I’ve had such a positive experience with The Healthcare Resort of Leawood, and I can’t say enough about the compassion and dedication of their team. What stood out the most was the incredible effort from the administrative staff, who went above and beyond to help get a family member placed over a weekend. They were working on what should have been their day off, taking time away from their family to help another family. That level of commitment and care means everything to families during a stressful and emotional time. The staff is kind, attentive, and truly treats residents with dignity and respect. The facility is clean, welcoming, and creates a comforting environment for both residents and their families. It’s not easy trusting others with the care of someone you love, but this team makes you feel supported every step of the way. Any family should choose or recommend The Healthcare Resort of Leawood to anyone in need of skilled nursing care.

Oh my God, these guys literally saved my moms life. I owe them everything. She came in here on her death bed, and she is leaving 100% better I am so grateful for the care of the hospitality and the loving support they gave my mother. We’ve had such a wonderful experience with this assisted living community. From the very beginning, the staff has been kind, welcoming, and genuinely attentive to my aunt’s needs. Wow- after working in senior living and now helping families and seniors find the right community- I was so impressed! I arrived early for a tour last week and while I waited, I saw the team celebrate a resident at their time of discharge. There was applause, hugs and the patient rang a bell to symbolize finishing her therapy! Throughout the tour, I met warm and wonderful staff and very happy residents. My 94-year-old father lives here in assisted living. Every day, I thank God for HCR. He is being cared for by the very best in the business, and it is evident that every staff member goes the extra mile to make sure he is loved well in his last chapter of life. From the front desk to the maintenance team and even in the business office, they all know my dad and go out of their way to meet his needs. We could not have asked for better care when we were looking for his final home.

Health care resorts has taken me from being unable to move my left leg at all to getting close to walking unassisted. My stay there was great with many people helping me to get better. The people in the therapies are fantastic including occupational therapy, speech therapy and physical therapy. What a fantastic place and what an incredible TEAM of caring people are to be found here. I just spent time on the Bridgewood wing after hospital transfer. The entire staff (and there were plenty of them 24/7) were incredibly skilled but administered their support in such a genuine caring manner. I actually watched and listened as the weeks went by to see if ever they lost it and just let their voice loudly scold anyone. It never happened. And the TEAM in the gym (particularly Alissa and Dawn) with their natural bubbly sense of humor but very serious caring attitude made PT times actually a blast. Most important, these 2 know how to get results. I had to be wheeled into Heathcare but in shorter time than predicted, they had me using only a cane to walk out at discharge. Jane brought a sense of peace and comfort to my mom, even in her most anxious and grieving moments. We always felt reassured knowing she was on duty. I just finished a course of Physical and Occupational Therapy treatments at this facility. All of the therapists that I worked with are masters of their discipline. They are caring and patient focused. They worked with me to establish goals that I wanted to achieve. They patiently encouraged me to go beyond what I thought I could actually do without being regimented or scolding. The entire experience was GREAT. My balance is better, my strength has increased, and my endurance has improved. Thanks to all.

First let me say the staff members are very nice and caring and will do everything possible within their power to insure that the patients are getting the best care. However I am very disappointed with the quality or lack of quality of the food my husband is getting as he recuperate from a broken hip. I have written 2 grievances about it I am told it will be taken care of and nothing happens. I have several pictures that I could attach if I knew how. The food arrives cold and about as unappetizing as can be imagined. He is on a modified soft diet and he gets the fibrous ends to broccoli and asparagus. Even the speech therapist has made complaints and nothing changes. Once again all of the staff have been wonderful

If you love your loved ones do not send them here. When you tour they make it sound amazing and that they really care all previous reviews couldnt have been more true even though they are apparently under new management. I dont even know where to start...They are understaffed, they let my father get bed sores (which he is paralyzed) so he needs assitance transfering and since they are under staffed he would lay in bed all day. Now i know my dads was not cooperating but he also was not diagnosed properly and when we told the staff he needed to see a neurologist due to his memory going to get a formal diagnosis they brushed it off. They made my mom sign a power of attorney but then a few days later had my father who didnt know who i was that day or how long he had been there or why he was there or even that he was paralyed sign legal documents "oh he can hold a pen so he can make decisions and sign for him self". This place is truly a joke and was no benifit to my father at all and i am so beyond happy to have gotten him out of that place. This place is a complete shit show. I could go on and on but thats all i will say for now.

Management is a disaster at this establishment and there is constant turnover at all levels. I would highly recommend you look elsewhere for your loved ones care. As the spouse of a former employee who poured countless hours in their therapy department, then went on to a front office job after 5 years of patient care, only to get let go by upper management very shortly after pouring countless more hours into that new job....I can say without question they are extremely mismanaged and your loved one will feel that chaos everyday if they consider staying here.

My dad was transferred to a different facility immediately after being discharged from KU Med. We knew within just a few hours of him being there that we could not let him stay there. So we started researching other skilled nursing facilities and we found Healthcare Resort of Leawood. We called late on a Wed. evening, leaving a message that we would like to get our dad transferred to their facility. These people went above & beyond helping us by making endless phone calls to the insurance company & to the facility my dad was currently at. They were able to get my dad transferred to HCL by mid-afternoon on Fri. THANK YOU- Sheila, Tammy & Justin! During my dad's 2 week stay...he received great care. The OCT & PT's were amazing & taught my dad some great techniques for him to be able to use once he was home to help him feel more independent & not dependent...which he has been using successfully. The food was good quality. If there was anything we had questions or concerns about the staff answered our questions & calmed our worries. Thanks to you all...keep up the great work!

Due to having a bad experience following back surgery in 2012, I elected to interview and survey several Rehab Facilities prior to having a similar procedure done in February of 2017. I selected The Healthcare Resort of Leawood as being by first choice for In- Patient Rehab Services. I had a fabulous experience during my stay before being released to return to my home. The facility, staff and support personnel were cream of the crop, top notch and a grade above all of the rest. I was so impressed that I returned for Out- Patient Physical Therapy sessions to establish normalcy. Their people's training, knowledge and talents indicate they have "walked the Walk and are qualified to Talk the Talk"!
