The Lakeshore Retirement Community is a welcoming, beautiful home for my mom. She moved across the country to be closer to where I live and I am assured by the authentic, friendly, and devoted care she has received while settling in; quite a feat after leaving everything behind and starting anew.

What other Senior Living Community can boast of watching the blue angels and sea planes from their dining room? There is also a beloved pair of bald eagles that nest so near all the residents know of and keep tabs on them. Locally owned and operated, this gem has a great price point for the Era Living lifestyle you get to enjoy. Including: art shows, lecture series, access to social work services, high quality freshly made food.

My mother moved in to Lakeshore a month ago and is absolutely loving it there. The staff are exceptional and have made every aspect of choosing Lakeshore and moving in there a smooth and very supported process. The loving care, thoughtful attention and real sense of home that exists at Lakeshore have made moving there such a joyful experience and seamless transition. My mother loves the amount of activities, ability to develop new friendships, caring staff and privacy in her lovely apartment. I am so grateful for this wonderful place and the dedication of the staff.

I’ve had a bit of experience with Independent and Assisted Living facilities in the last 6 months, as we looked for a place for my step-mom after my dad passed. Then my 81 mother had to have surgery right before Thanksgiving, where she then lived with my family for a few weeks while recovering. It was during that time that she came to the conclusion that she should not go back to her 3 story house, and that is where The Lakeshore came into our lives. After visiting other homes with my step-mom I was immediately in love with The Lakeshore. First, everyone is incredibly kind and welcoming, which is a must to help facilitate a life changing move for your loved one. The apartments are so sweet and the shared spaces are cozy and comforting. The amount of activities offered is also a huge plus. All of it really made the move so easy for my mom and made us kids feel that she was going to be well taken care of. We highly recommend, 10/10 from our family.

The Executive Chris Frere, is good at resolving problems. Sent a resident a 100 dollar Christmas gift. The USPS tracking said It was delivered but she said she never got it. Chris Frere worked directly with my Mom to make sure the lost item was found in order to resolve the problem. The supervisor showed a high level of commitment to care, and he communicated clearly with me by email and phone.

I found The Lakeshore when my MIL decided it was time for senior living. I looked at multiple communities in the sound sound. This was the only place I took her. The setting is beautiful.. The staff is so friendly, welcoming, supportive from the time you enter and every encounter thereafter. It is a place where residents have welcoming smiles are friendly and feel at home. My MIL is so happy with every aspect of her living space and community. The meals are incredibly delicious. If I could give 100 stars I would!! It is so comforting for our family to know she is happy, safe and treated so well.

We could not be happier with The Lakeshore and their staff! My mother-in-law recently moved in after she fell in love with a cute apartment. From the very beginning, the staff has been very welcoming, warm, friendly and professional. Everyone from the director to maintenance to reception to food service to community coordinators to shuttle drivers have made this transition the best it could be!! She feels very cared for and we rest knowing she is in good hands. Would highly recommend the Lakeshore.

Life has a way of catching you off guard. Recently, circumstances arose that required us to urgently find a long-term assisted living placement for both of my husband’s parents. We searched far and wide, visiting numerous communities throughout King and Snohomish Counties, and quickly discovered that not all offerings are created equal”some were basically adequate, while others fell short of our expectations. We quickly came to realize that a truly good placement involves far more than beautiful d©cor or polished presentation materials. For us, the right community was one where our parents could not only live, but truly thrive. During our first visit, we were immediately impressed with The Lakeshore. The staff was genuine, professional, and service-oriented. The amenities were expansive, and the grounds were beautiful. During consecutive visits, we spoke with many residents. Their enthusiasm for their community and one another was unmistakable. They shared a strong sense of autonomy, mutual respect, and cultural awareness. What stood out most was the atmosphere of genuine happiness and fulfillment. Residents were engaged and inspired”not stuck in a loop of routine, but motivated to learn, grow, and stay connected to the changing world around them. Our family reached a unanimous decision, and we have not regretted it for a single moment. Transitioning from a personal home to an apartment can be challenging, but Executive Director Chris Frere and his team made the process seamless and welcoming. Every member of The Lakeshore staff made sincere efforts to get to personally know our parents, taking time to learn what mattered most to them in order to support their independence and interests. From day one, our parents felt genuinely welcomed and have already formed many close friendships with fellow residents. On a personal note, I have found every staff member to be exceptionally responsive to our parents’ needs and concerns. Tracy and Hedy at reception offer a wealth of knowledge and always greet us with a warm, friendly smile. Denise and the entire wellness team provide attentive and compassionate care, addressing any medical concerns promptly. Mario and the maintenance staff have been outstanding in their responsiveness to residential and technology needs, and the dining services team consistently serves delicious, healthy meals tailored to individual preferences. Our placement decision was, without question, one of the hardest we have ever had to make as a family. It is such a relief to leave those difficult days behind and to see our parents truly thrive in their new home at The Lakeshore.

I can say enough good things about the staff and residents of The Lakeshore. I just moved my mom in from out of state and every single step of the process has been met with grace, concern, and the desire to make the transition easy for her. Fully recommend!

Our family is so grateful for The Lakeshore. The staff truly cares for their community members and demonstrate kindness, helpfulness, understanding and care throughout the departments. The main reception staff always greet us with a smile and are willing to help in any way. The dining services are delicious and nutritious, even hosting a welcome dinner for our family. The view from the dining room is outstanding. The Wellness Center is reliable, organized and follows through on assisted living services, giving our family great relief that our loved ones are in caring and capable hands. Communication with each team when needed is seamless as emails and phone calls are answered quickly. Choosing The Lakeshore was a great decision for our loved ones.

My father transitioned to The Lakeshore from his house following a mini-stroke four years ago. It turned out to be the best decision we could have made with him. While being in a great location with wonderful views of Lake Washington, the staff and residents are the reason why we have stayed over the years. My father recently transitioned from Independent Living to Assisted Living and the team at Lakeshore went beyond expectations to make sure the services required to support his increasing needs were being provided. It brought a sense of comfort to both my father and our family knowing he was being so well taken care of by the Lakeshore team. They have truly become part of our extended family. I would highly recommend The Lakeshore to anyone and/or any family looking for a great assisted living solution.

My 96-year-old mother has been a resident at The Lakeshore for a little more than a year. The staff is caring and respectful; the activities for residents with varied interests are plentiful, and the food is excellent -- served up in a spectacular dining room overlooking Lake Washington! This is, in my view, a wonderful place to spend one's later years, with or without a little extra help!

After researching and visiting many assisted living facilities, we selected the Lakeshore for its close proximity to family members for easy visits. But we also liked friendliness of the residents, incredible dining room (sweeping view of Lake Washington) and unique activities. Our parents have been living at the Lakeshore for nearly a year now. A favorite activity for them is the quarterly art fair where new art work is exchanged throughout the building, for viewing by the residents and visitors. Often artists come give artist talks at the openings. Also, concerts with live bands (e.g. Jazz) are enjoyed as well. What we discovered after arriving was the care the staff take in keeping our parents safe. For example, the nursing staff have a standing daily meeting where all contacts with residents get exchanged so no issues/incidents get hidden away from other staff members. Also, the nursing and care staff regularly reach out with any concerns or tips to keep our parents comfortable and safe. For example, one parent had a short hospital stay, the nursing staff made recommendations for how best to return the Lakeshore safely (e.g. what short term assisted living services to use, assessment visit at a recovery center). In another example, a parent visited the nursing office with some mild pains and the staff quickly notified us so that we could also follow up and make sure all was OK. Making the transition to assisted living is not easy on parents and families. It's a big life change, especially for very independent families. The Lakeshore has made the transition for our parents as smooth as we could image.

We just moved my dad into Lakeshore, on short notice. It was a great experience. Everyone there went out of their way to make it easy and my dad feel welcome. There is a real customer service culture there: anytime I asked the staff how to do something, they said, I’ll take care of that for you. And they did. The staff all seemed to know who my dad was and what apartment he was in, within about 3 hours of him moving in. Remarkable. Nice facilities. Great view of the lake from the dining room. I liked every meal I had there. I really can’t say enough good things about it.

We feel so fortunate that we found The Lakeshore for my sister to spend her last days here. The entire staff was so kind and truly caring. They really got to know her and it was evident every time we visited that she was receiving exceptional care. Sadly, her time at The Lakeshore was far too short as we think should would have thrived in the very welcoming community. We would highly recommend this community for anyone wanting a top notch retirement environment or as in our case a caring end of life home for their loved one.

I love that my parents always tell me "We are so blessed to get to live here. We can see Lake Washington and Mount Baker AND Mount Ranier!" They love the food and I appreciate the staff working with us to provide delicious gluten free and dairy free options, and also low sugar desserts. This truly helps them not just survive, but thrive! I always look forward to visiting and seeing what's on the calendar. Y'all know how to entertain! And hats off to the friendliest staff ever! You bring us all joy and are very much appreciated. Beautiful facility, kind and available staff, many bonuses. My 90-plus-year-old parents were not keen on moving out of their home of 3 decades but when they toured The Lakeshore they made a deposit that day. We have not been disappointed. It’s worth the long drive from the north to visit and help them as they age. We typically arrive to see that they have been checked on, our requests for adjustments have been met, they have eaten nutritious meals that respect their particular restrictions, and we often get invited to participate in the numerous activities. Mom and Dad can easily attend events together or independently and they encounter friendly staff and neighbors every time they leave their apartment. We can stay for elegant and reasonably priced meals on request and even join exercises and games. Outings, gardening, views from the walking trail and plane-watching over the nearby lake and airport are just a few of the bonuses they have discovered. While some improvements can be made, several of them have been addressed over the past year. We are so grateful that our parents seem to be thriving. We appreciate the supportive teamwork attitude of The Lakeshore administration and staff, and highly recommend checking them out.

Initially moved my mother and father to The Lakeshore 5 1/2 years ago. There have been ups and downs, many staff changes and the difficult Covid years, but overall, quite satisfied with facility and staff. There are some standout longtime staff members that have really made the difference for my family. A round of applause and a big thank you to them!

Lakeshore staff are the best! They greet my mom by name and always with a smile. Have yet to meet an unkind or grumpy person there- staff or resident. They are very caring and we are grateful she is there. My Dad has lived here for 5 years and it has been a fantastic experience. He has made so many friends, is involved in several card playing clubs, enjoys the wide array of lectures and amazing activities. They have an annual luau, chuckwagon dinner, many concerts and even go on day cruises, plus the list goes on! We are so thankful for The Lakeshore and the wonderful staff.

My father called Lakeshore home for the last seven years of his life. From his first day there, it was a very special place to him. The staff saw to it that he wasn't left alone to find his way around. They found out that he use to fly and in fact got his instrument rating at Renton field which the Lakeshore borders. They hooked him up with two other WWII pilots and immediately he had some friends to share meals and other activities with. He soon realized how many people that he knew that were now living at the Lakeshore and it soon came home. The staff was always kind and professional. They took care of him as his physical strength dissipated. I enjoyed having lunch there once a week. Their dining room is bright and beautiful. The meals were good and the dessert even better. I also attended a number of their special events such as the Christmas formal and Easter Brunch. The Lakeshore also has many off site activities where they take their bus trips. I met the bus on more than one occasion for lunch at their favorite Chinese restaurant. They even managed to get my dad interested in a Wii bowling league. He also had his own pea patch where he grew his tomatoes and other vegetables. He loved his BLT sandwiches with his own tomatoes. The bottom line is the Lakeshore is a beautiful complex, at a great location staffed with quality folks. I would invite you to experience it for yourself.

I have been a Resident at the Lakeshore for 16 years. I have been very happy here. All the staff goes way overboard to see that everyone has everything they need. I shall continue to enjoy this residency for many more years to come. beth Greggs
