My grandmother has been living here for over three years and recently celebrated her 100th birthday. **Kyroni** Kyroni at the front desk helped me plan my grandmother’s birthday celebration, and made everything super easy and smooth! She reserved a private room for the event and said we could spill out into the dining room with as much space as we needed. She contacted all the people in charge of various aspects of the planning, got ahold of a TV screen on wheels for us, and made sure all my questions were answered. She really made it easy! **Holly** On the day of the party, I was surprised and thrilled to find out that Holly was there to assist me with anything I needed to set up for the party! She truly went above and beyond”she put together the balloon arch and even blew up balloons with lung power when my electric blower didn’t work! Holly cordoned off the area we needed, moved around tables, came up with items we needed like plates and an ice bucket, etc. She totally came in clutch for our last minute preparations and did it all with a smile! We couldn’t have pulled off the party without her! I was truly thrilled with how the party turned out. It was just what I had envisioned to honor my grandmother’s centennial, and we couldn’t have done it without Holly and Kyroni. In general, Merrill Gardens is a very pleasant place, the menu has lots of great choices, the facilities are clean and pleasant, there is a nice variety of activities planned every day, and it seems like the staff take good care of my grandmother. I hope I get to live here too when I’m old enough!

Everyone here treats me very well. A pleasant home away from home! The servers in the dining room and my housekeeper Angie are wonderful. The front desk staff (Mary, Jeanette, Kylie) are always helpful. Courtney is dependable and caring. Jill is a star personality and waits on everyone. Dave on maintenance is so friendly and supportive. Lily is an eager and hardworking assistant. Elizabeth is very true to her working convictions.

Courtney Has really helped Merrill Garden’s library! She magically transports outgoing books to the store which generated revenue for new materials for our shelves. She responds to requests cheerfully, immediately and completely without complaint. We have named her an honorary member of the Library Committee! Her service should be rewarded. Maria Is exceptionally good at her job in housekeeping! She cleans thoroughly and efficiently, cheerfully and without complaint. Residents can rely on her to leave their apartments clean and fresh every week without fail. Especially this respondent, who is the owner of two cats! We feel privileged to have her support! Cadence Makes mealtime fun and enjoyable. His service is excellent and professional. He is accurate and thoughtful. Charlotte and Eddie are a wonderful team! It takes a special blend of personality to manage such a disparate clientele. Both my dad and grandma have moved into Merrill Gardens, so we have become familiar with both the independent living and assisted living areas. We have had an excellent experience, from the management on down to every single staff member we have interacted with. Further, the residents there are all happy, and have really welcomed my own relatives. In particular, I want to call out the manager (Rob) as well as some particularly helpful folks in the kitchen including Chef Brandon, and waitstaff Jeff, Lilly, and Charlotte. These folks have been helpful and friendly every single day, and went above and beyond for a family birthday celebration for my grandma's 99th. Highly recommend this facility!

I have been a resident at Merrill Gardens of Tacoma for over two years now, and I absolutely love it. The staff are incredibly caring and attentive, and they always go the extra mile to make sure you feel comfortable and happy. There are also plenty of fun activities and events to keep everyone engaged. The facilities are also beautiful and well-maintained. Mom hesitated leaving her beautiful home but the stress of maintaining it to her standards was impacting the whole family. Linda Lee has been accommodating and flexible with Mom’s requests. Now 8 months later she has friends new and old. Library guild. Knitting group. Daily fitness class, Wednesday sing along, fiber arts group, Hand and Foot (cards) group. New neighbors. Weekly bible study. Foster kittens. Friend to watch church on line each week. We visit at least weekly for Lunch $7 dinner $10 great grands free! The wait staff all know her name. As safe and happy place to enjoy her final years. We are blessed.

As a resident at Merrill Gardens for just over one month I am brimming with enthusiasm for my neww home. The relaxed ambiance of freinds hits you when entering the front door and whenever you interact with others here. The meals are delicious with many choices available. The servers are great at memorizing your likes and dislikes and provide quick service nearly every time. An amazing number of activities are provided to meet our our likes and interests . Besides providing needed transportation to the bank, postoffice, and shopping centers they make available trips to near by restaurants and visits to interesting places such as Northwest trek, Vashon island by ferry, museums, parks, and conservatories. Even a trip to Mt. Rainier. To top this all off the personable general Manger Rob Brock, besides making himself availbe in his office, he gives weekly talks to all the residents about the status of projects and general things noticed around the building. He definitely has our safety and quality of life in mind. He closes with a question and answer period every time, answering our questions with thought and care. Also craft classes, lectures , and entertainment fill the calendar. I'll be content living at Merrill Gardens for the rest of my life!

I would highly recommend anyone looking for a wonderful place to live look at Merrill Gardens in Tacoma! I looked for two and a half years before walking in to this community, and was very pleased to see all the activities going on with happy people. When I walked into the two bedroom apartment that was shown to me, I knew 5 feet in that this was the place I would call home. After looking at the apartment and saying YES, I had a short conversation with Linda, many residents came and introduced themselves..a wonderful treat. After living here for three years I find the personnel very kind and caring and always wanting to make us happy. I could not ask for a nicer place to live. It is clean, it is a happy place, and the food is GREAT. I am very happy living here and plan to spend the rest of my days here!

Five or six years ago I checked out all the retirement places available in Tacoma at that time. I decided on Merrill Gardens at Tacoma and put my name on the reservation list (I wasn't ready to move yet). I have lived here a little over four years now and this is the place for me. There were four reasons why I chose MG. 1- Anytime dining. I am too independent to be told I must eat at 8, 12 and 5. The food here is very good, that is a plus. And the young servers are so kind and patient. Just plain sweet. 2- Washer/dryers in the apartment (except for the Studios) and that makes it like home. 3- Air-conditioning. I had it. and used it. in my Condo in Tacoma. 4- Activities. Lots of choices. We can do as many, or as few, things that we want to do. We can have fun. Lots of entertainment from the outside also. I have made wonderful friends here and that is a real blessing when we are older. All in all, I'm very happy and content here. I made the right decision.

Five/six years ago I started looking at retirement homes. I checked out all the local homes available at the time. I decided on Merrill Gardens and signed up to be called in the future (I wasn't ready to move). I have now lived here a bit over four years, and it is wonderful. I made the right choice. The food is amazing. Brandon is a great chef. I've made special friends which could have been hard to do at an older age. I really am very happy here. Three reasons for choosing MG. It had anytime dining. That was important to me. I didn't want to be told I would eat art 8. 12 and 5. I'm too independent. MG also has washer/dryers in each apartment (Studio apartments use resident dryers down the hall). And it was air-conditioned. I had air-conditioning in my home in Tacoma and used it. All in all, Merrill Gardens is the right place for me. It's a blessing to be happy and content when I am old!

Merrill Gardens at Tacoma is a welcoming, friendly, happy place to live. Residents care about each other, and the staff cares about us. There are lots of activities to participate in and programs to attend within our lovely building, as well as scenic drives and outings to specific places in our Merrill Gardens small bus. Our dining room offers delicious food selections served to us by the nicest young people you could hope for. I am so glad I moved to Merrill Gardens.

I moved into Merrill Gardens at Tacoma four and a half years ago. My active life here with my many new friends is better than I could have imagined. The staff is friendly, supportive and open to suggestions from residents and their families. Activities are fun and mentally stimulating and there are frequent opportunities for off-site excursions. The food here is far and above any other senior community that I have heard of, delicious and attractively served in a restaurant style dining room that is open from 7 to 7 every day. I can't say enough in praise of our young serving staff in the dining room. They often remember our food and beverage preferences and are happy to meet our individual preferences and needs. It is fun to have these fine young people in our lives. Life here is so much more interesting and stimulating than living alone. I can't think of any better place to be.

If you are looking for assisted living for a family member, this is the place! My parents moved in over 2 years ago and the experience has been top notch! After losing my Mom in July 2023, the staff truly took care of us as if we were their own family. They have been so good to my Dad as he transitions in his life without my Mom. The GM, Rob, is very approachable and any concerns are addressed and taken care of promptly! They have an amazing activities director, Scout, who goes above and beyond daily! It is sometimes a difficult decision to move family out of their homes and I am beyond thankful we chose Merrill Gardens to meet the needs of our family! I have also had the opportunity to be there daily for the past 2 years and I have made friends with so many sweet residents. It truly is a family environment that I am forever thankful for! Kari

After touring 3 other homes (all of which my mom rejected), we visited MG of Tacoma & my mom said, "I would live here." What a relief that was for me considering that she wasn't really keen on moving. We signed the contract that day & Linda Lee, in admissions, was excellent to work with - she made things easy for us & let us pick the move in date that worked best for us. Rob, the manager, came in to greet us and has continued to say hello whenever we see him - he truly leads by example. The staff is friendly & the residents pretty much smile & say hello - so refreshing. The rooms are well-lit and my mom's studio is roomy enough for a small dinner table & a couch! There are plenty of amenities & although my mom is used to keeping to herself, she is happy to be there and I am thrilled for her.

Moving my folks to Merrill Gardens-Tacoma on Rosemount Circle was the BEST move we made. It's beautiful, very clean, and the staff care so much for the residents. I looked at several residences before I found the perfect retirement home-Merrill Gardens Tacoma! General Mgr Rob has done an outstanding job recruiting the fantastic staff who cater to every need. And Scout keeps the residents so involved with loving activities! And the chef makes sure the food is excellent! When it's my time to move to a retirement community, I'm going to Merrill Garden Tacoma!

Enjoyed Easter brunch on 4/16/22 and the food was INCREDIBLE!!! High quality food. Asked my mom who lives there if they serve this same food every day and they do! Kudos!!!! Eggs were perfect, salmon was cooked to perfection with mango salsa on the side and the prime rib was yummmm!

Merrill Gardens Tacoma is a wonderful retirement community that provides its residences with a beautiful campus, exquisite dining, loads of activities and the apartments are top notch. This would and should be expected for what the residences pay, which is comparable to other retirement communities of this caliber. What takes Merrill Gardens Tacoma to the 5 Star level is the staff, from housekeeping, to the front desk, the nursing staff to the General Manager. When my Dad passed, the sympathy and compassion expressed by the staff was sincere and heartfelt. Mom is still there and when we go visit it is always enjoyable to catch up with the staff as well. Bottom line, the staff at Merrill Gardens Tacoma have become a second family to my wife and me!

Both my mom and aunt are there and could not love it more. The staff are all 100% amazing, Linda on intake, Susan for Concierge, and Gail the nurse have been just so amazing originally with my mom and now with my aunt. My family and I looked at the facility several times and met with the Director and Sales Manager. They were both so helpful and assisted us with navigating the system, and assisted us with finding the right facility for our mother. We really appreciated everything they did, and the time they gave us, even after we determined my mother could not live there. They are extremely knowledgable and very straight forward. I wish Merrill Gardens would have been the right fit for mom, but we would not have been successful in finding a place for her without their help.

We just moved my 92 yr old dad to Merrill Gardens 3 weeks ago. He seems to be adjusting to apartment living. He has be participating in some of the activities, enjoys meeting new people and says the food is quite good. Our family feels that he is in good hands. The staff has been very warm and welcoming. My Mom lived at Merrill Garden in Tacoma for over 7 years & was well cared for every day. Mike has been a very caring manager. Both Colleen & Megan were very thorough nurses. Susan & Vonnie always made my mom feel very special. Carolyn keep a good eye on the accounts & the kitchen staff was always very polite. Virginia & the other office staff were great. Surprised to find there are not more reviews for Tacoma's Merrill Gardens, but I will testify that our Mom is approaching 90, and has spent the past three years at Merrill Gardens and claims her (independent living) lifestyle is like living on an elegant cruise ship that happens to remain in port forever.... wonderful staff, wonderful food, wonderful accommodations, and a wealth of activities, concerts, varied events. She does take note that her happiness is largely because she has the support of family that provide regular visits, and that is an element that is impossible for any senior living center to provide... but for us (Mom's family) Merrill Gardens provides us the freedom and comfort to know Mom is within a caring and very well managed facility that provides a wonderful home for Mom between our weekly visits.
