I do not know what we would have done without The Phoenix at Union Hill. My mother moved into independent living over 2 and half years ago and this year she had to move to memory care. The staff at The Phoenix has supported my family through so many ups and downs. They have held our hand through every emergency situation and major decision with my mom. We cannot thank them enough… from Clayton, Kay, India, Maria, Nia, Connie, Mindy, Jennifer, Ryan, Theresa, Cindy …the team is beyond incredible!

I am very excited to write this review about the Phoenix At Union Hill. I am a 63 old woman who never thought she would need to live in assisted-living at this age, but sometimes surgeries go wrong and you have to reach out for help. I could no longer live alone. I went from being in a wheelchair, to living in assisted-living to progressing to a walker and ready for independent living. I was referred to the Phoenix At Union Hill through a former staff member that had recently joined the staff here and told me "Sandra this is the place you need to be!" I scheduled a tour and was welcome by Jennifer Udy, Sr Exec. Director and Teresa Cohn, Community Engagement Director. We immediately developed a bond & friendship. I have never felt so warmly welcomed by any administrative staff. I realized I had new friends from day one. in addition, I was introduced to Janice Kimber, Program & Outreach Director ( also known as our incredible art and activity director). I have been here for two months in the independent living and I have never felt like I have found my home before this move. The food is definitely restaurant quality and I want to personally thank Manny Santana, the executive restaurant director and Robert Diaz, the food and beverage Director; they make sure every resident is being taken care of and the restaurant quality food is definitely a 5 star rating!!! If you're looking for independent living, assisted-living, or memory care for yourself or a family member you must must come take a tour and check out the Phoenix At Union Hill in Canton, GA I again have never felt so welcomed and loved and we have so many fun activities!!! There's always something for everyone the entire staff here goes beyond what is required of them to make us feel as we are home and all family. I plan on living here for a long, long time, thank you to each and every one of the servers, Casey & and all the Housekeeping staff, and all the transportation drivers. There's just not enough words to say this is the place you wanna live!!

The staff, down to the last person, has been attentive and eager to make sure everything runs smoothly. If anything needs to be done, it is handled swiftly and professionally. Edited 3/1/2024 Although changes have been implemented, the food/meals continue to be an issue. My parents eat very little of what is served and we constantly supplement their diet with food from the grocery. It's a shame to pay for meals but yet have to spend for groceries. We ran into significant issues with med-management program and prescriptions filled by Guardian. We have spent a lot of time sorting it out. If you don't have the bandwidth to closely monitor charges and administration of meds, be very careful about signing up for this program. Phoenix has been working with us on the excessive charges, which we appreciate very much but it would have been less stressful to not have encountered these issues. My sisters and I chose Phoenix at Union Hill for Mom & Dad after touring several assisted living facilities. We received a very warm welcome from Teresa (we LOVE her!) and she took time to answer all our questions and provided the assurance we needed to move forward with our decision that it was the right time to make this move. After seeing the 2-bedroom floorplan we knew it was perfect for our parents and that we had found their next home. What we didn't know at the time was that the staff would be as genuine and warm as Teresa. It took no time for staff to recognize us and greet us by name when we visited. If there is anything going on with Mom & Dad, they do not hesitate to provide a quick update in the hallways. My parents have made some wonderful new friends at Phoenix, and I truly believe this was a great move for them. They enjoy getting a cocktail in the pub with their new friends and sharing meals together in the dining room. There are far too many special staff to mention them all by name, but a huge thank you to Teresa, Brandon, Jamal, Ruthie, Sheri, Valerie, Nick, and Wanda for their welcoming smiles and genuine care for our parents' well-being. The only negative has been that Mom & Dad don't always love the meals. However, it was just announced that changes are being made to the menu/meal plans and I am excited to hear great reviews from Mom & Dad. THANK YOU PHOENIX for providing a caring and safe home for our parents!

My mother-in-law has really enjoyed living at the Phoenix. The staff is very kind and she enjoys the food and the restaurant feel Of the dining room. They clean her room weekly Of the dining room. They clean her room weekly and take the trash out daily. She feels safe there and we love knowing she has a great place to live. She has made many friends on the property.

We moved my in-laws in a couple months ago. The staff is so caring and such a family atmosphere. They have done so much to make them feel welcomed and comfortable in their new home. We are so pleased to have chosen The Phoenix at Union Hill for moms new home. The facility is beautiful, bright & with all the conveniences & amenities anyone could wish for. Moms new home is a lovely one bedroom in Independent Living with a great porch for her to enjoy the outdoors and her many pots of plants. She has a lovely view out across the nearby farm field. Indoors she has plenty of space to stretch out & enjoy with her kitty. Shes got a full sized stainless steel fridge (not all senior living apartments have this!)with water and ice in the door, microwave, range, disposal and dishwasher. She loves having a separate space with closable doors that hold the full sized washer & dryer units. Hard flooring in all the living areas & a short nap carpet in the bedroom are all stylish to meet her taste & SAFE to make us feel confident about her safety. Theres light housekeeping included weekly to allow her to have the clean home she has always prided herself on without the physical challenges of scrubbing & pushing about a vacuum-both a big deal we never consider as we age. Two meals per day are included in her rent & the food in the restaurant is so yummy that we often make specific arrangements to visit and have lunch or dinner with her! More than any THING though is the staff. Every single person working at The Phoenix at Union Hill is personable and caring. From the front desk concierge, to the housekeeping & kitchen staff, to the maintenance guys and Josh the Executive Director, they work hard to ensure the residents are safe and happy every day-and they always do it with a smile on their face. Special shout outs to Bailey, Emily, Blake, Teresa, and Jose who come in contact with mom most days and who have helped me feel confident that she will be able to live here safe and happy for as long as possible.

Although the Phoenix at Union Hill offers assisted living and memory care, my wife and I live in the independent living section of the facility. We moved in on June 1 within a few days of when they opened and from day one everyone on the staff here has been nothing short of fantastic! Josh, the executive director, has done a fantastic job of selecting members of the staff. His main criteria for selecting staff was whether they had a fantastic attitude toward their job and the people they serve and he could not have done a better job of doing that. We have been amazed that no matter what their normal function is, anytime you have contact with a staff member they always ask whether theres anything they can do for you, and regardless of whether its what they normally are assigned to do they will do it. They are always pleasant and extremely helpful. The facilities here are absolutely beautiful. The chefs prepare terrific meals and the servers are all outstanding! There are many activities for the residents here. There are facilities such as exercise rooms, game rooms, outdoor activities, etc. for those who want to participate, and an entertainment director who is quite spectacular! We moved here from another state to be closer to one of our children and his family, but we have also gained a lot of friends with the other residents here. We are not sure what else we could have hoped for in selecting a place to live. The Phoenix at Union Hill is truly fantastic!

I searched several facilities while I was in a panic to move my Mom from the hospital. I was told by her doctor that her dementia was getting worse and we needed to find a facility that had memory care. The Phoenix at Union Hill was so accommodating. They allowed my mom to live her first month in one of their respice rooms until we could get all of her stuff transitioned over to her new apartment. We just got her moved in her new apartment this week. She loves it there! They have bingo, trivia, movie night, music, and art. It is set schedule every day. This is great for her dementia. Finally, the staff that works there are like family. They are all so caring and go out of their way to help my mom. I am so glad we found The Phoenix at Union Hill 🙂

While there are many options in Canton for Assisted Living communities, for those in the market, its crucial to look for a community that is operated by an Executive Director who is experienced, well-versed in the needs of the residents and knows full well how to successfully operate an Assisted Living community. Josh of Union Hill is all of the above. I was more than impressed.
