They care and have open doors to any concerns. Mary Ann gave us our tour and that is what influenced us to come. I view her as a true friend. One of the main reasons I moved to American House Sarasota was because of in-house therapy. I have many issues and I was tired of hiring a driver 3 times a week to take me to a location. I am very pleased with the new director Nathan of Legacy. I hurt my back and could barely move. He came to my apartment 2 days in a row and worked on lower back. Today I am walking around I'm very grateful. (2

It took me quite a while to make my decision to move into assisted living with my husband. A cancer diagnosis made my decision for me. While I am independent, my husband is in a wheelchair and needs a lot of care which i have been providing. I needed a home for him if my treatments fail to rid my cancer. After comparing assisted living facilities, American House topped all. We have been here now over a month and love it. The staff are friendly and eager to assist. A plus is the management who never fail to listen to concerns.

We had a wonderful tour from Mary Ann. She was terrific, helped us see the entire facility and understand the community, as well answering all of our questions. A great experience.

American House Sarasota is a beautiful property with friendly, caring staff and residents. Luis, who works in memory care, is particularly kind and gentle, and I’m grateful to him for easing our transition. And Ryan at the front desk always gives a friendly, personal greeting, and clearly cares about residents and visitors alike. Thank you!

My family and I would like to highly compliment a few employees at American House Sarasota. All four of these employees: Med techs , Gabby, Fanny, and Yeily are absolutely wonderful. All 3 are so caring, perform their job duties perfectly, very personable. They all are so great with my mom- they love her and my mom loves them! They truly care about the people who live here. Jeremy, who is in your maintenance department does a fantastic job and really cares about these people! He also is so nice, pleasant, and personable. All four of these employees are an asset to this senior living community, and you should be grateful they are here. I know we are ! -Ann Bolton

Just Wow! What an amazing community. Highly recommended. The energy is just outstanding. The staff are all engaging when I was doing my visit. they had a marketplace activity going on in the main lobby. Tammy was so knowledgeable for just starting that week. You can tell she loves what she does to help families. I met Ingrid and Erin too. Karen at the front desk was very welcoming. I know this is the community for us and my sister is really looking forward to moving in this month.

I forgot the sweet lady's name already but i think her name is Susan. She is the sweetest nicest lady ever I am the garbage man that picked up the garbage from American senior living on bee ridge and she was trying to help me move the cans. I thought it was the sweetest thing in the world. We need more people like her in the world to be a better place thanks again.

I had the pleasure of meeting Theresa Capuano recently and got to see the facilities at American House. What a beautiful facility. I came to talk to her about the pharmaceutical options we have. I was never rushed and she really took the time to listen. American House is lucky to have such a wonderful woman working for them.

I can’t say enough good things about American House. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warmth, professionalism, and a genuine sense of community. The staff is incredibly attentive and compassionate”they go above and beyond to make sure every resident feels cared for and respected. The facility itself is clean, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully designed with comfort and safety in mind. Activities are engaging and varied, offering something for everyone, whether it’s social events, fitness classes, or creative hobbies. The food is also worth mentioning”nutritious, well-prepared, and delicious. Most importantly, the atmosphere at American House truly feels like home. It’s clear the team prioritizes dignity, independence, and quality of life for their residents. I wholeheartedly recommend American House to anyone looking for a senior living community that treats its residents like family. Theresa was amazing.

I highly recommend taking the time to tour American House Senior Living Sarasota! It's truly a hidden gem that will exceed your expectations. From the moment you pull into the beautifully maintained property and step into the spacious, elegant breezeway, you're welcomed into a bright, airy atrium lobby that immediately feels warm and inviting. The staff is exceptional- genuinely kind, personable, and deeply compassionate. Their dedication to the residents is evident in every interaction, creating a true sense of community and care. One of the most impressive aspects of American House is the variety of residential options available: independent living, assisted living, and memory care. The memory care program, in particular, left a lasting impression on me. I've never seen such a vibrant, engaging environment- residents were happy, active, and well cared for, even returning from a field trip with bright smiles and a sense of contentment. I also had the pleasure of touring the villas and other residential options, all of which offer beautiful views and a peaceful, well-maintained campus. Every detail has been thoughtfully designed to create a comfortable, enriching lifestyle for residents. My experience was made even better by working with Stefanie Steiger, who was an absolute joy to connect with. She is a wealth of knowledge and made the entire process informative and seamless. If your considering a senior living for yourself or a loved one, American House is absolutely worth your time to tour-you'll be pleasantly surprised by the warmth, beauty, and outstanding care it offers.

We justed loved Stephanie! She really was kind, knowledgeable and seems to really know what her community needs and likes.

My Father loves the friendly residents he has met at American House. He loves to take long walks around the lake. The staff is nice. American House does not provide Skilled Nursing. The caregivers are nice and most do not have a certification to provide care. The professional medical care for the residents all outsourced by 3rd party contractors that are not monitored by the staff for quality of care. Important to self-monitor the med management directly with the pharmacy if medications are not on a 30-day cycle and special distribution like a narcotic, or to be signed off by staff.

Following an exhaustive search of long term care faciitlies in the Sarasota/Manatee area, we decided on American House as our home. It is "head and shoulders" over the many others we visited in terms of the range and quality of services. We have found the American House radiates not only the very welcoming, warmth and friendliness in everything it does, but even more importantly, provides the professionalism and high level of supportive services that my wife and I so depend on during this "older adult" of time of life.

We love it here at American House in Sarasota. We went to 16 other places before choosing American House, and this is the best.

One of the nicest places my family has seen for our 98 year old Mother. The staff, management and most importantly those that clean and take care of her apartment and wash her laundry are just exceptional. We love it.
October 2023
Very impressed! The staff was helpful and caring and their chef Jose’s daily menus varied and delicious. Our tour guide Judi Dunn was awesome. She answered all questions and helped us through the entire process of getting my sister situated into her new apartment with its beautifully landscaped grounds and swimming pool along with the many event activities offered to residents. After checking out 5 other area residences we found The American House; a place perfect for my sister with her special needs. Their cost’s were very reasonable and care levels offered ideal. I would highly recommend this well run assisted living unit to anyone needing a safe, clean and caring place to live. Sincerely, Jim Gilleylen.

My parents life was very nice at Atria (now American House--under new ownership) until COVID hit. Life has been difficult for them there the past year, but it was for everyone and the staff did what they could during this stressful time. So a year has past and now over 98% of residents have had the vaccine, we thought things would gradually go back to normal... The big problem is now they have started a major renovation of the third floor. Work goes on day and night. This is an outrageous misfortune for this to happen after such a terrible year. My parents complain about being woken up multiple times during the night and the noise continues all day long. Not only is it the third floor construction going on, they are renovating the hallway outside their apartment and sometimes cannot get out of their door. Also the water was shut off on Thursday night and they have not had hot water for almost 2 days If you are considering American House for yourself or your parents, I would definitely wait until all the construction is done”whenever that is, I suspect it’ll at least be another year. They have not really given us a timeline. I’m not sure if the change in ownership has anything to do with sudden major inconveniences or if it was just a bad coincidence.. time will tell.
September 2019
We just moved a family member into Atria in mid-August, and what wonderful experience it was and continues to be. We are as impressed with the staff, programming, food and overall facility now as we were then, and firmly believe that our family member will thrive there. Granted it’s been less than two months, but all signs are positive and we’re all happy that we chose Atria Sarasota (after reviewing and visiting no fewer than three other ALF properties).
May 2017
My mother lives here and is very happy. She was in tears when we moved her in- against her wishes to remain independent - but her face lit up when she saw her apartment. With her own furnishings and a view of the lake, she is very comfortable and at home. If asked, she will tell you she is "very happy". Other residents have reported the same in informal chats. The apartment is sunny, has a dining room and kitchen ( 2 bedroom, 2 bath) and she has entertained here, hosted bridge games, etc. Other residents are well-dressed, upscale, and sociable (for the most part, a bit of snobbery about bridge acumen!).
