This is a wonderful community. My first experience with them was when my Mama was going to move to Dallas and live with me. She had an eating disorder and they assured me they would find food she wanted, cook for her and never let her go hungry. They have amazing service fir the residents and families.

Not only is the location perfect for hospitals, shopping and more, but the staff actually cares deeply about the residents. They have lots of activities in which almost everyone participates. My mom and dad were both happy there. She passed almost 3 years ago, but he remains...and loves it. As his children, we have no worries that he is being well cared for and is happy.

I met Laura Black (Director of Sales) with Sunrise Senior Living Plano location at our church (Prestonwood) Dementia Support Group monthly meetings. Laura’s experience with dementia provided insight and encouragement as we transitioned my 91 year old Father who has dementia from his home (Utilized 3rd Party 24 hour care) in Shreveport, LA. We secured a room at the Sunrise of Plano Memory Care facility in January 2025. We trusted Laura guidance as she told us the most challenging time would be the first few weeks of his transition. She was so accurate, but afterwards my Father has adjusted very well. The Sunrise staff has a servants attitude and personally engaged with my Father as they execute everyday the care plan we mutually developed. As for me and my family, we are very pleased with the care my Father has received at the Sunrise of Plano Memory Care location. Also, it’s been rewarding seeing my Father in a safe place and personally connect with many of the other residents. At this stage of my Fathers life we know we made the right decision and grateful for his happiness. Special thanks to Laura Black, Robin Duque (Reminiscence Coordinator), and the supporting staff at Sunrise. At this stage in our lives, caring for a parent or loved one is stressful and overwhelming. Facility came well-recommended to us. We checked out several other places and are glad we decided on Sunrise. From start-to-finish all the staff were gracious and compassionate during my dad's inevitable decline. Their gentle, persistent approach with dementia patients was top-notch, and they handled some very difficult/messy/heart-breaking situations with grace that allowed my father to maintain some semblance of dignity.

I arrived sicker then I've ever been and stayed in my apartment with foods brought to me. I was examined in house by Dr. Rivas and x-rayed by Patrick ? and blood taken by a young lady and for the next ten weeks, evaluated by Kay and Amy, both registered nurses working for Dr. Rivas. I had the flu and Dr. Rivas got me what was needed. My down time was limited to less then a week thanks to the exceptional care given me. Once medically released I had the pleasure of meeting many wonderful people who said they were praying for me. If that doesn't make one feel better is beyond me. Again, I am surrounded by many lovely people who care.

I lost my mom today. She fought Alzheimer’s for six years. Sunrise of Plano was amazing from the moment my mom arrived at Plano till the end. When we knew Alzheimer’s was going to win this fight, the employees constantly checked in on my mom (and family) to see how she was doing and made sure we were ok. Lots of hugs and tears were shed. My mom wasn’t at Sunrise for long but the love everyone showed my mom will never be forgotten by her family. Love to everyone (especially third floor) at Sunrise of Plano!

We were very happy with our mother's experience at Sunrise. Mom was in the Assisted Living wing. We really liked that the rooms were large and there were big closets. A lot of other senior living facilities don't have closets or if they do the closets are very small. The common areas of Sunrise are beautiful. Our Mom liked spending time in the first floor parlor with the numerous book shelves. She also liked the food and the daily activities. We strongly recommend Sunrise for anyone searching for an Assisted Living facility.

Sunrise senior Living of Plano has been a great place for my Mom. I have the confidence she is well taken care of. She has been here for just over a year and with a few minor issues at the beginning that were worked out this has been a great place for her. Robin is fantastic, recently she and another staff member went above and beyond of their normal job responsibilities to ensure a medication mishap was rectified for Mom. We truly appreciated her persistence.Everyone at the front desk is welcoming, helpful and pleasant especially when I bring my dog Rusty in for visits.

When my mom went into senior living and started showing early signs of dementia. My children would always want to go with me and see their nanny. Over the years Robin, always talked about going into the nursing field. However, after she visit my mom a lot she decide she wanted to change her career. She’s done such a wonderful job working with Sunrise over five years. I’m very proud of her with moving up into management to help set a standard to take care of your loved ones, and hopefully be a light for you. Have gone to visit the Sunrise in Plano and was very impressed with her staff and with the care and love she showed your loved ones. Sunrise Plano has been unbelievable for the two years plus my mother has lived there. The loving staff offers such care and genuine concern for all of the residents. Laura is the glue that holds things together. Mulu is phenomenal in the care she provides personally. Jan, Susan, and Patti are so responsive, friendly and helpful in their role of concierge. My Mom lived at Sunrise for about 2 years, about equally between Independent and Assisted Living. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The food at meals and the snacks were always good. My Mom enjoyed the entertainment and the craft activities. She especially enjoyed playing the piano for enjoyment and church services.

Sunrise has been great. The staff is friendly, helpful, and they seem to genuinely care for the residents and family members. My mom loves her roomy apartment, activities, and the social interaction. I feel comfortable knowing she is safe and being looked after!

My recommendation for Sunrise is positive. But then I am familiar with Sunrise across the country, having visited many on the East Coast. I look forward to living there and getting to know Plano itself.

My parents spent about a year in assisted living, then after dad passed, my mother spent about 9 months in memory care. I will rate them separately because my rating of memory care is much lower than assisted living. Assisted living: 4 stars. Very nice environment, friendly staff in assisted living, good food with things to do. For somebody who doesn't need memory care, it's a great place to live. (a bit expensive but worth it) Memory care: 1 or 2 stars. Even though the website talks about things like "validation therapy", in actual fact the memory care residents simply sit in front of a TV all day long. The staff turnover is very high, I don't think the person who used to do the validation therapy works there anymore, but it's still showing on the website. The room was dirty and even with my complaints, it was not resolved. There were some other serious issues but I won't mention them on this public review. In short, I would not recommend Sunrise memory care. We have found a much better memory care that really cares for my mother and have moved her there.

Very happy with our experience at this facility. We are very satisfied with the care our family member receives. Prior to this facility, we were at another facility where we had a less than satisfactory experience.
