Reviews St. Andrew’s Village

My wife and I moved here 2.5 years ago. The staff are nice, the facility needs some up grading, the food is not very good. The item on the menu may not be what you get, or it may not look like any dish by that name you have ever had before. Some times food is salted heavy and somed times it has no salt.

Recently toured the Independent Living with a client and we were all impressed! The community was clean, buzzing with happy people- staff, residents and family members, and felt very comfortable. Keep up the good work.

Great senior living community in Aurora. So much to offer from independent living to assisted living and memory support with the additional option of short term stays. Jane and the sales team are great and the director of nursing Virginia is exceptional. Highly recommend!

Recently, my brother and I had the task of finding a full-service living facility for our uncle in Colorado. He was transferring from a hospital setting and we needed a place that provided full-time medical care, with the ability to transfer to assisted-living and then independent-living as he got better. St. Andrew's Village fit the bill perfectly. What made this challenging is that we were doing this from Pennsylvania, without the benefit of being able to tour any of the 4-6 facilities that we were considering. It was the admissions staff at both The Springs at St. Andrew's Village and the assisted-living department of St. Andrew's who spent many hours talking with us and assuring us that this would be a great fit for him. While there have been some hiccups along the way, with each challenge, we would once again turn to the admissions staff to answer our questions (although that was no longer their responsibility). In particular, Jace and Jane went above and beyond (and continue to do so), assuring us that they would find an answer to our questions. We had the opportunity to visit St. Andrew's Village in person, and meeting Jace was like reuniting with a family member who you had not seen in a while. He patiently gave us a tour and told us some of the items my uncle would need when moving into assisted-living. When a hospital bed arrived at the door, with the delivery person only offering to deliver to the door, Jane managed to solve the problem, once again going above and beyond her duties. Our uncle is improving every day and is already set up in the assisted-living unit. He loves that everything he needs is available to him -- from transportation needs to meals to therapies to a team of health-care professionals. A big thank you to St. Andrew's for treating our uncle (and his niece and nephew) like family. And a special shout-out to Jace and Jane. You have found your calling in helping those in need. Food was above my expectations. The meal was awsome. Service was spot on and seamless. I thought I was on a nice cruise ship
February 2024
Delicious meal at St. Andrew's for the Roaring Twenties Banquet! The bacon wrapped scallops were so tender, as well as the slow braised short ribs. And my favorite key lime pie for dessert! Loved that the entertainment wasn't too loud so that we could continue our conversations.

Staff driver extremely concerned about residents' safety while providing an enjoyable trip.

I loved our trip to the Rocky Mountain Arsenal. Even though it was a cold day, we saw lots of animals and wildlife. It was a good trip and we had a great time.
December 2023
Very welcoming retirement home-the staff bent over backwards to accommodate our loved one and extended all kinds of patience, respect and support in assisting our family through a most difficult time. After exploring 4 other facilities this was, hands down, the one to be at. Thank you Jane, Melodie and Jayce.

St. Andrew's Village is a "Retirement Community With An Attitude". An attitude which starts with Steve Austin, Executive Director and permeates the entire staff and compliment of residents. This attitude is expressed in terms of friendliness, support, sharing, encouraging, helping and just "being there" for each other, staff and resident. It's there in welcoming someone back from a hospital stay following a heart attack or total hip replacement, after a fall and trip to the emergency room with an ugly bruise on their face, and after pleasant and joyful trip with family to see a new great grand child. It's there in giving a friend some new information about the disease that may be responsible for their need to be at St. Andrew's in the first place. It's always there and present for all to see. Meal time is one of the major social activities of the day for residents. They congregate in the beautiful and comfortable Dining area, and the slightly less formal Bistro, to share time and enjoy each others company while enjoying the exquisite cuisine from the kitchen. This is served up by the generally young, energetic and always friendly waite staff, always eager to serve and make certain you are enjoying your eating experience to the maximum. And there is the facility. Apartments come in a wide variety of sizes and configurations to meet the needs any resident, or potential resident, and they are designed to provide maximum utilizing of the space each one occupies. Residents are encouraged to decorate and design their apartments for their enjoyment and comfort and place icons outside their front door which identify interests in their lives. Other features include the pool, which provides a great venue for water aerobics, coached by resident Marsha, or just relaxing, and it is used extensively by the in-house Physical Therapy Department. The multi-purpose Community Room provides a home for many physical, mind and memory improvement and entertainment activities. These include, but are not limited to Bean Ball Baseball, Brain Games, Art Programs, Dance and Music Entertainment, Several Exercise Programs and, with the Chapel, provide a venue for Protestant, Catholic and Episcopal Church Services and a wide variety of movies and lectures on food, health, medical, history and entertainment topics, book reviews by residents and more. We also enjoy music and barbecues on the patio, weather permitting, and Happy Hours a couple times a month with excellent musical entertainment. Closing this on a personal note, I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease almost 14 years ago and I am a strong advocate for research and treatment of the disease. I have received excellent medical care through the outstanding programs and providers at the University of Colorado medical facilities and I get tremendous support and encouragement from all sides here at St. Andrew's. My PD symptoms have actually improved since our arrival here from Oregon, almost three years ago, and again since our arrival here at St. Andrew's, almost two years ago. In addition to the many exercise programs, especially the water aerobics, we have been provided space and equipment to establish a Punch Boxing Class in conjunction with the Parkinson's Association of the Rockies. This program has been shown to improve balance, movement, strength and improve eye-hand coordination in patients and is relatively new in the treatment of PD. This is just one more indication of the spirit and attitude that permeates St. Andrew's Village and one more reason why my wife, Wendy, and I are so pleased to be here. BER

I have been a referral source with the staff of St. Andrew's Village for years. It is a pleasure to refer those in need of care to a facility that I know will provide the excellent care that is required and go the extra step in making their facility feel like home. Making the life better for their residents is not only a speaking point, it is truly a fact.

St. Andrews is warm and welcoming community. The food is delicious and the staff is so friendly.
September 2023
My father in law moved to St. Andrew's Village following the death of his wife to be closer to family in Aurora. He LOVED his time at "The Village." He moved into a spacious 2-bedroom unit in the independent living part of the facility. He quickly became actively involved in the wide variety of events and activities available. He was always very complementary of the food options, often comparing the food and activity choices available to the cruise ship accommodations he enjoyed so much on trips with his wife. Although he only stayed at St. Andrews for a few short years before cancer took him away too soon, we will always remember his time at St. Andrew's and were so appreciative with how helpful and thoughtful the staff and community were in the last stage of his life.
July 2023
What an amazing community! As a home healthcare provider for over 30 years, I can say I have been in just about every community in the Denver metro area and St Andrews is tops! A caring staff and a "safety net" system keeps loved ones safe and aging in place. Ask about it and compare to other communities. You won't find anything like it. The residents are warm and friendly and make this place truly home for each other.
June 2023
I first learned about St. Andrews when researching assisted living communities for my in-laws. We were impressed by how welcoming and accommodating the staff is. Now that my in-laws are residents there, we are impressed at how well they are treated by everyone at St. Andrews. That's why I didn't hesitate earlier this month when, after undergoing two surgeries in late August, I needed rehabilitative care upon leaving the hospital. The intake process to the St. Andrews skilled nursing facility was smooth and efficient surprising (to me, at least) given that it occurred over the Labor Day weekend. Just like with my in-laws, all of the staff members were extremely attentive, kind and caring to me. I received excellent medical care and rehabilitative services. An added bonus: the food was exceptional.
April 2023
St. Andrew's Village is a wonderful, clean and energizing community! I would highly recommend this community if you are looking for a new home where you can thrive! The staff at St. Andrew's has been there years and they truly care about each and every resident and staff member.
March 2023
I'm so very impressed with the people at St. Andrew's Village, both the independent living section and also the skilled nursing facility, which, sadly, my mother necessitated as well. Jane, our marketing director, helped us with all the details of moving in, made it easy for Mom, and she even set her up with residents to show her around, eat with her, et cetera. The facility is so clean and well-maintained. We loved taking my grandson to the pool! Mom and I went to a couple get-togethers with musical performers. Very fun! The front desk people are so kind and helpful with helping to arrange rides or anything you'd need. Mom wasn't there too long before she required a higher level of care. She was cared for by nurses and nurses' aides at The Springs at St. Andrew's that were professional and dedicated to her med schedule and her care. Mom liked the food too. When Mom passed away (she was 90), the staff was respectful and kind to me, very loving with their condolences. I honestly don't have a bad thing to say about my entire experience, as unfortunately short as it was, with St. Andrew's Village. AND it was conveniently located for me and easy to get in and out of to go see her. Thanks to all the staff for everything. Maria Orton

We investigated several retirement communities before we chose St. Andrews Village. While there are several features here that are good, the two primary reasons that we moved here are the good choices in floor plans and, most of all, the friendliness of the other residents and the staff. People here care for each other and the friendliness of the staff is consistently excellent.
March 2023
St.Andrews is affordable, not crowded, not too many rules, not too much hustle & bustle. Here I can be independent, eat good food, meet friendly people. Yes, St. Andrew's works for us. ( GREAT STAFF). THANK YOU, FELICIANO & ITOKO CHAVES

I have never failed to be amazed at the friendliness of the community at St. Andrew's Village. Literally all the residents and all the staff are open and welcoming. The concierge desk staff, the dining room staff, the maintenance folks are all accommodating and helpful. The residents are always sociable. The floor plans are great, the food is great, the activities are varied and interesting. You cannot beat this place at the price.

My 92 year old mother is in independent living and my 66 year old brother is in assisted living. They have been at St Andrews Village since early 2020. We have had nothing but an excellent experience at St Andrews Village. Steve Austin, the Executive Director, is very involved in the community to make sure the residents are receiving the best care and experience possible. Virginia Sandoval who heads up assisted-living is wonderful to work with and is extremely experienced in problem resolution and providing attentive care to the residents. We have had nothing but lovely and kind service and attention from the rest of the staff as well. I highly recommend St Andrews Village for anyone looking for a caring place for their loved ones.

I can't say enough good things about St. Andrews Village Independent Living. It has been a wonderful place for my father to settle in safely and very comfortably. What a relief for my family. The whole experience has been made easier by the capable and professional staff, from sales staff through management, even kitchen and front desk staff. Everyone there has worked hard to ensure that my dad has what he needs and is safe and happy there, from the meals, the social interaction, even how his apartment looks with pictures hung on walls, etc. He has some dietary issues but they're working with us to assist there, even though it is independent living. It is not the least expensive option out there, but the peace of mind is priceless.
December 2020
My Mother and Brother are residents and I am so grateful they have been in such a caring place during COVID. The staff goes out of their way to help with fun cartoons in the elevator, they personally deliver food and other items and drop off afternoon snacks on occasion. The food is delicious and well organized with timely deliveries to rooms. St Andrews is a exceptional!

Saint Andrews is a wonderful place. The continuum of care makes transitions from each level of care seamless. The staff is so friendly. Would recommend this place to everyone.
November 2020
I had visited and researched independent living facilities for seniors before moving to St. Andrews Village. Although I knew what outstanding features life at St. Andrews would offer, there was one big surprise when I moved in. I never thought in a million years that I would make such a wonderful group of new friends in my senior years. We have an extended family here & Im grateful to be a part of it.

My mother moved into St. Andrews almost two years ago, and while she was very worried about the change from living in her home to an apartment, we both feel that it was the best decision she could have made. No more worries about maintaining a home by herself, and rather than spending so much time by herself she is constantly engaged with the activities and programs. The meals are wonderful, and the staff really treat the residents well.During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Director kept family updated regularly, and implemented common-sense policies to keep the residents healthy. As a son, I feel that my Mom is well cared for, and I know that she is happy at St. Andrews Village.

I am a current employee at St. Andrews Village for over 2 years. My main duties are in Health Care, the rehabilitation side of this rather large property. I enjoy engaging with my fellow co workers day in and day out. For me, its not just were I work but, a place that is inviting, homelike, and enjoyable. I have worked in the care giving industry for a long time. I can appreciate being part of a senior living community with strong customer service emphasis. Our residents are our main objective here at St. Andrews village. We strive to offer an environment that is not sterile and devoid of character. I see SAV as a well maintained community for senior living with comfortable surroundings, staff that are engaging, accommodating, and fun. This is a community I feel confident our residents can call home.
May 2020
St. Andrews Village is a great place to work! I chose this community for many reasons but one of the main reasons was the longevity of staff. We have housekeepers, cooks, maintenance, concierge and care givers that have all been here eight or more years. This is rare in this industry so it really makes a difference when you are able to see the same faces on a regular basis. I see residents in Independent living and Assisted living on a regular basis thriving and genuinely enjoying their time living here. If you ever come by for a visit, stay for lunch, the soup is delicious and my favorite thing on the menu!

Worked here over 10years love the residents!! We have gone through different owners over the years but one thing that remains are the residents. There are of course residents that were with me 8 and 9 years who I miss dearly. I enjoy having the opportunity to welcome new friends to our village. I love our seniors and enjoy taking time and talking with them.

My mother in law lives there, when first moved her in,the meals were excellent like a 5 star restaurant. Then a new ownership took over called Watermark. The great meals changed to horrible and very small portions. Complaints have been made to management, but to no avail. Results have been, over 25 to 30 residents have moved out.It seems Watermark has been cutting corners on the meals and thats not where you should!
