We had a short period of time to find an Assisted Living home for our mom. We toured a number of places which seemed ok, and even came with some good recommendations, but once we toured Camellia, it was very obvious that this was the place for my mom (what a relief!). Our second visit was during happy hour and even though she can barely walk, my mom asked if it was ok for her to go up and dance! Seeing her dance with that smile on her face meant the world to me, and our Sales Director Victoria said it absolutely made her day. Victoria was absolutely wonderful! She is honest, compassionate, friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. There is a reason she has been there so long. All the people we met during our visits shared those same traits. This place really fosters that type of culture. My mom has only been there a few weeks, but Camellia has certainly lived up to my high expectations so far. All the staff we have dealt with have been so friendly, outgoing and helpful! From the people at the front desk (Karen, Rachael), Fitness coordinator Emily, The Health and Wellness Staff led by Nurse Travoya (so nice and helpful) Kim and others, Andrea who has helped with Laundry and bedding, and therapists Stephanie and Kim and many others. My brother and sister share these same feelings, but the most important aspect is that my mom is loving it! She is already doing many activities thanks to the encouragement and friendliness of the staff. If you are looking for a place for a loved one, be sure to visit Camellia!!!! Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Camellia!!!

I visited Camellia at Deerwood about two years ago in an effort to find a future home for my mom. My first impression upon walking through the door was "this looks like a Disney World hotel!" And seriously, through, and through the employees, the apartments, the service, the dining, the pool, everything was at the highest standards! I'm pleased to report that my mom moved in to Camellia at Deerwood in February 2024. The staff has been so kind and welcoming, as have been all of the residents. She is making new friends every day loves her apartment, and feels very safe. I would highly recommend this community. Suzanne Simon has been wonderful throughout the process. She is always checking in how things are going, even though her job is sales, and she has clearly already made the sale. Do not hesitate to explore Camellia at Deerwood if you are looking for independent, living, assisted-living, or member care for a loved one. We are beyond pleased with our decision!

My husband and I toured Camellia at Deerwood with Suzanne a few months ago in search of an independent living community for my husband's mother. Suzanne spent a lot of time with us making sure all of questions and needs were addressed. We toured other senior independent living communities in the area, and we kept coming back to Camellia. We were in search of a vibrant, active group setting and felt the activities and lively atmosphere at Camellia was a good match for my husbands's mother. We are happy to say that we moved her into Camelia at Deerwood three months ago and she couldn't be happier! The staff are very involved and attentive to the residence needs. The other residents have gone out of their way to welcome my mother-in-law and make her feel comfortable. Suzanne was very communicative regarding the coordination of our mother-in-law's out of state move and has kindly followed up with us since she's moved in to make sure everything is going smoothly. We can't recommend Suzanne's services and Camellia at Deerwood highly enough!

We found the perfect home for my mother-in-law! From the moment we walked through their doors to her actual move-in we were treated with kindness, care and smiles! Suzanne is one of the sweetest individuals. Not only is she extremely professional and helpful but she made us (most importantly my mother-in-law) feel so at ease with her caring qualities and smile. We knew within minutes this is where we wanted her to live. I feel Suzanne went above and beyond answering questions in helping us make this life decision. As we walked through the facility that initial day and two other times everyone we came in contact with was very helpful. The resident themselves were happy and welcoming. My husband and I live out of town so we're extremely grateful that Camillia has welcomed my mother-in-law with open arms like family!

Camelia has been home to my mom for nearly a decade. They have been fabulous in very aspect of her care. We are so thankful for the attentive and responsive staff. They truly care. The facility is well maintained, the food is very good and the pricing is very reasonable for their excellent service. As an update (2023), my mom moved into their memory unit this past year and has really be thriving there. The care is off the charts terrific. Such a kind and caring staff!!!

While recuperating from recent surgery and the sale of my house, I have been inquiring at some independent,assisted and memory care living facilities. Hands down, Victoria Proctor met with me, brought me information and meals showing great compassion. We made arrangements for me to visit the community. Yes, it's beautiful, and the staff I was able to meet were equally genuine. The clincher was seeing many of the residents with smiles as we interacted with them. A building can be beautiful but the atmosphere of the staff is what makes it a great community. I'm so looking forward to moving there and being a part of this lifestyle.

We knew once we visited that Camellia at Deerwood was the right place for our mother. After visiting several independent living homes in the area, she chose Camellia due in part to its amenities including the availability of dining, activities and transportation, but also to how welcoming everyone was to us during our first visit and during the time we moved mom in. The staff have been super helpful and gracious, and all of the residents that we have spoken to were friendly. Several commented on how happy they were to be there and reassured us we were leaving our mother in good hands. This has given us incredible peace of mind that our mother would be welcomed into a safe and comfortable environment.

Hi, I've been told that there is a negative review with my signature for Camellia written June 11th or 12th while I was in upstate NY at my brothers funeral. Needless to say I am angry! To use my name is theft and to use it negatively is lying. I lived very happily at Camellia for several years and moved because I could move to a lovely independent facility one mile from my family members, not because I no longer liked Camellia. Granted Camellia has had their problems BUT if you fix the problems that is part of life. Camellia is fixing their problems. My new facility less than 2 years old just went thru a major problem with water pressure it is being fixed as I write this. Part of Life. Who ever used my name - Please do not do it again!! After touring several Independent Senior Living centers in the area, we did a wonderful tour with Victoria at Camilla. She provided great information and was caring and engaging. There were so many residents who were friendly and greeted us as we walked through. Our Dad really liked this facility and choose it for its friendliness, dining and several amenities including a pool, barber shop and PT area. After moving there, Victoria continued to help my Dad transition to his new apartment. He has met many new friends and is enjoying his new residence.

My mother-in-law has been living at Camellia at Deerwood for 10 months. She moved from Atlanta after 40+ years and it was a difficult decision to leave her friends, hometown behind. But, fortunately, she has had a wonderful experience with Camellia. She's very happy with her apartment, the staff, food, activities, amenities, field trips, etc. and, most of all, loves the fact that she can be as active and social as she wants or have quiet, private time in her personal apartment. She finds the staff and residents to be very warm and friendly. Because of her positive experience, I have another family member now considering a move to Camellia.

I cannot recommend this retirement community enough. From A to Z this is the perfect community. It is modern, clean and truly feels like home. I went on a tour to look for an Assisted Living facility for my parents and I had the pleasure of being given a tour by the fabulous Valentin. I want to acknowledge Valentin who treated my mother and I like royalty and gave us a first-class tour of the community. He was extremely friendly, patient and knowledgeable. I believe Valentin is an asset to Camellia at Deerwood and truly the perfect person to represent this wonderful retirement community. He pretty much had us at hello with his excellent people skills and knowledge about the community. After our tour there was no question that this is a place that my parent's would be happy to call their next home.Again, I cannot recommend Camellia at Deerwood enough and wanted to give a shout out to the amazing staff member Valentin.

Very nice place. Helpful, caring, very clean. It has four floors for residents. It also has memory care. This place has mobile to take residents to grocery stores certain days, they will take them to Drs appt. Camilla has assisted living, up to a certain level. After that certain level they will transfer you to different level of care that will be able to give more assistance. It's off of 295 and Baymeadows go to Sweetwater. If you get time stop by and have a look if you are looking for an assisted living for your parents or they are looking for one.

I should also qualify that I have visited a number of these establishments and after discreetly interviewing a number of residents at this facility, the answers were unanimously positive. Those answers as well as my own opinions/ observations are why I give Camellia at Deerwood, five stars. Camellia is a very welcoming facility with so much to offer. My family was impressed with the number of activities, services available and meals. The staff is wonderful, patient, friendly and is there when you need them. We notice when visiting how friendly and happy the other people are living there. A special note for Suzanne Simon who was our primary contact when we were looking for a place and she was excellent. Suzanne was very knowledgeable and offered her expertise to help make the move smooth and comfortable. She introduced us to the staff and was key to reducing the anxiety for my family and mother in law. I highly recommend Camellia at Deerwood and so glad we found my mother in law a nice place to live for the rest of her life. Please ask for Suzanne!

Camellia is such a blessing for those of us trying to navigate a very difficult time for an aging family member. My parents lived in assisted living for almost 7 years and had a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment. There were many activities available that they enjoyed plus playing bridge with some of the other residents. My mother began to decline last year and required much more attention. I could not have been more impressed with the availability of the nurse supervisor and nurses to help in any way needed. Everyone was always so loving even when my Mom was difficult to handle. In addition, the rest of the staff (front desk, food workers, and the drivers) went above and beyond to help. My Mom passed away about a month ago, and I cant compliment Camellia enough for helping us relocate my Dad to their memory care unit. Everyone was so compassionate and bent over backwards to make the transition as easy for us as possible. Camellia really does feel like home for my Dad. We are looking forward to getting to know the staff in memory care. I am sure they wont disappoint.

My friend has lived at Camellia for two years. I was so impressed with the care that she received, that I decided to put my sister on the list for an apartment in Memory Care. The staff in memory care have been able to get her engaged in activities and her lifestyle has blossomed.Interacting with the directors in all departments has been a very positive experience; from the Director of Health and Wellness to the Director of Food Services and all those in between. The directors have always put me in a comfort zone, when various issues needed attention. Also, the residents assistants are very helpful; they are all very special people.I highly praise Renea McGrath and the staff for their professionalism and compassionate care, especially during the challenges during the pandemic. They have all gone beyond the call of duty.

Since the pandemic Camellia has been a safe, caring place to be. It is amazing how staff came together and thought of our EVERY need, not just safety. During our mandatory lock down weve received 3 meals a day, served to our apartment, trash service, laundry service, mail delivery , in-house deliveries, entertainment via our in house TV station, also entertainment by staff via traveling Happy Hour. Camellia is now lowly and safely opening. My family asked at the beginning of the Corona if I wanted to leave Camellia. I could honestly tell them there is no place I would feel safer! Now the fun slowly begins- getting back to our routine of cruising without ever leaving port. I have been here over 6 years!
