I am so grateful that my grandmother found Brookdale South Bay. After touring several other senior living communities, almost all of which were at a higher price point, Brookdale blew the competition out of the water with its warm, vibrant, welcoming community atmosphere. I hate to compare, but the other homes we looked at felt like very fancy shoeboxes to tuck your loved one into and never look back. Brookdale feels like a community. People are not closed up in their rooms, they are using the communal spaces- the lobby, the library, the game room… The dining room is lively and welcoming and the residents are really nice! There are outings, organized community discussions, performances, and activities. And if/when your loved one requires more care, management is right there to recommend a caregiver. I am so so grateful we landed at Brookdale.

My mom has lived in the community for seven years now. She loves it! She has friends and activities that keep her occupied and happy. Everyone who works there goes out of their way to meet any request I have. They care about each of their residents, it's evident in the ways they interact with them. They know my mom, and treat her like family, especially Lanette and Ted, but really everyone! It gives me and my siblings a great deal of peace.

My mom lived there for over two years before her passing. She really thrived at Brookdale. It was a wonderful positive experience for her and our family. The staff was always friendly and helpful. Everyone from the manager to the sales staff, receptionist, food staff and maintenance crew. They always went out of there way to please my mother and the residence there. My mom often told me how much she enjoyed being at Brookdale. And how thankful she was to everyone for their care and kindness. Brookdale kept her involved and social. I could go on and on how much I appreciate Brookdale and staff. When my moms health started to fail, they really rose to the occasion. Helping me handle what needed to be handled.They provided me with the tools and emotional support I needed. I am a classic car hobbyist who working with Brookdale put on a car show their for the residence. We did this multiple time annually. My friends and I bring about thirty cars to the event. Since my mothers passing about a year ago we have continued to put on the car show. I do this in moms memory. It is my way of showing appreciation to Brookdale and staff for all they did for my mother and me.

She loves the food and has her grandkids join her often. She keeps busy with all of the activities and does her shopping with her friends. The other residents are very friendly. She always has friends to eat and chat with. They look out for each other. We all love the fact that the staff does not have turnover. Lynette does an amazing job overseeing all things. I come to the Brookdale South Bay Senior Community 5 days a week. One of the residents has a dog that I walk daily. My own parents happen to live at a Senior Independent facility in Florida, so I am very aware of what to expect from these Communities. I have been so impressed with Brookdale. Everyone is greeted with a smile and acknowledged by name-residents and visitors. I have only seen caring and compassionate interactions from the staff. I would definitely look into Brookdale South Bay as an option if my parents were here in California. Super staff, clean and always lots of activity!

My mom moved into Brookdale Southbay six years ago and she couldn’t be happier. From the staff at the front of house to kitchen and housekeeping staff, all are caring, friendly and top notch. She has a lovely one bedroom apartment when she wants privacy but there’s often something going on to engage the residents. They have speakers and musicians come in to entertain, movie afternoons and evenings, games, puzzles, computer lessons, a beautiful library and days trips to museums, shopping, events or just to see the local scenery. Several religious groups have gatherings for prayer or study weekly. I and my family travel frequently but are always assured that my mom is safe and being looked after by the wonderful staff at Brookdale.

My mother has been at Brookdale in Torrance for over a year, and I can not recommend it highly enough. After living her entire life In Kentucky, she was worried about moving across the country. The staff welcomed her with open arms, and she is happier than I have seen her in many years. My father is a resident at Brookdale and I could not be happier that he is there. His apartment is spacious, the food is delicious, and the staff is caring and considerate. He is safe and taken care of, but is still able to be independent. There are plenty of activities and fun things to do.

Worth every penny. The staff, grounds, interior and exterior are excellent. The staff is very attentive and experienced. I know that my parents are in good hands living there. My parents say its like being a cruise. The food is cooked in the kitchen on site, as opposed to being shipped in and reheated! Remember you get what you pay for!!! Update; after 3 years my dad is happier than ever. The staff is attentive, friendly, and very accommodating. Thank you Brookdale!!!!

Brookdale's staff — from its director Lanette to the activity director to the cook staff to the reception staff — are so incredibly helpful to residents and visitors alike. There are so innovative in creating tons of activities for my mom to enjoy, and the staff keep an eye on her and encourage her to do things she's never done before. Throughout Covid, they have been extra careful and have been able to keep everyone safe. My mom has been there for years now, and I wouldn't think of moving her. She is healthy, happy and safe. Bravo, Brookdale!

I called to find out more information on the best way to introduce the idea of moving to my parents, and Brookdale South Bay gave me great advice! Not only do they have information on their website on the best ways to get started on senior living, but they made me feel comfortable enough to actually take steps forward with my parents. I will definitely be recommending them to all my friends and family who are looking for a facility that genuinely cares about the well being of their residents. I will give Brookdale South Bay a 5 rating due to phenomenal residents like Connie Landis, Joe and Rose Zito, and many more to name and some of my former coworkers like my Mother Patricia McCutcheon and Alex Cardenas, I spent almost 5 years there and that is all I will say for now! If I can say anything to the wonderful residents that I have had the pleasure of having interaction with, I want them to know that I love them with all my heart!
