I would make a request that the common areas are cleaned more frequently, specifically vacuuming the carpeted areas and hallways where on the floors where residents reside. Also, the house keeping for residents could be a bit more thorough. Otherwise, the staff has been accommodating and friendly.

Walking in to Westmont senior living I had a really warm welcome, everyone I talked to was super nice and friendly. The building is super clean, bright and super spacious. I talked to Tami and she was great, super knowledgeable, friendly she made me feel very comfortable and welcomed.

My father and I toured Westmont about a year ago. I found the facility to be clean and welcoming. My dad wasn't ready to move into an assisted living facility at the time, but when he was recently hospitalized, I stopped at Westmont one day to inquire about possibly moving him there after he recovered from his illness. I spoke to Kami Nordby who was incredibly informative and welcoming. I told her I wasn't sure if my dad would be ready to move from his home to an assisted living facility, and she was nothing but kind. If and when my dad is ready to move into an assisted living facility, I know he would be very comfortable at Westmont. But even if we don't end up moving him there, I am so touched that Kami went above & beyond by providing me with helpful information and being incredibly kind during a very difficult time for my family.

It is almost time for my father to move into assisted-living. He has early onset of Alzheimer’s .I wanted to be proactive in my search for senior living and through an organization called caring.com, I was recommended to see Westmont of La Mesa. I made an appointment and met with Tamara. She was compassionate, lovely, and an expert, in my opinion. The facility is beautiful and very clean. It has so much to offer. I looked at the studio apartment. It was spacious and well equipped with essentials. The dining room is set up restaurant style and it is wonderful. The outside areas are beautiful and comfortable. Pets are allowed and that is a must for my father. The pool area with exercise equipment is well set up. There is much more they offer and I was so impressed with Tamaras presentation and knowledge. She answered questions that I never thought of. She made me feel the compassion, that my father absolutely deserves, was present there. I very much recommend a tour of this senior home when you are ready for your search.

The property and staff are outstanding. Briercrest Park right behind the Westmont is a really nice outdoor space for family and residents. Having eaten the food, I can attest that it is delicious. Everything is very well maintained.

Trina has introduced me to multiple new art / craft projects and I’ve really enjoyed 95% of them. I’ve even ordered kits of several types to do on my own. Trina gives clear directions or instructions and repeats as many times as the different residents need. She is also extremely patient with the more difficult residents.

Overall, I’m happy living here. The residents and staff are all very friendly. Unfortunately, they are under-staffed. This causes some services to be slow and the staff to feel overwhelmed at times.

My experience with Westmont was very positive. I came to stay long enough to regain my strength from a septic shock experience. It took about 7 months, but the improvement in health was obvious. My desire to move to a more independent environment, at much less cost was important to me. I will always feel that Westmont provided that needed transition so I could take care of myself again.

I can’t say enough about Westmont and the Staff. The facility is well maintained, always clean. When you walk in , it looks like you’re going to dine in somewhere for a great meal or social event . The staff, every single staff member that I have met has been absolutely fantastic! They always have a smile on their faces to great you from the time you walk in the door till you walk out. I attended the Easter egg hunt today. It was awesome. All the residents were super nice and looked genuinely happy. The place is huge and I saw tons of amenities. I wouldn't mind retiring here when I get old. I will add however, the Easter egg hunt was not very well managed. It started early so many kids showed up later and missed out. Other than that this place rocks.

The entire edifice is super-clean. All of the staff are super-nice. I'm a foodie and I rate the quality and taste of the food from the Westmont at 3 stars. Granted there is a budget. However, the service is very slow, suggesting the kitchen has is understaffed - 2 stars. Pharmacy service is good -4 stars I am dissatisfied with available TV programming and the impossibility of expanding even if I pay for it -1star. The front desk answers the phone about 75% when called - 3 stars. PT-OT is excellent so far - 5 stars. The selection of movies shown in the Helix theater are mostly oldies but goodies- my experience there is limited - tentative 4 stars?

Wesmont of La Mesa is such a wonderful community. The staff do such a great job taking care of their residents and their community. The Westmont management work with my siblings and I to help mom through this transition of moving mom from her home of over 60 years into Westmont. Difficult at first, but mom loves it now. Mom loves the food, the chef and the dining room staff. Highly recommend for families looking to place their loved ones in a clean, safe, and friendly Senior community. From their amenities, activities, and dining. It is all such a wonderful experience! Westmont staff and facilities give my siblings and myself peace of mind that mom is in a safe and caring environment.

This review is related to Jonathan, Westmont La Mesa's chef. My client had arranged for a lunch for family visiting from out of town and they were an hour late due to traffic, so it was the tail end of the lunch hour. Jonathan, who is their chef, not a waiter, gave us outstanding attention. Jonathan ended up not only cooking a wonderful meal, but also waiting on us with such kindness and attention. He said, we all help each other out. He showed the true spirit of teamwork there and his demeanor was an uplift for the whole table. It was a pleasure dining there.

I interviewed and scouted so many assisted living homes and Westmont La Mesa was by far the best of ALL OF THEM! The building is brand new, everything is sparkling clean, but most of all the service is always personal and immediate. We needed assistance right away due to exigent circumstances, and the sales team with Izzy, and Executive Director Kim were nothing short of amazing. Took care of every request and need and were made our grandfather feel so welcome. Every last touch and personal detail--this is a family home, NOT a "facility." If you don't want a place that is a big corporation and you want a personal touch, Westmont La Mesa is the place. They gave us every cell phone for all caregivers, all the way to the executive director. When they say they will take care of you, they mean it!

A beautiful place and staff that seems to try hard. The negative is that the processes in place to make the dining room experience a good one are extremely lacking. The food is often incorrect, delivered cold and the description on the menu does not match what is being served. My mother-in-law has been at Westmont since May, and unfortunately we are growing more and more weary of the ineptitude of the lack of training and the processes put in place for the staff. We have had meetings with the head CEO and with the head of the kitchen but nothing seems to change. Considering that it is one of the two premier assisted living facilities in East County San Diego, the service in the dining room and food options should be better. In the last few days my mother-in-law has been ill and needs to have her meals delivered to her. It has been a whirlwind of late or missing meals, cold or burnt or dry food, and the right hand not knowing what the left is doing. We filled out a complete meal plan for her yesterday and turned it into the kitchen. Someone appeared at her door this morning asking what she wants for breakfast. The processes that they have in place are not working well...

I’ve been to many assisted living facilities and this place has a bunch of hardworking staff who truly care for the residents. Their rooms are clean, cozy and spacious making it comfortable for the residents. Definitely worth checking out.

I can't say enough about Community relations manager Ms. Jamie Frazier here ! After my mom had hip replacement surgery in June it was obvious she'd do better no longer living alone. So as a friend of hers had nothing but positive comments after her six months here I made Westmont my first stop in search for mom's transition too. Jamie was incredibly flexible, attending to me as I stopped by with no appointment one day to give a quick tour and all living arrangement options. Today we had a good lunch in the dining room and came away SO impressed!!! First impression here is hotel living.... Not a institutional "home".

This property is amazing. Felt like being at a 5 star resort. I would love for my grandfather to live there, it’s a safe and secure space with the ability to come and go as you please. My tour of the facility left a lasting impression, the director of marketing isn’t simply selling a space she’s giving you an experience, making you feel comfortable and heard. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for an amazing retirement community for their parents/grandparents.
