.

I have been to Arbour Square at West Chester twice. The first time was for a tour by myself where I met Kendra and Michelle. I liked it so much I brought my grandmother back and met Christine. They were all great! All three of them made us feel so welcomed and at home.

I toured here with my Grandmother who absolutely loved it. The food was amazing! The apartments were spacious and bright. And all the staff treated us great. We will definitely be back when the time is right for her to move in. Would highly recommend Arbour Square.

Honestly the best facility in the area! We are just 3 weeks in to the Memory Care area but I have seen them all and by far this place has them all beat. I hope the high standards continue and the current staff remains because they are the key to the success of the facility.
